Nasdaq is pushing for the more than 3,000 companies listed on its U.S. stock exchange to make their boardrooms less overwhelmingly male and white by hiring directors that better reflect the country's diverse population. The company filed a proposal Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission that, if approved, would require all companies on the exchange to disclose the breakdowns of their boards by race, gender and sexual orientation. Companies that do not comply could be delisted, or kicked off the exchange.

What happened to First Amendment Right of free association?
What happened to Freedom itself? Blink, and the Left machetes it.
If anyone thinks they can use reason and fairness, the Constitution as arguments to push back against the Left, , they do not understand that the Left does not, DOES NOT care an iota about ideas of liberty, let alone fairness and reason itself. It is as it always is about POWER.
Power means nothing unless it is the power to oppress, to control, to dominate OTHER PEOPLE.
If there really were enough people to elect Biden, then we are witnessing the success of the Left's propagandization and indoctrination of the electorate.
Tocqueville said that one of the big dangers to our system was that people could vote for things for themselves, and that they would soon PUT THE YOKE on their own necks.

Directors aren’t “hired”. Directors are nominated by a committee and then elected by the shareholders.

So, are these private companies and corporations, or not?
While it's smart to have a diverse group, it should be more about diverse group of ideas and opinions, not just race which sounds like a presumption of how a particular race will think and view things in the world.
Generally speaking, many boards are comprised of people who are being rewarded with the plum position- six-figure salary, health benefits, stock options, and only a couple days per month "work".
Board members should know your industry, know your business, you now, like Hunter Biden.

Directors are usually nominated in order to bring their specific expertise and experience to guide the company.
Where do they go to get fractional blacks, etc., for boards where the math doesn’t work out?
This is a really dumb (pandering) deal that achieves nothing.

When deciding whether to invest in a tech company, savvy investors are not interested in the company's product or market, or its financials. They only want to know the skin color of the company's board members. No doubt MLK would agree with this approach. /s/

Boardrooms are filled with people that have built companies. They should not be filled with people because they are black, female, or some other non-requirement for the job.

No one has ever proven that "token" board members bring any value to a BOD. When you look at annual reports, the women board members are frequently college professors, and the minorities typically own their own "consulting" company that sells diversity training at exorbitant rates to businesses and government. On the other hand, the old white guys are usually retired CEOs and CFOs of Fortune 500 companies, with a smattering of other people who've accomplished something in their lives (retired military, or politicians) who can bring value to the company. The difference in qualifications is staggering.

This is the cr@p that brought the education system failure in India- Thier's was based on "caste". Led to Mass migration by the professionals in 70s and 80s to both UK and USA. Even now, there is a "quota" for employment based on "caste". Is this what US wants to become?

There are Board members, I would suspect, who want to keep their 'sexual orientation' to themselves. What if they lie? And would Cherokee Lizzie be counted as a minority? How would a tranny be counted?
So many questions...

One wonders if NASDAQ can dictate to stockholders how to run the company? Is that allowed by the SEC? One can be sure it is cause because supporting quotas and racism all in one.

BY WHAT RIGHT do they demand this? Who died and made them king? Why should we salute Gessler's hat on the pole? NASDAQ can "push" for companies to chocolate ice cream Thursdays - but who gave them the power to do this under law?
