The Strand Bookstore needs your help. A staple of New York City that was founded in 1927 by the late Benjamin Bass, the indie bookshop is in danger of closing due to the current conditions caused by the on-going pandemic. Current owner Nancy Bass Wyden sent out a call for help on Friday, stating in an open letter shared on the store's social media pages that "The Strand's revenue has dropped nearly 70 percent compared to last year." "And while the loan we were given and our cash reserves allowed us to weather the past eight months of losses," she
Wonder if they've contacted their mayor and governor yet?

Any business owners that survive the indifference of democrat leadership need to see what direction the people of NYC choose in their next election. If AOC and her comrades are the choice of New Yorkers, then any hope of a secure, recovered business in that city is seriously in peril of success.

The mayor of New York City and Governor of New York have enacted policies they claim are required for the health and safety of residents of those jurisdictions. The fate of Strand Bookstore is one of many results of those political policies.
Residents are able to voice their displeasure at the politicians and act accordingly at the polls.

Nancy Bass Wyden is a multi-millionaire. Let her put her own money into it and suffer the consequences from her husband Senator Ron Wyden who continues to lock down America like all of the Democrats.

Not only is the owner a multi-millionaire, she has already gotten over a million in covid small business loans. Another phony hard luck story.

I've been to The Strand many times - - and I can guarantee you that 99+% of their customers voted for Cuomo and De Blasio.
Vote Socialist - - Go Broke

Perhaps Landrew cumoh just needs to put the owner in a covid incubation center for the elderly. Just to straighten her mind out of its capitalistic greed.

Why do I get my news exclusively from Lucianne (well, Tucker, too)? Because of the insight provided by posters such as those above who provide conveniently-missing facts that present the rest of the story. Once again - thanks, to all.

well, let's see....For 50 years or more, the liberals have been dumbing down education to the point that many high school grads can neither read or write well. Nobody on the left buys and reads books anymore. Why bother when all you have to do is Twitter in 162 character messages. Too bad, so sad.

‘Hey, Nancy Bass-Wyden, how about you sell some stocks and bail yourself out.
‘You've already taken PPP money and still fired most of your employees.’
‘Don't fall for this. Nancy Bass Wyden - married to Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon - owns the building that Strand resides in, has taken PPP loans and invested in AMAZON stock, and wasn't providing PPE for employees.’
‘Non-New Yorkers losing their minds over the Strand news: you should know that the owner, Nancy Bass Wyden, owns the building, has bought Amazon stock, and hates the store’s union.’

Let her eat cake, like the elitist she is. Hey Ron, when are you actually going to live in your Oregon district again, huh? You really need to run in NYC since you have lived there now for over a decade with your Oregon hating wife.

As a former NY'er who lived there for 46 years (still 23!) I am so glad that I read all the posts. I almost lived in Strand Bookstore because I frequented it so much. Students are always poor and you saved yourself quite a bit of $$$. Who knew that this Bass dame owned it and the Wyden creep who I detest almost more than other dems and you know who they are. I say let the Strand go under since Bass has enough money, ditto her husband. Great suggestion, let her ask the 2 commies who run the state and the city for help, Wilhelm and Cuomo!
