Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) used his entire time on the second day of the Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Judge Amy Coney Barrett on Tuesday to present a “dark money” conspiracy theory. He asked Judge Barrett no actual questions.Using a series of posters, a magic marker, a highlighter, and an indeterminate number of Post-it notes, Whitehouse sketched a complicated theory — called “The Scheme” — in which he claimed that “dark money” groups influenced the selection of judges.(Photo) Whitehouse brought in various different groups and individuals, including Leonard Leo of the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group, and Carrie Severino

I think Senator Cruz did a good job in telling the rest of the story.

The Democrats have the problem with "Dark Money." Otherwise known as Soros Cash.

Went to the doctor and they had the Supreme Court hearings on. When I walked in Durbin was talking to Comey. When I left 30 minutes later, Durbin was still talking. Not one question. We have pathetic leaders folks.

After Shel’s mind-numbing and seemingly endless diatribe, he asked no questions of Judge Barrett.
Then Ted Cruz eviscerated Shel and his “dark money” blather by giving facts and numbers and dollar signs and lots of commas and zeros to illustrate that the Democrats have been the “dark money” folks. It was brilliant. An absolute joy to watch. After he had taken care of business, he gave the Judge some pleasant time with friendly questions about her family. A thoughtful gift from Senator Cruz.

Whitehouse is as good as anybody at wasting their time. The man is a wasted life.

Beware of Sheldie Whitehouse.
FTA "Mr. Whitehouse’s silence about his own ties to dark-money networks shows his goal isn’t to clean up politics. He wants to silence those who disagree with him. If Mr. Whitehouse holds power in the Senate majority next year, do not expect what Joe Biden says will be a new era of comity and fair play."
Sheldie, you must be planning to vote to confirm then?
Sen. Cruz, a fine touch of respect, common, and virtue, sir, toward Judge Barrett.

Sheldon Whitehorse looked like a very unhappy man indeed!

The Dems know they have no means to prevent ACB's appointment to SCOTUS. They will use their time to bad mouth Trump, to fearmonger about losing rights, to cast aspersions elsewhere and use projection to camouflage their own malfeasance. It wouldn't surprise me if they talked about climate change, about BLM, about anything but nominating this incredibly talented and able juror to the Supreme Court.

So, after the Democrat debacle on the Judiciary committee today, it's clear they don't have legal questions for the judge, and using their time specifically for TV time to bring up campaign issues.
The networks should be required to give Republicans equal time as a result.
And, Graham, should gavel these "hearings" and let McConnell to call a full Senate vote ASAP.

Listening to Larry O’Connor this afternoon and he played a clip of Whitehouse saying that people were supporting Barrett’s nomination before she was even nominated and that it was scary. I hope that someone pointed out to him that the reason for this is because 4 years ago PDT released a list of possible SCOTUS nominees during his campaign - something that Hiden Biden refuses to do RIGHT NOW!

Isn't this projection?
Isn't this how Soros is using his Dark Money to buy prosecutors, DA's, Secretaries of State, and, yes, judges?

So? The Constitution says the President nominates. It doesn't say a word about how the nominee is selected. Kinda freedom of choice like abortion You know. Its the president's right to privacy and all.

I believe that tomorrow is Marsha Blackburn's turn. She is going to be quite a sight as she tears through the morons on the committee.

I have a theory that, given a few months of intensive remedial training, Sen. Whitehouse could pass an intelligence test with a score of 78.
But, perhaps I may be overestimating his abilities.

I would agree with poster #6 but would take his comment one step further. Whitehouse is living proof that his father came on a hot rock and it hatched!

The better question would be "How many senators in this committee have accepted money from Soros and other big money Democrats ?"
