With the coronavirus raging out of control and hospitals nearing capacity, state and local leaders are facing once more the gut-wrenching decision of whether to order shutdowns. But many are finding the call much harder to make this time — eight months after cities and states last implemented weeks-long shutdowns — amid angry backlashes, deeply polarized constituents and dire economic consequences. Chicago was the first major city to announce, on Thursday, a reinstatement of stay-at-home advisory. On Friday, New Mexico followed suit with the country’s most restrictive statewide measures since the fall surge began. Oregon also announced a partial shutdown

I think ill not participate. Protect the vulnerable and let the chips fall where they may. Lockdowns only prolong the inevitable

Yes, all you shut down nazis can just go to Hades. I have been eating in restaurants at least two nights per week, often more since about April, and the biggest barrier is the stupid, illegal government rules. Last night our Friday night restaurant was filled, almost every table in use. That was good to see, and the manager said that they had been getting really good business for the last few weeks, finally.
LEAVE US ALONE.

Dems, with China’s assistance, brought this virus to our shores for the sole purpose of creating regulations in order to stop normal American lives, keep us from family, jobs, places of worship. This is the evil of the Democrat party.

It's not about controlling the virus, it's about controlling us. Still working on why, but it's been a nothing burger, as disease goes.

These idiots pay absolutely no attention to Europe which have locked down for months, and they have increases in the Chinese virus larger than the U.S. I think most people were willing to adhere to the lock downs for a while, but I think the majority of people either don't know anyone who has had the virus, or know people who have had it, but were fine after a few days. Therefore the view that this virus is the end of the world illness the politicians and the media keep pushing doesn't hold water anymore. Now with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming, people after experiencing a little more freedom this summer than last spring, aren't going to be sheep anymore. I've noticed many more people forgetting masks when going into a store, or just going about their business and living their lives. The media generated fear of everyone dying if they get this virus has come and gone for most people.

A note to Colorado's Gov. Polis - try it here, sir, and expect that next recall petition and vote to remove you. And stay away from western Colorado. You and your husband can stay at home all you want.

Coronavirus is not “raging out of control.” It is cold and flu season, yet these illnesses are being medically attributed to Covid-19. Testing sites are testing until they get a positive result, and listing each time they test as a case. Hospitals allowed themselves to get out of control with elective surgeries, once they were able to perform them again, combined with the fact that they have so frightened the willing in this country, that those people are convinced that they have the disease. I’ve seen people go test with a sniffle, “just to be safe.” There are 2 types of people in this world: those who buy into this charade, and those that don’t, and those that don’t are painted as selfish, uneducated, rabble-rousers that must be silenced.

The desire to DO SOMETHING is what is driving this BS. Liberals have dug a big hole for themselves - they criticized Trump, and now they're caught in a web of their own making. Doing nothing isn't an option for them.

San Diego County was re-shut down for the 3rd time last night by the dictator 700 miles north. Seems our numbers of tests have gone up 50% since a couple months ago (from 10K to 15K a day) so of course the number of positive cases has gone up so shut it down is the answer/goal.

New Mexico has a much shorter version of Governor Whitmer as Governor. She suffers from the female version of Napoleon's Syndrome. Our numbers here should not warrant total restrictions but instead to isolate certain areas. We are not a densely populated state, but this governor wants to totally destroy the whole state and play big shot politics with other Democrat women in the party. Insurrection is not an impossibility.
This country has been duped with what a positive case actually is. I have said from the beginning the testing is flawed and a catch all of other viruses as well, therefore giving false positives. Maybe, it was designed to do that.

Let's see. 8 months after a 2 week shutdown the virus for what it's worth is still around and what we need is another shutdown ? Maybe put the sick people in nursing homes again too.
I'll tell you who the hell needs to shut down.

Keep us shut down, force us to buy electric cars with minimal range, mandate Green energy, to limit use of electricity, bankrupt small business, and force us to inject substances into our bodies that may or may not work, or be safe. All objectors will be subject to fines, and or prison time. Yet the MSM trumpets there is no such thing as Marxist Socialism being put in place. How bad does it have to get before people wake up?

Dementia Jo wants a single standard for the entire country. He first said he would impose the standard, and then his handlers at the memory unit in the basement told him he could not.
Then Dementia Jo said he would talk with every public official in the U.S., encouraging them to impose the single standard.

Imagine a world in which Harris is confirmed as the next President. In that world, Trump should consider announcing, five weeks before the inauguration, that in 7 days the USA is going to go into a 6-week lockdown.
Since Trump did it, the Dems would have to scream that it was the wrong thing to do.
This has the additional advantage of handing to Ms. Harris the worst economy ever. Watch her dig us out of it.

Lorie, the Lightfoot Lesbian is grabbed by the throat over 1000 possible deaths?? C'mon man!!! What should have grabbed her throat was the murder stats showing how much black on black crime she has in her city. But that's something she supports so hence the silence.

There is no evidence that shutdowns work.
(See how easy that is?)

What hospitals are approaching capacity. WaPo throws out claims and provides no evidence. I want a list of hospitals nearing capacity from Covid, and a sworn affadavit from the CEO that this is true.

Most of the 'skyrocketing' is in the blue states that are stomping on the constitution. There are consequences for acting outside the laws democrats. Now you are seeing some of it in action.

I suspect this whole Covid-19 thing will be declared over as soon as Biden is crowned President. After all, he successfully created all those new vaccines according to the main stream media. /s/
