Amid a spike in coronavirus cases in the state, Democrat New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lynn Lujan Grisham has issued a stay-at-home order and demanded nonessential businesses close for 14 days.
According to Grisham, a two-week shutdown, set to begin on November 16, will attempt to curb the spread of the virus in the state. “We are in a life-or-death situation, and if we don’t act right now, we cannot preserve the lives, we can’t keep saving lives, and we will absolutely crush our current health care system and infrastructure,” Grisham said.
Non-essential businesses include hair salons, gyms, and spas.

Time to 'just say No'.
No authority for this.

A Governor can place their entire state under house arrest with an executive order? What kind of country is that? No legislature, no judicial review, no Central Committee. Stalin would be jealous.

This has to stop. All the quarantine and masking in the world won't end this virus. But petty state officials sure feel empowered to boss their people around. Plus if you haven't noticed, we have a new industry in the world, mask making. Even chic fashion houses make them now. Wonder how many city officials they've bribed to 'mandate' masks.

The Peoples Republic of Colorado may soon be issuing a similar order. The chicoms must be laughing in their sleep as to how easy it was to destabilize our country.

Didn't we already try this strategy? And in some states, maybe for months? What's that old saying about doing the same thing and expecting different results? Wasn't it called "flatten the curve"? Oh wait, no...it was "flatten the economy and blame it on the orangemanbad in order to defeat him".

The governor of West Virginia just went full fascist with a 100% mask mandate and threatening to charge violators with obstruction of justice and close businesses that dont enforce it. Funny, he seemed like a pretty reasonable guy till he got re-elected. Now he is at best a McCain rino. Thanks a lot Jim Justice. You have taken a good state and turned it into New York.

I thought Covid was over last Saturday after BiteMe declared that he is the president. All those gatherings and celebrations...the revelers didn't give social distancing or mask wearing a second thought. No contact tracing. No fines. No recriminations. No Covid worries.
Every leftist who has power to wield is still getting a Big Fat Paycheck and... they are despicable.

All businesses are ESSENTIAL for the livelihood and welfare of the owners, the employees, and those they serve.

This is really quite the joke, the entire state is mostly rural small towns with the exception of Albuquerque. AND how did NM end up so poor, all the surrounding states, particularly Utah, have significantly better infrastructure?
