It was going to be a hard day. Keith Mannes prayed he was doing right. He got into his car and drove past harvested cornfields and "Keep America Great!" signs. He parked, walked a few steps and opened the door to his church. A pastor for decades, he stood before a few dozen congregants. He knew them all, their histories, struggles and joys. That is the way of things here. He told them he loved them and asked for forgiveness. But he couldn't go on as before. Most church members supported President Trump, he said, and Mannes could no longer

This dude is a liberal who has masked himself as a "Conservative". Doesn't his entire reasoning smack the face of what he did for a living? Now he's complaining about it? There are reasons for policies that President Trump set forth, and just because they (libs) refuse to acknowledge those reasons, that is THEIR problem. Trump deals with Reality, whereas libs reason with "feelings".
Its sad that these libs allow the media to tell them what to think/feel. That is so weak, it's frightening.

The pastor thought Trump was "evil," so he supported Biden who is for abortion, sodomy, and other hosts of deviant behavior.
Talk about "strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel."

Because Jesus taught us to preach his word only to those who think exactly as we do. This guy not preaching is a gift from God. Now he can go violently attack non-believers of the word of Marx like the rest of his fellow commies.

Being at a loss for words it’s not usually one of my problems. This, however, leaves me speechless and just shaking my head! Not wanting to vote FOR Trump might be one thing. But to openly be a Biden supporter means you have no moral compass whatsoever. Fool yourself if you want!

I couldn’t stomach to read the entire Poor Me article. I do have this observation. This pastor judges President Trump to not be sufficiently Christian to earn his vote. Yet he will vote for a man who exposes himself to female Secret Service agents, pets children in public, inappropriately touches and sniffs the hair of random women, and has raised up a family of children and grandchildren with socially extreme ideas regarding appropriate sexual conduct. Maybe he needs someone to help him dig that huge mote from his eye.

Propaganda from the Hive Mind. Is the guy even real? Somewhat real? “Paid actors were used in this dramatization”?
It’s the sort of story that would appeal to Hive Mind mentalities.

Fake news along the lines of “Humble Preacher With a Conscience Finally Sees the Light and It’s Joe Biden.” My family spent several summers in Saugatuck in the early-mid ‘60’s and there was a large gay subculture there then. Saugatuck is very nice and is to Chicago what Provincetown is to Boston or as Fire Island or New Hope, PA are to NYC. It isn’t a sleepy conservative town and this pastor is either a great fool or has been living a lie about his faith and beliefs possibly for the tantalus of a pension. He knows he can now write a book and make a small fortune.

So he wants America to become a Socialist/Communist country and go into a recession led by a deviant old man who has dementia. I don't think that is what God plans for America. Has the pastor ever been to Venezuela or Cuba or any other Communist country and seen what they go through? Has he ever been to China which will blackmail the Bidens? This pastor is really mixed up and his congregation should be glad to see him gone.

This 'Pastor' said that he "had to follow the voice of his heart".
The Bible says "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jer. 17:9.

Yes, Republicans are as evil as everyone else.. "there is none righteous, no, not one". But the Democrat Party and Joe Biden are advocates of abortion. Simple.

Many of the pharisees believed Jesus was evil also. A pastor who indulges themselves in self-righteousness has no place being a pastor to begin with.

Another example of leftist clergy trying to have their influence on their congregations. The pulpit has become their soapbox. When PC USA started supporting BLM, I quit attending our church and I've been an active member 25+ years. They're welcome to believe and preach what they want, but I don't need to support it.

This pastor's terminal case of psychosis of liberalism has left him hopelessly confused, and living in abject denial.
Consider this: the "separation of church and state" is a major priority for the left...Biden included. It's how Christian democrats rationalize their support abortion rights. For a Christian pastor, this single democrat 'doctrine' alone should determine which party you support...but Mannes has simply ignored it.
If Mannes has truly "gone left," as he indicates, then he must realize that imposing a standard of Christian morality on a candidate so the candidate can strip all Christian morality from government is not only crazy, but is about as anti-God as you can get.
He needs to turn his prayer about 'scales falling off' upon himself, and quickly!

