‘America First’ from U.S. Foreign Policy

Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis declared in an article in Foreign Affairs on Monday that the “America First” foreign policy had damaged national security, and called on Joe Biden to “eliminate ‘America first'” from U.S. strategy.
Mattis resigned in December 2018, citing policy disagreements with the president, who had just ordered a troop drawdown in Syria. In his resignation letter, Mattis said that the U.S. needed to do more to show “respect” to American allies.(Snip)
In his new article, however, Mattis says the opposite, calling for the “end of America First”: The United States today is undermining the foundations of an international order

What's so great about the old school international pre-Trump order?
The one where we were ALWAYS at war for no real reason?
That order?
I'm good with the last 4 years of relative peace. There IS a time for war but these cold *******s think it's always the time. Stuffing tax dollars in their pockets to bomb foreign places that rarely were any threat to anyone but themselves.

It just seems to me there are other forces (men, not spiritual - but that too!) at the upper echelons of global 'maneuvering' that is interested in positioning more than governing. The US must be taken down a few notches and Trump disrupted that slow but steady decline. The governing of a more global nature will come later. The Left, to include many Rinos, is heavily invested in that. IMHO

Mattis, you worthless . . .
My father, a Marine who was one the first wave of 'the old breed' landing and persevering through all those days on Peleliu, is now 98 years old. His hands don't work well anymore so he can't write this himself. But he wanted me to write to you, Mattis: 'you are no Marine, not like the ones I fought with. Thank God you and I were never together in a fox hole crawling with maggots from the bodies around us and buried beneath us. You would have stabbed me in the back to save your own life. I respect the maggots more than I respect you." So says my father, Marine PFC, serving from 1942 - 1945.

Clearly, this traitor deserves the name of Mad Dog because he certainly has earned it with his betrayal of his Oath of office to preserve and defend the Constitution of the United States. This old bird is a globalist who would hand over our freedoms to this world’s elite power hungry fascists. He, like too many in Washington love the stench of war. Sending our men and women into battle for nothing more than to boost his ego and bank account. He certainly has shown he is on the side of the globalists one worlders against the absolute sovereignty of this nation. I spit in his general direction.

Mattis swore to support and defend the Constitution; it's a shame to call this puke a Marine or an American. He deserves special treatment for his crimes-a hanging.
"I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."
The oath is for an indeterminate period; no duration is specifically defined.

Yes, Mad dog is someone's lapdog.
And maybe someone is threatening him. But when you can threaten a USMC general in this country and get away with it, something is clearly amiss. Somebody needs to have the guts to stand up to these evil forces (maybe like a New York real estate tycoon), since the FBI and upper echelons of the military have also sold out. And I had hope in Barr and Durham, but now I believe these are two more traitorous quislings.
Next will be Barr announcing there was no evidence of fraud. What a loser. Trump is going to beat them all again!

"In his resignation letter, Mattis said that the U.S. needed to do more to show “respect” to American allies." Here we go again!! this guy who has such a vaunted reputation in our great fighting force is the voice of the give up and give in segment of our invisible government. How dare he make such a statement when he knows, deep down in his heart, that America's "allies" haven't shown us any "respect" since Ronald Reagan and the reason is: they feared Ronald Reagan for his steadfastness in his doctrine of "America First" as does President Donald J. Trump. anyone would think, first of all, that a "Marine" holding a General's rank would be a steadfast supporter of an "America First" doctrine because it is, simply, the right thing to do.

The truth is we are always bailing out our 'allies' and they give us precious little in return. We had to jump in and save the day in not one, but two World Wars that started in Europe. Vietnam was cleaning up after the French Indo-China disaster. We won the Cold War while most 'allies' just cowered in the face of the Soviets (Thatcher being an exception). The recent Middle East wars sprung from lines drawn on a map by the Europeans after WWI.

Of all the people in the Trump administration who failed the President, and thus the nation, General Mattis is my biggest disappointment. As a veteran, I have had great admiration for military leaders, especially flag officers. What I failed to consider, and now strongly suspect, is that the Obama administration's efforts to advance officers with Mattis' perspective to top leadership in all of the military branches. It appears that our top military officers have now become an integral part of the Swamp.

Biden and his kind will get away with this - unless they admit to it or brag on it. Outside of war our economy is never truly healthy unless we recognize that we owe China and Europe nothing in the way of 'first fruits'. America must come first. If not - we have nothing to offer others. We can be certain that the ChiComs understand this.

#22, see post #40 below. You and I are well aware of the Theranos blood testing scandal. Mattis was not only on the Theranos board after retirement, but earlier while still in the Marines gave Theranos' credibility by contracting for the units in the field, making an end run around the FDA (had not been cleared), the joint medical services and the testing area at Fort Detrick--and staff there told him that the units did not work. Never trust a general officer who's not married and doesn't have a home life, because they start to believe their own PR.

#17 - My dad was a Navy Corpsman who landed on Peleliu with the First Marine Division in that same wave, after previous experience at New Gloucester. He was carried off on a stretcher, patched up and back doing what he could one-handed on a hospital ship. We recently found a letter written to his parents by a doctor on that ship that told of his efforts despite his wounds. And the old man never said a word...just that he got shot up a little. I can't imagine what he would think of Gen. Mattis.

When Mattis resigned, he said President DJT deserved someone that was more in agreement with his policies. I wondered, what's his beef? I thought he might have wanted more action in Iraq or Afghanistan, but it looks like it was other policies he didn't agree with. What? The president shouldn't try to get other members to help carry the financial load in NATO? We should not worry about exporting jobs to China? His complaints sound weak or wrong to me.

President Trump’s experience with a number of retired military general officers show that they are still living in the element where they expect everyone to simply say, “Yes Sir” when they speak, and that will not work with a strong minded President like Trump, whose mantra is that he is the President for common Americans who make the country go outside the DC bubble, and is not interested in starting more endless wars getting American military service men and women killed and wounded on and on to curry favor with the military-industrial complex. The watchword for future Presidents should be stay away from retired military flag and general officers period.

What makes a man like Mattis say something like this? What is happening to our institutions in particular the military? Is there something in the drinking fountains? Brainwashing? What? As a child growing up in the fifties and sixties, I could never have imagined any military officer, let alone a four star general being so openly hostile to his own country. It is shocking even today to read what this dirt bag has written.
To think how much Trump has had to put with in his administration over these last four years. My heart aches for this incredible man who has been spied on, denigrated, cheated, lied about, and whose own staff was disloyal to the point of being traitors.
America will never, ever be able to repay our beloved President Trump for all he has done for our country over these last four years, while being torn apart by many of his closest advisors. I pray every night for God to protect him and our country.

Remember Mattis and the others now at the top of the Pentagon heap came up in rank and became star gazers during the Obama-Biden era. Ask yourself, how many wars have the Obama-Biden created Admirals and Generals actually won?
The other evening I watched an old documentary on You Tube about the Second World War in Europe, where Walter Cronkite narrated and interviewed Dwight Eisenhower about him as the five star Supreme Allied Commander, leading the Allied ground forces from Normandy in June 1944 to when the Nazis unconditionally surrendered during May 1945.
There is no comparison between Eisenhower and today’s Obama-Biden Generals. Of course after winning the war in 1945, seven years later in 1952 Eisenhower was elected President and served eight years in the White House. Clearly Eisenhower was well aware of the dangers of the military- industrial complex and endless wars over which so many of today’s Obama-Biden Generals swoon.
