The University of Wisconsin-Madison student government recently approved a resolution that calls for the removal of a statue of Abraham Lincoln on campus. The resolution claims that the statue is a “racist remnant” of “white supremacy.” (Snip) The resolution, which passed by unanimous consent, was drafted by student Kevin Jacobson. Jacobson argued that the Lincoln statue should be removed because it was donated by newspaper owner Richard Lloyd Jones, who was controversial for his stances on a number of issues.

Ancestors on my mother's side were Wisconsinites. In the ancestry one man is listed as having fought for the Union and another listed as having fought for the Confederacy. BOTH are listed as veterans of the United States.

Good - take 'em down, take ALL the statues down. You want a statue - put it up in your own yard. With your own money. No more statues on public grounds with public money. Because when YOU put up one - I don't care if it's a cute lil bunny rabbit - it will be my pleasure to bray and honk how offended I am and demand it's removal. Plant a tree. No sign posting about why you planted it. I promise: I WILL be offended.

I’m sure President Trump can find a spot for it in his upcoming National Garden of American Heroes where it will be respected revered and honored and appreciated. U of W-M can put up a statue of Hunter Biden in honor of his work in international business and contributions to the humanities and the arts.

If I ever start a business, I can't imagine hiring a college grad in any discipline except for engineering or a hard science. I'd rather go with a candidate who'd completed an apprencticeship and had fabulous references. If a student has so much time on his hands that he can run around protesting and tearing down statues, his mind obviously has not been challenged by the educational experience.

They know nothing #8. Nothing. I have posted here before that I had a young lady in my office who saw a Civil War map in my office and asked if I had fought in that war. She didn’t have a clue. She couldn’t have named any war or any seminal event that occurred in this country. Nothing. Maybe 9-11 because it was fairly recent but she would be unaware of who the savages were who perpetrated the murderous event. Sad, really. She would, of course, had been brainwashed about social justice and the great MKL Jr and black history month. That’s about it. She would be qualified to be a retail clerk but only because the register tells her what the return change should be. If I were king I what disband the Department of Education, close all the public schools and tell the country to form all private schools. Vice President Joe Biden addressed a drive-in rally Friday afternoon in a parking lot in St. Paul, Minnesota — and was drowned out by the honking of Donald Trump supporters in their cars.During the course of his speech, Biden repeatedly snapped at the Trump fans, who protested his visit outside the fence.“These guys are not very polite, but they’re like Trump,” Biden said, raising his hand towards the pro-Trump crowd. “They’re gonna be okay. We’re gonna take care of them as well. We need to come together. Need to fight for all these folks.”

Publication by the New York Post two weeks ago of emails from Hunter Biden's laptop, relating to Vice President Joe Biden's work in Ukraine, and subsequent articles from other outlets concerning the Biden family's pursuit of business opportunities in China, provoked extraordinary efforts by a de facto union of media outlets, Silicon Valley giants and the intelligence community to suppress these stories. One outcome is that the Biden campaign concluded, rationally, that there is no need for the front-running presidential candidate to address even the most basic and relevant questions raised by these materials. Rather than condemn Biden for ignoring these questions --

Everyone laughs at this. There is a truth to our line, though, one that hints at possibilities that are much more complex than whatever genitalia our child might be born with: the truth that we ultimately have no idea who—rather than what—is growing inside my belly. Who will this person be? What kind of person will we become parents to?
