Oregon Gov. Kate Brown urges residents

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown wants residents to call the police on their neighbors over violations of the state’s latest coronavirus shutdown, which includes a six-person limit on in-home gatherings. The temporary “freeze,” which went into effect Wednesday, restricts indoor at-home and social gatherings to six people from no more than two households, with no exceptions for Thanksgiving dinner get-togethers. In a Friday virtual interview with KGW-TV, Ms. Brown agreed that Oregonians should contact authorities if they see their neighbors hosting more than six people.

Well, that certainly feels like a Russia, Russia, Russia moment. Who the hell does she think she is? America, do you understand what is happening? This is only the beginning of 4 years of total control. Remember when Lindsey Graham said we had better hope that the Dems do not gain control? This is our moment to tell them to stick their head where the sun don’t shine. This is a scary moment.

2, it's what totalitarians do. They have everyone rat on their neighbors for made up offenses to keep everyone so busy distrusting each other they can never risk organizing against the government. Stalin and Hitler perfected it. China now just uses technology.

Well, if neighbors don't want anything to happen to their nice, shiny new cars or boats or some such, maybe they should mind their own business when people are just trying to live normally. Time would be better spent prosecuting politicians who break the 'law'.

#11 is right. Kids are susceptible to all sorts of crap promoted by busybody parents or the schools. Many moons ago our city was under water conservation measures so residents could only water on certain days. One weekend, I was repairing and replacing sprinkler heads on our water system and this required I turned it on from time to time to check if they were OK. I had turned on the water to check a sevtion and low and behold there was a girl maybe eight years old, on her bike, writing on her pad of paper about the sprinklers being on in violation of the rules. I looked at her and she rode off to report me to???? Now she is all grown up and is possibly the buttinski in chief of the neighborhood.

The Thug in NY state has been using the NY State Police as his personal 'enforcement' and intelligence squad for years. Just like the rat Governors before him. The scary thing is the State Police enthusiastically go along with any orders they are given. There must be some kind of new clause about valuing your pension over your oath. Maybe they changed the oath to a pledge of loyalty to one person. I read about that being done before, somewhere in Europe during the late 1930s.

American cities are entering a period of chaos. Protests and riots have dominated headlines, but beneath the surface, activists are launching an unprecedented campaign to overthrow the traditional justice system and replace it with a new model based on a radical conception of social justice. In Seattle, where this campaign may be most advanced, activists have crafted a narrative about police brutality, mass incarceration, and punitive justice that leads to a natural sequence of solutions: “abolish the police,” “divest from prisons,” and “defund the courts.” Over the past three decades, the city’s radical-progressives have seized control of municipal government—with the notable exception of the criminal-justice system,

When the dust settles from the 2000 election, House Democrats will find themselves with a very slender majority, possibly just four seats more than the majority threshold of 218. Whatever the precise number, the margin will be smallest in the House in two decades. Thus, just a few defections on any legislation will prevent the Democrats from passing it, unless some Republicans join them. Few if any Republican are likely to help the Dems pass anything controversial. The Washington Post tries to think through the new reality in this piece by Mike DeBonis. The article contains plenty of inside baseball, but will be of interest to some of our readers.

That assumes that the two “finished” vaccines get OKs by the Food and Drug Administration this month, and that production and distribution don’t somehow get screwed up.

Apparently the fact that Powell has shared none of her alleged evidence with anyone in Trump’s orbit finally made Trump’s attorneys doubt the promised emergence of a Kraken, even though they brought her to spout her poisonous absurdities at the RNC press conference last week. Powell has been interviewed by a bunch of high-profile right-wing media figures over the last two weeks, all of whom credited her. Do any of them mind that she evidently misled them?
