If money can buy political votes, veteran Senator Lindsey Graham is toast. His re-election opponent, Jaime Harrison, has raised more money in the third quarter of 2020 than any Senate candidate in history, outdistancing even Beto O'Rourke, who ran in Texas, with a population almost six times larger than South Carolina. James Arkin of Politico writes:
South Carolina Democrat Jaime Harrison raised a staggering $57 million in the third quarter of this year, shattering the previous record for a Senate candidate as he seeks to unseat GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham.
The haul only increases Harrison's massive financial advantage over Graham, who is seeking a fourth term in the Senate

O.K. Call me "racist " , Harrison is black so for the very liberal dems this is a twofer. Where , geographically ,did the money come from?

#1 -- Other articles have stated that Harrison has received the majority of his funds from out of state or national PACs. I don't see the demographics in SC shifting enough for Graham to lose. ALL THE POLLS SHOW TRUMP WINNING SC, so I can't imagine, enough of those people splitting their ticket.

Lindsey's opponent is powerful because Lindsey has been ... well, Lindsey for so long. That he has been more gooder ever since he had his head forcibly evicted out of McCains' posterior (God bless John's recently departed mama) is weak broth and unable to sustain him now. So....see ya. Your replacement will be Hell to deal with, but thank you for the parting gift.

Fools parting with their money. Republicans outnumber Rats 2 to 1 in SC. But fine with me if they insist on this quixotic quest. That's money they won't be spending elsewhere.

Sounds like El Beto all over again. Trump won the state by 14 points in 2016. I really doubt a liberal Democrat has any chance of winning a statewide race in SC.

There are people spending billions on the 2020 elections, and it doesn't even burn a hole in their pockets. its more than Soros and Bloomberg. Wouldn't be surprised if some of it comes from foreign interests which is illegal. These people viewed Washington DC as their own personal playground, and then Trump came on the scene. Trump completely opposes their interests, and they can't stand him. These people think they own Washington. They may be correct. Prove them wrong.

My most faithful conservative friends in Hilton Head, SC said they are well aware we must hold the Senate. They said most of their friends will hold their nose and vote one more time for LG. However, its the consensus that Lindsey built this limp support for his campaign all by himself. They blame themselves too because when times were good, Repubs should have been courting candidates to get rid of Lindsey. When you keep these RINOs and your state starts to get wealthy liberals retiring there, well???

I'm in SC. All I see 24/7 is Harrison ads. Every once and a while a Graham ad kicks in. Don't be so sure about SC and Graham. I think Trump is just fine but I suspect there is a lot of resentment against Graham for only standing up for Trump once McCain died. Harrison's ads are effective. They portray him as part of the Swamp.
I'm not happy with Graham but I will be voting for him to support Trump. I have gone so far as to have my son who is out of state for work to request an absentee ballot. When it arrived, I put it in a sealed Priority Mail envelope and enclosed a return Priority mail ballot so it doesn't get lost. I will hand deliver when it is returned. Graham needs every vote he can get, even if I have to hold my nose to do it. (And I will)
If you can afford to donate a few bucks, I strongly urge you to do it! Harrison's ads are brutal down here.

I sure will, #12. We have to focus (despite Miss Lindsey!) and do all we can to help you hold this Senate seat RED. Praying too...

The priceless piece of incumbency is a politician’s record. Lindsey has one of betrayal and fecklessness. All the ads won’t change that. He’s a UNIPARTY swamp creature. No ads will scrub that from his record. And who’s to blame? He’s a shame, even if he’s our shame.

As others note, selecting Harrison in a predominantly Republican state would mean a split ticket, and I can't envision any TRUMP supporter voting against themselves voting for Harrison. They know TRUMP has to have the Senate in order to keep his agenda moving forward.
One wonders how many contributions are over $25K, $50K, $100K or $1M? S.C. doesn't have a $57M contribution base. It's likely ordinary people only represent a small fraction. It's not the ads that count, it's how many actual voters are funding them.
This election is probably the least influenced by campaign ads of any in living memory. The media has been going 24/7 for four years against TRUMP. It's so polarized, ads will no longer make any difference. Gone are the days of last minute voting decisions. If you haven't figured out who you are going to vote for by now, you probably don't vote.
TRUMP supporters are not going to split their tickets. The election is not about Graham, it's about TRUMP. All TRUMP voters want is for Graham to do what he says.

Republicans have failed to re-elect many over the years. We've lost some and gained some. I think what has allowed us to have the limited vibrancy that we have is due to the new blood and faces that arise after hard fought, and sometimes lost battles. Graham deserves to lose. Our (and s.c.'s) fault for having kept him on for so long. Should he lose - get ready to replace his replacement - but thank the process for getting his stale keister out of there. He may have come around of late, but he's been a heavy anchor for long enough that I will not crumple in despair and cry to the Heavens when he is vanquished.

We have already proven that Soros cannot buy an election. It doesn’t matter how much money Lindsey’s opponent raises. It matters whether or not South Carolina wants to be governed by Democrats. I certainly hope not.

Congressman Joe Cunningham barely beat a Republican woman in 2018 in a district that covers Charleston and Hilton Head and including Beaufort and Parris Island. It was an upset (cheating Mark Sanford held the seat and was primaried by the female whose name I can't remember), and he claimed to be moderate just like lying Jaime, but he votes with Nasty Pelosi the majority of the time. Maybe Jaime gets to keep all that money if he loses.

I do not understand why those who rightly criticize the Democrats as the “uniparty” also criticize Republicans for not being a uniparty.

soros, steyer, bloomberg and others. he couldn't accumulate that kind of money with small donation donors, does lindsey graham deserve another 6 years? no, because he is not that kind of ally that the big man needs. he's as bad as mittens except he shoots his mouth off and makes it sound like he's on the team. he's not.

Graham was on a conservative radio show a couple of weeks back talking about this election. He is asking for small donations of any amount. Whatever he is, he is better than a Democrat.

I voted against Graham in the primary but have since sent him a Benjamin and will vote for him on 11/3. I live on the edge of the city of Charleston and see Graham signs everywhere. The only Harrison signs I have seen (2) were when I was driving through a black neighborhood. Charleston is blue but name recognition means a lot in elections and most people here are not happy with our demonrat mayor and his mask mandate.

Graham deserves to lose for all the reasons that other posters stated. I can't wait to replace him with our John James in the senate. I do hope Miss Lindsay wins but I wouldn't send him a nickel. Reminds me of Aunt Bee.

Lots of outside money being spent up here in Alaska to oust Senator Dan Sullivan. His (claims to be a) moderate is getting lots of money from outside. Alaska is a cheap Senate seat to campaign for, compared to other states.

Not the biggest fan of 'Miss Lindsey', whose outer Bold Conservative is inspiring until his inner Spineless RINO asserts itself. But if Carolina Democrats are the alternative, I'd choose Senator Graham in a heartbeat.

At this point, it doesn't matter how anyone feels about Lindsay Graham. It is absolutely imperative that we keep the Senate in GOP hands or President Trump will be impeached and removed by a leftist-led Senate.
