Vegans may be significantly more likely to develop bone fractures than meat-eaters, a new study revealed. The large, longitudinal study published Sunday in the journal BMC Medicine, revealed that there were 19.4 more cases of fractures in vegans and 4.1 more cases in vegetarians for every 1,000 people over 10 years.(Snip) Researchers recruited nearly 55,000 healthy adults from the UK—meat eaters, pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans—to answer a questionnaire on diet, socio-demographic characteristics, lifestyle, and medical history between 1993 and 2001, and followed up with them in 2010.
By 2016, the study authors found 3,941 total fractures among the participants.

Bill Walton from UCLA under coach John Wooden, was a vegan. When he entered the NBA, he had constant ankle fractures, which hampered him during his whole pro career. I knew at the beginning, his diet was the problem.

Well of course. Dairy is a prime source of calcium and you can only eat so many beans

Am sure the study is flawed. But even so, makes for a bright spot in my morning.

I am not sure if it is vegan, but you can grind up oyster shells and eat them - very tasty when wrapped with kelp.

Some vegans also have hollow eyes and faces.

Lack of B12, as well. I think the lack of nutrients affects their brains and makes them angry & cray cray.
#6-Oyster shell would not be vegan because the shells are produced by an "animal".
My favorite moisturizer went vegan by taking out honey. Can't use the new vegan version because it's like applying Elmer's glue to your face.

Everyone I know who went vegan had to quit for health reasons. One almost died but was luckily saved by an alert EMT.

My troubled nephew, a 44 year-old failure to launch, just announced he is now vegan and "clear" of all toxins. He has changed his name to Iman Freeman. He thinks he's being clever. He has a job of caretaker for property in San Luis Obispo, and for some unknown reason he has a lovely young woman for a girlfriend he met a year and half ago. He's been an angry young man since his college years (I wondered how that happened? /s) but since his vegan decision he has become abrasive and insulting. He has successively embraced every New Age "spiritual" nonsense that comes down the pike and is currently enthralled by numerology. He has abandoned Catholicism and has become a bigot against his own faith tradition and the family. It is breaking his mother's heart.
I am his Godmother. His mother and I are in prayer warrior mode for his soul. Currently I am the only family member he still contacts on his own. I get the most insane emails and before answering pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I'm asking for prayers, I'm asking for help. I will not let Satan take a soul I promised to shepherd. This post may be inappropriate on this thread, but I need to share this burden on my heart.

Q: How can you tell someone's a vegan?
A: Don't worry, they'll tell you.

My brilliant younger brother is a veterinarian. Since he went vegan years ago, he is loco. (Although maybe the loco came first!) He is basically an atheist- his veganism is his religion. Sad.

Could just be Vegans are more likely to do activities like ride a bike or jog resulting in accidents, just saying.

Bless you, #11. I’ll send off my prayers for him.
#’s 11 and 13 remind me of a quote from GK Chesterton. He said it about vegetarians but it applies to vegans even more...
“Vegetarians are filled with self righteousness and gas.”

We are omnivores, you fools. Look at your teeth. They were designed to bite and tear meat AND vegetables, as available, and as needed.
Don't be so stupid.

More pious #me too. There is a PETA ad locally that asks "Does your food love you ?"
To glorify it more it's a "plant based diet" Yeah huh. More steak for me.
