On the eve of Judge Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation by the Judiciary Committee, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer tweeted:"I am forcing a vote to adjourn the Senate until after the November election. We are not going to have business as usual here in the Senate while the Republicans try to use an illegitimate process to jam through a Supreme Court nominee."Even before Schumer said that, Committee Democrats were talking about boycotting today's committee hearing. But Sen. #1: it is Marbury v Madison. Mayberry was the mythical village on TV. And Schumer has a bad case of butt hurt. And the Dems ended the filibuster some years ago, so all they can do now is endless quorum calls. Send the Marshalls, round up the rogue renegade Senators, and herd them in. #1 "Court Packing": adding and filling new seats to the Supreme Court for political advantage. FDR tried it and failed. Adams did NOT try it. He just filled many circuit judge and justice of the peace positions at the end of his term. That is not Court Packing. Maybury was about Jefferson's refusal to deliver the Commissions that had already been passed by Adams and the Senate. Chief Justice Marshall was the Secretary of State that signed the Commissions that were before his court. Maybe the word "recuse" wasn't invented yet.

Hilarious! When I worked for the Navy, I kept a clipboard outside my office with a stack of "Hurt Feelings Report" forms. It was masterfully designed, with numbered blocks and responses and a fabricated form number designation in the lower right-hand corner. It asked questions such as "Circle the amount of hurt you experienced (1=low, 10=unbearable)". Can't help but wonder if Kennedy is speaking of the same "Hurt Feelings Report". Kennedy is a treasure. He views the world with a Mark Twainish perspective!

#13. I agree that "packing" was incorrect in M v M but it is in vogue and being misused in the current ACB nomination so that is why I used it. Points are that what is being done with ACB is constitutional and precedent - the argument that judicial appointments should wait for the next president was not observed in 1801.Adams lame duck appointments were intended to thwart Jefferson's presidency - not unlike Obama "packing" the NSC on his way out of office. BTW Madison was SOS.

Since announcing his candidacy for President in 2015, Donald Trump has dominated the national news cycle — largely to the benefit of legacy media companies. As a growing amount of their airtime centered upon their hatred of the businessman turned politician, many witnessed sharp increases in their audience sizes. The New York Times, for instance, saw more subscriptions in the last three months of 2016 than all of 2015 combined. During election week in 2020, CNN saw a 135% increase in viewership over the first week of November 2019. After the inauguration of President Biden, however, legacy media saw double-digit drops in their viewership.

Democrats call their current massive spending bill a "COVID relief" bill, but the half-trillion-dollar bailout of state governments has nothing to do with COVID-19 relief. Plenty of states are doing poorly fiscally, but generally, this has nothing to do with the pandemic and everything to do with their own mismanagement. This was a disputed point back in the spring, but no more. The numbers are in. The coronavirus has not left most states struggling for revenue the way people originally expected. The Congressional Budget Office is anticipating 4.6% economic growth in 2021. That surge, which will come along with the lifting of coronavirus restrictions, will serve as its own stimulus package

There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred.
