Food Network celebrity chef Alton Brown has apologized after being roasted for making “flippant” remarks about the Holocaust on Twitter.
In his since-deleted tone-deaf post Tuesday night, Grubstreet.com reported, the “Good Eats: Reloaded” host said: “Do you think the camp uniforms will be striped, like the ones at Auschwitz or will plaid be in vogue?”
After a user said it “depends on what you’re worth when you go in,” Brown replied: “I have no gold fillings.”
When another person warned him, “Yikes dude. Take it easy,” Brown fired back with, “F— you.”
On Wednesday, the creator of “Good Eats” cooked up a mea culpa for his offensive tweets.

I like Alton Brown, and will watch the new show. IMO, the cooking contests were literally unwatchable, and I am glad that he is past that crap.
I have watched all of Good Eats, and have all the books, and have used a number of his recipes. I don't always agree with his "take" on some dishes, but always willing to watch, learn and occasionally, to try.
I am an engineer who does cook, always have, since I was a kid and my mother taught me a number of her dishes.

Would like to know the genesis of his original tweet. Is he on the Trump train and frightened of a dem backlash against those on Sandy Cortez' list?
Like #3, I'm an engineer (not licensed' just a couple of degrees) and I always enjoy Alton's explanation of the science behind some of the ingredients. And my day always starts with one of his fruit smoothies. The scripted, rehearsed, politically-correct "contest" shows are a joke and total waste of time.

Eating Asphalt was one of his best series. That is all

Weird thing to say. Overwrought and hyperbole. Anti Semitic? Eh, I wish my fellow Jews would play that card about 99% less and focus on actual malicious actors like Kamala, AOC, the ugly one that married her brother and the like.
I also want to know the context, as the squad has called for re-education camps for Republicans. Alton is a smart guy. But he’s in the entertainment business. He could be liberal or conservative.

For me, there's no context where joking about Auschwitz is acceptable.

WWII and the Holocaust are the greatest tragedies in human history. Apologies are not enough. Anyone who makes these kinds of statements should never work in media again.

#8, you substantially underestimate the brutality and extreme destruction wrought by Genghis Khan and his hordes as they overran Russia and down into the Middle East. In most cases they literally slaughtered 100% of the people in each conquered city, and burned it. It is possible that the total number may be higher in the Holocaust than in the Khan genocide, but certainly no difference in brutality and hideous disregard for human life. And then there was Stalin's murdering of the Ukrainians, and Pol Pot, much more recently.
The best estimates are that between 100 and 150 million human beings were murdered by Communists/Marxists in the 20th century alone. Compare that to 6 million Jews. Please understand that I am NOT intending to downplay the horror of the Holocaust, or cast the slightest doubt on it's reality, just noting that there are many other horrors that have been visited, and it is too easy to forge the others, and focus on this one more recent and well documented one. Man's inhumanity to man is difficult for us to grasp, I think, but the history is there to read. I went to many museums in Russia and Ukraine....learned much more about Genghis Khan's predations on them.

Pretty stupid.
But we will quickly find out if he is a Republican or Demon-Rat. If he is a Republican, his career and life are over. If he is a Demon-Rat, this will be swept under the run and you will be expected to forget about it in 3-2-1.

It's amazing how easy it is to identify liberals/democrats these days. I've started making a game of figuring out strangers' politics, and as soon as I realize I'm talking to a Biden supporter, I hightail it. It's getting more difficult to find a calm, well-mannered, sensible Democrat; maybe they're becoming extinct.

Feasting on Asphalt.
I always wanted him to do a 5th episode starting from Key West eating Florida lobster and Key Lime pie and whatever Hemingway drank.
Up to Brunswick and Savannah for shrimp. South Carolina for crab. Boston, clam chowder. Baked beans. Finally ending in Maine and back to lobster.

Some people should not speak and verify their ignorance. This is what a liberal education gets you.
