Is this another reason the FBI hid the
Hunter Biden laptop?

It didn’t surprise the informed, and understandably a bit cynical, to hear that the FBI sat on Hunter Biden’s laptop instead of seeking justice. The bureau was previously involved in an illegal plot to take down Donald Trump, after all, and its Deep State elements would assuredly love to see Joe Biden succeed him in January. So why would they reveal damning information on their establishment hope? Yet suppressing Huntergate perhaps provided a secondary benefit:
The information could be used against Biden once he was in office.
This wouldn’t be anything new. It’s believed that longtime, legendary FBI director J. Edgar Hoover used “dirt files” on politicians for leverage;

OP clarification: Jill would have thrown Hunter under the bus. (But you knew that.)

Yes, the FBI apparently likes to have some 'leverage'.
This sort of thing probably is the reason that Dread Judge Roberts has become a leftist, on command.

The Obama KGB-Gestapo - all 17 spy agencies, must be de-funded, dismantled, demolished.
Fire everybody to clear out the moles.
Start over & rebuild with vetted, Constitutional, non-political patriots

As long as Wray is head of the FBI, nothing will happen, fire him now.

I cringe and want to throw something at the TV whenever Hannity goes into his perpetual "99% of FBI agents are decent, honorable, honest and hard working!". When's Sean going to wake up? The head has long since rotted. Does he still think the rot hasn't seeped everywhere?
Pray that Trump wins and comes out in a mood to say "You're fired!" to a multitude of deserving employees, starting with Wray!

The FBI sat on the laptop to avoid harm to Biden's campaign (and to be especially favored** if Biden is elected). They might try to use the laptop emails to blackmail Biden for many other purposes, but it's unlikely to kick him out of the White House. Biden would tell them: "If you try, you're all going down with me." The 25th Amendment would be a much better option.
** Currying favor is what James Comey was doing with the phony FICA Court applications.
He was betting on Hilary winning.

I wonder if the FBI now realize that if they were going to use the laptop for 'leverage' on Biden, they would be way to the back of a long, long line of corrupt countries. By the time it was their turn there would be nothing left to 'leverage.'

This writer makes a very good point to explain the FBI delay here. The laptop was received by the FBI in September 2019, as my memory serves. What has the FBI been doing on this all that time, especially since this would have been EXCULPATORY evidence in the Impeachment farce??
Biden-gate is just beginning... whatever will the Democrats do?

I was one who hoped that many FBI agents below the executive level remain worthy of trust. That hope has dissipated as the misbehavior continued. Sustained corruption in an organization's leadership causes the rot to consume it. As employees witness unpunished misbehavior, more are tempted to join in or just ignore it. I believe that such is the case at the FBI.
Dismantle it, and start over.

On the subject of leverage, even Jill:
Since the criminality in question could, apparently, put Hunter in prison along with destroying China Joe, the leverage is profound. It could not only be used to control Biden but also his wife, Jill, in the unlikely event she for a time is able to pull off an Edith Wilson (who supposedly ran the show when Woodrow Wilson became incapacitated). She wouldn’t want to see her family’s reputation ruined, after all, and we in addition have to wonder about her level of complicity.
The leverage could also be used to compel a resignation and clear the deck for Kamala Harris, should elevating her be the Deep State’s desire. Besides, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have dirt on her, too. Given what we know about Harris — sleeping her way to the middle, not prosecuting sex abuse cases involving the rich and powerful, etc. — just imagine what we don’t know.

I hope if Pres. Trump loses that the GOP will impeach Biden. Of course, that would leave Comrade Harris in the Oval Office. If you read the article, go to the other article on the same page by Michael Gaynor. It will make your hair stand on end!

The FBI needs an adequate purge to rid it of evil actors. There will be no perception of equal justice for all until several layers of management from the top down are fired and it needs to happen soon.

I am coming to believe that the CIA, FBI, NSA and DIA have been the true seat of power in the US.
The article makes a good case for the power in holding the information on those drives.

#6, a good friend, and his wife both worked for the FBI for 25 years or more. Both are totally honest people, and my friend is very unhappy about Comey and the others being criminals.
So, I am personally certain that at least some FBI folks are honest, but I will bet that the crooks in charge cycle them through DC (a job requirement for advancement) and select the crooked/flexible ones for higher positions, let the Boy Scout types go back to the field offices and obscurity.

James Comey, Peter Strozk (sp?), Lisa Page. Just the tip of the iceberg for those of you who think the majority of FBI agents are honest.

#18, around 35,000 people work in the FBI. If even 500 are corrupt traitors, that leaves 98.6 of them honest folks. Well over a majority. For "the majority of FBI" to be crooked would mean 17,600 bad folks.....I suppose it is possible, but not likely.
OTOH. I think that 100% of the folks in the DC office need to go. ALL OF THEM. Get a 'known honest' SAC from a midwestern field office to start over at the top. Build it new.
NO MORE Federal Prosecutors running the FBI. They are not LE mindset types.

Duke runs the table on the possibilities re leverage, although I believe Jill Biden (who is not Hunter’s mother) would have thrown him under the bus long ago if she could have. This is a great article. Duke develops his theme very convincingly.
