A woman who, when she was an illegal immigrant, worked at one of President Trump’s golf courses says she paid more to the IRS than President Trump did, given what has now been reported about his finances.
Others point out that if what The New York Times wrote about Mr. Trump’s debt is true, then he may not even be the wealthiest candidate in the presidential race. That might be Democratic nominee Joseph R. Biden.
The newspaper said Mr. Trump, through use of tax breaks and write-offs, paid no income tax most of the past 15 years. In 2016 and 2017,

Even if President Trump's tax returns turned out to be a nothing burger, they still need to know who had access and released these to the Times. I would like to see this person prosecuted.

NYT and the MSM in general seem to have Tourette’s Syndrome regarding everything PDJT. They are obsessed in a cult-like tic of all things Trump.
They can’t compete in the adult world of ideas and persuasion. So they are reduced to middle school gossip, name calling, and cliquish subterfuge.
They’re too stupid and myopic to realize WE. DO. NOT. CARE.
Idiots. All.

I did a couple temp jobs at the IRS. One of the initial training programs was on something they called UNAX, or unauthorized access to tax returns. Let's just say the gist of the training was you shouldn't do it.

3, there must have been a caveat you missed during the training. It says its punishable by law UNLESS you do it because Orange Man Bad. Then it's okay.

The NYT is like Captain Ahab, obsessed with getting the great white whale...Moby Trump. And, like Ahab, they have certainly ended their journalistic life in the depth of insanity of that pursuit. But, Moby Trump still lives.
As for the party who tried to give them yet one more harpoon, there is little doubt in my mind that it likely came from a similarly obsessed party that has also been trying to get him. In this case someone in the offices of the SDNY that has been intensely investigating his financial records based on the corrupt NY Attorney General's efforts to assist the Democrat Party. Look there. You'll find the talking parrot there.

It is a felony crime not only to leak but even to receive the information. We have the perps right in front of our eyes.

People with money hire tax people who (somehow) understand the tax code and reduce their clients taxes as much as is legal. The tax payer usually has no clue as to how it all is done. This is all known by the general public--not news. No one should pay more taxes than they are legally obligated to pay.

Rest easy. AG Barr will handle this. The leaking of the President's tax returns will have Mr. Barr assigning it to one of his bull sheep dogs. This newly assigned dynamo will have a report to us by summer. Oh, yeah, he is on vacation- er - self quarantine. s/o

The NYT won't release the documents so we don't know if they have any. This could be just as phony as the Russia golden showers dossier. I submit that if Trump's accountants did anything illegal 0's IRS would have nailed him years ago.

These anti-Trump 'bombshells' the Dems and their co-conspirators constantly float are getting monotonous. The real bombshells - the humongous ones proven to be true through many sources - are fiercely tamped down by the MSM. As close buddies and allies, they are extremely skilled at perpetrating misinformation and downright lies to further their cause which is despicable and disgusting. The rest of us are still out here - fervently, but quietly - awaiting justice.

Is this any different than the news, a few years ago, that Warren Buffett paid less taxes than his secretary. Someone might want to check Bloomberg, Gates, Pelosi, Biden and Zuckerberg, for starters.

Any claim that Trump paid no income tax, or only $750, is ignorant and false.
Trump consistently filed Extensions to his tax returns because they were so complex. Those Extensions had to be accompanied by a good faith payment of his estimated taxes, and Trump's submittals of his Estimated Taxes were in the millions of dollars.
When the extended return was submitted as the Final Return, payment would be made of the difference between the Final Taxes Due and the Estimated Taxes already paid with the Extension Request. And typically, the difference was small--$750--if you have good tax attorneys, as Trump had.

If some person in the IRS released this information, that is criminal, and that person needs to get prison time.

The $750 lie was EXACTLY why they wanted access to Trump's taxes, so they could twist the detailed information and smear Trump. "He's not a successful businessman." "He pays no taxes." etc. For the the people who have no experience in business, they are clueless. For example, when Trump invests in a property, the property generally increases in value, HOWEVER, that increase is NOT taxed until the property is sold. The tax rate is also less than for regular income. This is also true for stock investments. They are treated as capital gains and wealthy people seek out this type of investments for EXACTLY these reasons. If you try to estimate a business' success by their tax returns, you are chasing a wild goose. As other pointed out, the $750 tax year is a blatant lie.
The real issue is that someone in government released private tax returns. That's big time illegal and someone needs to be held big time accountable.

Nadler asked for the returns and he got them and leaked them - when he found out he couldn't use them to help his impeachment efforts.

#7 Exactly. People act as if a multi billionaire is going to sit down and do their taxes in an hour or two using Turbo Tax. Hate to break it to those who think this, but they've got an army of CPAs working full time on nothing but their taxes.

I don't recall the media demanding Buffett's taxes after he stated that his secretary pays more than he does. Remember that?

A few years ago, I did a couple of spring temp jobs at a local IRS facility. Nothing fancy, just opening the mail and processing paperwork.
But at the start, I had to go through several bits of required training. One was on something called "UNAX," or unauthorized access to tax information. Let's say it was made very clear that you were not to go snooping for returns on ex-spouses, celebrities, or others. Also, any information you saw on returns you handled in work were not to be shared except with those who "needed to know." The penalities, besides losing your job, included fines and possible jail time.
I hope that the source was not the IRS, but my time there also was before the stuff Lois Lerner and her pals pulled, so maybe the rules have changed. My bet is that someone in Pres Trump's CPA office was the source.

The "dog that didn't bark" in this case was the network of PDJT's Russian business investments that the Enemedia was hoping to uncover. They were salivating at the thought of resurrecting Russiagate and replaying the whole first 3 years of the Trump Administration. They were bitterly disappointed when they found no Russian involvement at all. Of course they all ran corrections admitting their errors about Trump vis a vis Russia (s/o).

The NYTs is a fence for stolen property. The NYTs should have been required to return the stolen property to its owner, rather than publishing it, and placing it in their files.

You get the feeling that ignorant people think the President sits down and in a couple of hours does his own taxes.
BTW Who is an illegal to complain ?
