Marquette University is currently exploring ways to implement “black only housing” on its campus following student demands. “Marquette will work toward creating a Black Living Learning Community in a residence hall,” campus administrators said to the student body in a statement last month, adding that learning communities “bring together students with common majors or common interests.” The school’s black student council started a petition, signed by over 1,500 people on Change.org in July, outlining a list of demands, including asking the university to “publicly recognize and apologize for the traumatic events that Black students experience on campus and the part

Maybe they could do “black only” water fountains. They used to be popular awhile back.

So fragile. White-only housing would be shut down as discriminatory under federal law, but you can have bLACK housing, LGBTQP housing, Latinx housing...

Works for me.
Pretty soon they’ll want free passage to visit their “homelands”. Fine. One-way only.

1. It is obvious those demanding "black only housing" neither know the history, nor care .
2. If they want/choose to be segregated, why are BLM and other minority groups demanding "inclusion of diversity" all around? Aren't both mutually exclusive?

So it's back to segregation! Wonders never cease. I thought that was what Civil Rights was all about. We also fought three wars against Communism and now we are allowing Communists run for Congress. Beam me up!!!!

If they do that, will Whites have their own facilities also? And then there are the Asians. They will need theirs as well as Native Americans and Hispanics. To make things more interesting, Women only, men only, bi-sexuals, lesbians, gays and those who aren't sure what they are, will need separate housing also too.

Didn't expect to see Jim Crow make a comeback in my lifetime. Separate but equal is the Democrats mantra during the Jim Crow days. Guess Dems are trying to ring it back.

Re #2 I am old enough to remember those only here in the South they were marked “white “ and “colored “. I remember being in stores when I was young and thinking that the “colored” fountain meant it dispensed colored water.

Didn't LBJ try this already ? For the seriously undereducated Twits, LBJ was Lyndon Baines Johnson (D-TX. For the even less educated Tik Tok ers. He was once president of the USA. His black only housing was referred to as "projects" and Ghettos.

This thinking is dangerous! It's affirmative diminishment of the racial integration successes American has made since before President Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society." Imagine the chaos that would occur If Caucasians at Marquette petitioned for "white only" housing. A lawsuit would be filed before such a petition's ink was dry.

How long will it be before these idiots start tearing down the statues of MLK and renaming all those streets”. This is the antithesis of what he preached and fought for. If they keep going in this direction they’re going to have to eliminate him from the public and from history.

Segregation is back! Wow, college blacks have completely different spin on race than MLK. What’s next, bathrooms, water fountains, lunch counters, schools? All sounds like the very definition of racism, of it’s OK to be racist if you’re not white.

Segregation all over again. What idiot slaves they are. Yet, they think they're smart, and we're the dumb ones. A leftist person in my life actually told me that the Proud Boys are the ones rioting and tearing up liberal cities. Those evil Proud Boys. I told her it was antifa and blm, and she says they're peacefully protesting. It is to laugh; she can't be serious. But, she hung up on me, so. . .

Why those evil Republicans and Conservati... oops. Now you tell me that the leadership at Marquette, Milwaukee and Wisconsin state government is full of liberal Democrats!
I guess we Republicans will have to bail them out on the next desegregation and civil rights bill again. Just like we did after the Civil War and in the 1960s.

Because you know he is just spinning in his grave so fast that he could probably power up most of the east coast right about now.

The u.S. Supreme court has ruled that achieving diveristy is a valid goal of a university, thus making affirmative action constitutional. Sandra Day O'Connor's majority decision in the University of Michigan law school case wrote that affirmative action would be constitutional, but only for 25 years.
That was her final decision as a member of the Court. I found that to be baffling.
blacks at universities have been self-segregating for decades. Go into any school lunch room and see for yourself. Black sororities and black fraternities are common. And one bl;ack fraternity has branding as an initiation ritual. Red hot branding irons are used, usually on the upper arms of the pledges.
And school administrators, who blather on about fraternity hazing, look the other way on black branding.
It would be amusing to see how Chief Judas John Roberts would tie himself into a liberal knot to approve of branding.

A gentle reminder to those quoting George Wallace.
Wallace was a segregationist for years, then at some point he changed his mind. He contacted a number of black civil rights leaders throughout Alabama and apologized for he earlier segregationist actions, and eventually many black organizations supported him as he worked to improve the life of all Alabamians.
There is a lot more to the story of George Wallace than the 'segregation' quote from an early speech he made.

Alabama Governor George Wallace tried that segregation thing in the 60's and it didn't end well. If the black students get their way, who will pay the non blacks reparations?

As a side note here. I heard the other day that Little Mike had donated $100 million to "historically black colleges" Maybe he is paying for it.