He must watch CNN and MSNBC, which means he is a leftist at heart, seeking confirmation for his leftist views.
The parish is good to be rid of him.

Well the fact that he only had a few dozen in the congregation after years of preaching tells me a lot.
This Michigan church is most fortunate that they were able to frustrate him into leaving.
Hopefully the church will make sure their search committee has the discernment to avoid "hirelings" next time.

Not much of a Pastor, the congregation is better off without him. By using the Trump is evil and I can't preach to his supporters is simply another way for him to call his own parishioners evil. Not much of a affirmation of his effectiveness if after 12 years of his leadership all he has done is foment evil (in his own vacuous mind anyway). My advice to him is quit the cloth, you will be much better off selling shoes.
The most damaging development in politics over the last 15 years is this concept (predominate on the left but gaining ground on the right as well) that people who hold political views opposite ours are evil and therefore can be dismissed out of hand, isolated and exorcised from society. This is dangerous.

What does he really believe about the Gospel of Christ? It appears that politics is of higher priority to him. If so, they are lucky to find a new pastor dedicated to The Bride of Christ (The Church)! The Christian Church is not about United States politics! It never has been and never will be and it shouldn't be! "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's"... Pretty clear indication that Christ did not come to preach about politics! God is in control no matter what and a Christian should accept that and work for Gospel!

He's got all the dem talking points down pretty good. You should rate a man by his deeds. Trump has helped more people, especially poor people, in 3+ years that any president. Biden has done very little, except enable abortion, and make himself and his family very rich, while lying about it all along.

Why quit your job preaching if you feel your strongly held beliefs are truly what God/Jesus/the Bible intended? Is the problem that Mannes wanted the Churches teaching to be as he wished them to be rather than to be as they are written? Mannes penned an article "Why are Christians so Mean?". He believes that Christian beliefs and people standing up their beliefs make them mean and intolerant. Yet he backs Democrats who are so intolerant to anyone who does not believe as they do that they go so far as to politically and personally destroy people. Like the US Constitution, the Bible say what it says and means what it means. It cannot mean what you wish it to mean.

Any pastor who cannot embrace an honest man who puts his nation's interests first should find another church in line with his personal support of the immorality of the world. That is basically what he is saying here with his petulant tantrum. May this church now fill to the rafters with congregants now that this pastor is gone.

Churches attract slobs like this, just as the military has to put up with liars who buy a uniform and pretend to be heroes, or scoutmasters who are pedophiles. He is obviously the evil one he talks about. Instead of preaching the lessons of Jesus, he lords over people like he is some kind of moral authority worthy of judging anyone. His congregation should have spotted this phony years ago, but people want to gather to worship, so they tolerate liars like this.

This man is a prime example of why people are giving up on organized religion. Not God, but organized churches where donations are encouraged to purchase a chance at salvation. Why do God fearing people need a "middle man" when speaking to his/her GOD? So let me get this straight. A self proclaimed man of God is supporting Biden, a man that fully supports the killing of unborn babies in their mothers wombs up to the time of birth. At best "pastor" Mannes is a hypocrite.

I think Pastor Mannes has been living in the closet his whole life. He's a closet liberal holding himself out as a "lifetime Republican." He gets a sense of liberation from coming out and announcing that he can't vote the Republican ticket this year.
I get the sense he'll soon be coming out from another closet.

Leader of Women's Bible Studies Beth Moore, of Houston, is a Biden supporter as are many of her followers. She is a principle in Lifeway (Southern Baptist) Women Studies. I told my pastor I would NEVER AGAIN do another Beth Moore Study. Supporting Biden who supports third term abortion and the death of the oil industry (while living in the Oil Capital of the World) is not a problem for Beth Moore.
