The surest way to convince people that they ought to pay attention to something is to tell them they shouldn’t be allowed to see it. About a century ago, when Boston had a municipal movie censor, producers vied to be “banned in Boston” as a way of convincing the public to flock to their flicks. This century’s version of the same lesson is called “The Streisand effect,” after the singer drew attention to her lavish seaside estate in California by attempting to suppress aerial pictures taken of it. Nobody ever said Joe Biden was a quick learner.

I was listening to that lying weasel turncoat Smirconish this AM saying that it doesn't make sense for a Yale educated guy like Hunter to leave behind an incriminating lap top at a local computer store. For gosh sakes, loser, Hunter is a skank banging crackhead. Of course he could have left it behind. He's fried too many brain cells.

Also, BFD is a Bidenism, although he used the whole expression, not just the acronym, in an audible aside during a press conference with Obama. But that's minor compared with Lifson's conclusion, which would be disqualifying to Biden if we had even a semi-honest press, which we don't. FTA: "If these texts are accurate and mean what they seem to mean at first look, then Hunter was acting as a bagman for bribes paid to his father. It doesn't get any more scandalous than a drug-addicted, skank-banging adult child acting a bagman for a vice president who is his father." So Hunter didn't hoover up and whore up all that money he collected. His father got a big vig. Really big vig. Damned corruptocrats. These people ought to be behind bars, not insulting us daily with mendacious commercials.

Every RICO operation is only as strong as its weakest link. In this case the weakest link was Hunter who saved all his incriminating email correspondence on his MacBook. When he spilled water on it or dropped it in the bathtub he panicked and took it to a repair shop but then assumed it would not be fixable and abandoned it. As repair people know the hard drives are sealed and can often be salvaged even it the motherboard circuits are shorted by contaminants. What always brings down the crime family is the one member that uses a traceable gun, leaves fingerprints, or reveals information over a traced line because they are arrogant and don't take precautions. This is the classic case here with Hunter Biden and the Biden crime family.

If there were ever a time when a tide changed direction in a single political moment, it was at the Trump set-up with Savannah Guthrie. For about 45 minutes Guthrie just jumped all over The Donald (snip) A woman with an innocent question — I believe she was a Trump-leaner — asked her already forgotten question. But her comment changed the entire energy of this one-sided event. She looked at The Donald, now 45 minutes into being hectored at every comment, and said: "Mr. President, you have a beautiful smile." Trump seemed genuinely stunned

Facebook and Twitter sacrificed the final shreds of their integrity to try to censor the N.Y. Post article revealing the existence of Hunter Biden's laptop. But in their rush to throw themselves in the path of the bullet to save Joe, there was a big problem. They forgot that Rudy Giuliani has the evidence. The N.Y. Post article was an exclusive. That means all "fact checkers" that Facebook and Twitter will unleash to fact-check the article will be based on speculation, not fact. Because they don't have the laptop. And, judging from a new video from Giuliani, things may be about to explode

There are a lot of substantive comments to make about the two town halls. Trump held up well even though Savannah Guthrie was attacking him like a maddened chihuahua. Biden also held up well thanks to George Stephanopoulos's gentle handling and an increasing number of very long commercial breaks. (And was Biden fed the questions in advance? He seemed unusually prepared.) But the real star had to be the woman in the red mask sitting behind Trump. She nodded supportively every time he answered and shook her head every time the maddened chihuahua interrupted

The man who was to have moderated a town hall-style debate tonight between President Trump and ex-VP Biden has been suspended from his job as C-SPAN’s political editor after admitting to lying about his Twitter account being hacked. (snip) He likely concluded that his lie was going to be exposed and may have feared legal consequences if an FBI investigation came to that conclusion. It was the Commission on Presidential Debates that made the request to the FBI for an investigation, so it is not clear to me if Scully has any legal liability for filing a false report.

The polls appear to be shifting in favor of Joe Biden. A commonly heard explanation from Trump supporters is many of the polls are oversampling Democrats. This is true in some cases but not all. So, is something else going on here we do not really understand? (snip) According to a recent Cato Institute poll, 77% of conservatives are now afraid to express their political views versus roughly 50% of liberals. This includes 40% of Republicans with a college degree and 60% with a post-graduate degree, who are afraid their political views will harm their careers, versus only 25% of Democrats.

There's a bad joke about a music scholar who visits Beethoven's grave in Vienna. As he nears, he hears the Ninth Symphony being played backward. He turns to the cemetery caretaker and asks, "What's that strange music?" The caretaker answers, "Oh, that's just Beethoven de-composing." That joke pops into my mind every time I see photos of Joe Biden or hear him speak. On the one hand, Biden is holding up better than I would have expected a few months ago. The question is whether the Democrats can block Barrett’s nomination through this ploy.I don’t think they can. A quorum in the full Senate is 51 members. In the Judiciary Committee it’s nine members including two from the minority party.
