Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said Sunday she will not continue to enforce Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s executive orders “through criminal prosecution” after the state Supreme Court ruled the orders unconstitutional Friday.
“In light of the Supreme Court’s decision on Friday, the Attorney General will no longer enforce the Governor’s Executive Orders through criminal prosecution,” read a statement from Nessel’s press secretary posted to Twitter on Sunday. “However, her decision is not binding on other law enforcement agencies or state departments with independent enforcement authority.”

State by state the lockdowns are falling apart. NYC is a mess with De Blasio enforcing new lockdowns. Pennsylvania's restaurant business is not doing well. It's the democrat states that are falling apart. Their goal is to kill the economy.

Indeed! The Blue States are sabotaging their own economies, and praying for the Socialists to steal the election, allowing Ole Joe and his cronies to bail out the Blue States by taking from the rest of the Country...

These other Michigan enforcement authorities need to consult their attorney. Michigan's Supreme court held that Witmer's Covid-19 orders became invalid after their first 28 days (because Michigan's Legislature declined to extend her orders). Local authorities can enforce ONLY violations of their local ordinances. It's probable VERY FEW local governments enacted any such ordinances. As a matter of law: after the first 28 days there were no Witmer orders to enforce. Except for Witmer's first 28 days enforcement of her orders would be malicious prosecution and be subject to money damages. Every judge should summarily dismiss any such enforcement and entertain a motion for damages. Sovereign immunity does apply to malicious prosecution, except perhaps to a cap such damages. ENOUGH ALREADY! Witmer asserted on TV that Michigan's SC "under minded" her orders. HA HA! LOL!

Gov Witchmer is a legend in her own mind!
The Supreme Court of Michigan smacked down the tyrant’s power grabbing over reach!
I claimed May 1 as my freedom day! I knew the legislature didn’t extend emergency powers after April.. I would love to see legal prosecution for Blue State gov’s that put COVID patients in nursing homes to ‘seed’ the virus.
So, nursing homes can now have visitors? As in families? I hope so- the devastation of family separation is so awful.

We need our California Supreme Court to do the same to Gavin (Brylcreem) Newsom.

I live in Kentucky where our governor Sheriff Andy still has the mask edict in force, but no one seems to be inclined to jail those who flout it. Businesses are re-opening, schools are open - some districts full time, some part in person and part on-line. The only local prohibition where I live was when the mayor closed the city parks. That did not go over well and he soon lifted the closure. But where I live in a county of 133,000 people we have had only 50 deaths. I'm not a bit afraid but I know way too many people who still are.

Good remarks here. Re: Poster 2. For many years we’ve seen the bail outs coming at the expense of solvent red states. Liberals elites hate conservatives. They are jealous and resentful of the wealth and power held by the middle class. Liberals are vengeful tyrants. The biggest theft ever will be justified in the interest of fairness.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I hardly shop because of the mask law, we haven't gone to restaurants either.

I’m with you, 9. I can’t and won’t mask up so shopping and eating out is not happening very often. I’m a people person, so I like to make eye contact and talk to people. This has been tough and depressing, considering on the very rare occasion I have to go into the grocery store, nobody looks at or talks to the selfish people without masks, of whom I’m usually the only one in the store. I’m very afraid the mostly virtue-signaling people are addicted to their masks and won’t ever take them off again.

In states where the mask requirements are the most tyrannical, we will see that even if the tyrant is overruled, many proprietors will be reluctant to drop the mask/plexiglass "protections".
Since the media and the liberals ( but I repeat myself) have convinced so many people they can't risk shopping in their establishment , their bottom line will continue to be at risk. This dilemma/fear could be with us for a while as profit margins are already diminished. It is going to take a long time to recover from this leftist weapon pointed at our economy.

It will be interesting to see how our local businesses react to this. I have seen a lot of signs apologetically explaining that they have been forced into the mask mandate because of Whitmer.

FTA: "Whitmer hinted that the same policies will last past the 21 days, saying “alternative sources of authority” will enforce her rulings."
And WHAT authority is that? Are they now burning your cities down?

#7, your 50 in 133,000 is one in 2,660 people. Here in eastern KS, it is 158 in 600,000+, which is about one in 3,800. The two numbers are not too different. One person in 3,200 plus or minus five hundred seems to be about where things are shaking out after 7 months, even in widely varying places.

The attorney general won't or can't prosecute people, yet she appears to be encouraging local law enforcement to break the law and do it so she doesn't have to. Her decision not to enforce. . . It's bleeping unconstitutional!!
