Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court by the Senate Monday evening, filling the vacancy left by liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.(Photo) The vote was nearly entirely along party lines: Senator Susan Collins of Maine was the only Republican to dissent, voting with all 47 members of the Democratic Caucus against the conservative Trump nominee over concerns of the proximity to the election. The final vote was 52-48."Because this vote is occurring prior to the election, I will vote against the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett," Collins said in a statement over the weekend.

Drama queen Susan Collins proves once again (and again, and again), that she really wants to be a democrat. I hope the republicans can maintain control of the Senate without her. I hope her senatorial career comes to an end next week. Very unreliable, Not a team player.

It was easy this time. I hope the Republicans have tolerated the last Kavanaugh fiasco, and will follow the Barrett procedure forward. Barrett is so qualified and well spoken that there was no way not to confirm her. Best performance by a nominee I have ever witnessed. John Roberts I hope will have a lot less opportunities for his smirks. Disgusting.

And that silly, rino, indescribable woman begs me for money for her reelection on a daily basis. She should have changed parties years ago.

Collins' vote was not needed and would likely have decreased her chance for re-election to the Senate.
Asking her to do that FOR NO GOOD POLITICAL REASON would be politically stupid.
I'm sure that Collins was give a pass by McConnell.
Well played, Mitch.

Always the SKUNK at the party. All her colleges are celebrating at the whitehouse with the President. I hope she's proud of herself. This will be her legacy, she could never be counted on when the chips were down for the republicans.
I hope she is shunned by her colleges.

#9, ridiculous. The "chips were very clearly NOT down", and that is why she was given a pass.

#8 maybe the GOP voters in Maine wanted her to vote for ACB. Maybe they can’t tell the difference between her and a dimocrat. She might lose as a result of this vote, being too clever by half.

Collins represents a liberal state and is continually hanging on by the skin of her teeth. She had to vote no in order to hold her seat and no doubt did so with McConnell's approval since he had the votes to cover the win. Sometimes that's how you have to play the game.

I must have a bad memory. As I recall Collins answered the call when her support was needed for Kavanough. She gave one heck of a speak on the Senate floor in support of Kavanaugh, when it really counted.

Suzy's days are numbered. Once Stephen King moved out of Bangor, I thought that the most brain-dead liberal had left the state. I was wrong.

Collins voting record in Senate since 2016 states 66% of the time she votes against President Trump.

#16, yes, that sounds about right. But the only alternative is a Dem who will vote against Trump 100% of the time, and may hand the reigns over to UpChuck.
Is that Better?
IMO a 33% vote agreement, and keeping the Senate reigns of power is better than the alternaive.
And the alternative is NOT a conservative Republican Senator from Maine, at least not this decade.

Turd in the punchbowl. Vote her out - even if a democrat gains the seat - you will know what you have to deal with instead of the child that needs to be coaxed.
