The Atlantic shocked readers with a polarizing feature that has been accused of promoting the mass abortion of children who are determined to have Down syndrome through prenatal testing -- but others feel the story is an important one that needed to be told.
NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck accused The Atlantic of cheering eugenics “and the murder of people with Down Syndrome, simply because of who God created them to be.”
“Everyone who works there should be ashamed,” Houck wrote.

Old news. Talk to Sara Palin. She's an expert on that topic.
Now start reporting about why the GOPs are silent and not openly standing behind President Trump and screaming VOTE FRAUD against the Democrats???

This is one of the many examples of the left getting ahead of themselves, and revealing their plans for us (the proles). Add to that $4/gallon gasoline, confiscation of 401ks, waiting in line for a needed surgery to be approved by the government...

The Atlantic wants us to be Iceland.
We have a nephew who has Down Syndrome. He is the joy of the family and I can’t imagine our lives without him.

There they go again, unloading dead babies with their pitchforks.

I knew this back in 1996. I should have switched my OB/GYN doctor at the time because he was insisting that I go through all of that testing. I told him no. Alas, he found a way around because of my unfamiliarity with medical testing. One of the results forced me into having an amniocentesis. Everything turned out okay but it introduced a lot of concern that my baby was okay and not suffering.
The Atlantic should be ashamed.

Great post #3! My wife worked with special needs kids. There's something about Downs kids. Whatever the genetic alignment, there seems to be a "Happiness" gene and a "Love" gene that shines in Downs kids. They were always a blessing to her!

China is practising genocide by eugenics. Naturally the left is all in with their take on it. China kills off down syndrome babies, exactly as Hitler's Germany did, and the left here in the USA are down for that struggle. Nothing could possibly surprise a thinking man.

Seems to me china tried this a long time ago...and their edict allowing only one child per couple was a disaster because couples only wanted male children... down the proverbial road... there were not enough women for marrying age men....another example of governments messing with the natural order...

Exactly 13 years ago this month, my son and his wife were expecting their second child. One of the tests came back showing he might, just might, have Down's syndrome. My son and D-I-L refused to have any more tests done to confirm it. Our grandson was born in February a perfectly healthy baby. The only thing wrong was when he was a few hours old, he started having trouble breathing and was found to have a partially collapsed lung which was fixed in no time. I wonder how many babies have been aborted because of a faulty test showing they have Down's syndrome but in reality there was nothing wrong with them.

Biden's chief health adviser is Zeke Emanuel, the Himmler of Healthcare. This article is a trial balloon for eugenics pre-birth. The next ones are euthanasia on demand and the withdrawal of any extraordinary medical treatment for those over 75. Emanuel is on the record for both, including the withdrawal of political rights from the developmentally disabled and those with cognitive impairments (except Joe of course, because he's useful). Emanuel is an evil, evil man and anything he does is suspect.

When andre botticelli's mother was pregnant she cought the flu. Her Dr. told her that her baby would not be perfect, and suggested an abortion, which she obviously declined.
Think about that.

Several years ago, I happened to land on an article from an Iceland news feed about people with Down syndrome. The comments on that article were terrifying. They were all about whether people have "value" based on their ability to contribute to society, and if they don't, they should be . . . murdered (killed off, aborted, or whatever other PC way you want to say it).
"Professing to be wise, they became fools!"

Re: #14’s reply, a year or two ago Iceland put out a PR announcement that the entire country was Down Syndrome free, as if this was some sort of genetic medical miracle. It turned out that they had reached zero by aborting all of the babies who tested positive for DS. Hence my comment in reply #3.

I don't want the suggest the assumption that any person has more right to live than any other, but --- sheer speculation --- I think the world would be, on the whole, a happier place following the death of all eugenicists, rather than the death of all Downs Syndrome people.

So if “improving the health of a nation by preventing the birth of those deemed to be burdens on society” will ease societal burdens, why does the left continue to advocate for open borders, mass immigration, and amnesty?
Imported poverty, to resume under Joe Biden, has already burdened Americans far more than allowing children with Down syndrome to live. They are innocent.
Imported criminals and the politicians who look the other way are not.
