Is there anything more obnoxious than a health scold?
About 40% of Democrats are "happy" that President Trump has caught COVID, according to a MorningConsult poll. Some have popped out of the woodwork and expressed just that, making their "I hope he dies" tweets the words they'll be remembered for.
But some are a little smarter than that bunch, recognizing how repellent such a response is to normal people.
Instead of death-wishing, they're concern-trolling. They're the Karens,

No mask is going to prevent you from getting the virus. With that criteria, wearing clothes will prevent you from getting sick your whole life. Rubbish. Now the enemedia is an expert on all this CCP virus. They are nauseating.

Masks work? On what basis?
Small viruses, big pores, and stuff blowing out the top and sides.
Sorry. Not.

The only way to validate whether masks are beneficial is to evaluate them objectively in a controlled, scientific manner. You need two statistically identical cohorts of individuals and expose them to exactly the same conditions - one group wearing masks and a second not wearing masks. The results could then be evaluated and a statement made about the possible efficacy of masks. Of course, the masks worn by the masked group should be comprised of the grab bag of masks worn by the public, which is a factor that would expand the test cohort size beyond reasonable numbers.
Unfortunately, this kind of experiment is actually very difficult, in fact probably impossible to execute - insuring that experimental conditions are exact. But it is the only way to scientifically test whether masks are effective. Otherwise, the tests that show particle penetration through mask materials are the means of 'best guessing' effectiveness. And, given that a large portion of air is inhaled and exhaled through gaps around the masks, depending on what the mask material is and how it is fitted, the degree of effectiveness is even more tenuous.
All that is to say that, as we have observed, the assertion that we should wear masks is not based on scientific observation. Rather, it is based on the degree of authority we assign to the supporters or detractors. For people to claim that Trump, or anyone else, got the virus because they did not wear a mask is to usurp authority that is not based on valid scientific observation.

Just tested Lowe's. Nobody cared. Half the employees were maskless. Maybe this BS dies a slow death. Lots of sheep, though.

Masks are not the cure. I really do wonder if this wasn't picked up by the fecal-oral route. One cook, assistant cook, server or other food service person at some event, on AF1 or in the WH who might have this virus and didn't wash hands properly, and boom....contaminated food and people with the virus.
I'd be examining exactly what the President and FL both ate at the events in the previous few days. Who provides the food to AF1? Is it possible that someone in the caterer's chain of handling had the Wuhan flu?
IMO, more likely in this situation than airborne or direct contact with an infected person.

#6, just curious, what state? I went maskless for months while it was "recommended" and even for a while after it became "mandatory". All employees in eastern KS are required by their bosses to wear them, but I haven't actually been harassed for not wearing one. I did wear one out in Colorado - "mandatory" mostly because I didn't want to get crosswise with some local police in a state other than my own.

With so many sudden positives at the WH, I believe it was an intentional attack. You don't have to have the virus to bring a vial in and spread it around. And enemies could have intentionally infected those known to be employed at the WH, knowing they would spread the virus to the WH. This attack happens suddenly in October. Nice timing. Trump, which is we, have a lot of enemies that want us gone. They say so, act like it, and are actively pursuing that end.

The testing and social distancing protocols that the WH has used to prevent infection of the President are far more restrictive than any use of masks in public places would have achieved. The WH press corps has all worn masks for appearances at all briefings and yet three of them got infected. If masks actually worked they would have been protected.
The President has an important job to do and is an essential worker. In order to succeed he needs to campaign and go about his duties just like the NBA or NFL or MLB people need to do their jobs. The use of masks is just superstition for most outside situations

A class action lawsuit against any of these mask makers claiming protection against the china virus would quell this nonsense in a New York minute.

We all know Biden wears a mask 24/7. If he happens to come down with Covid, what will the Karens and scolds going to say? More and more politicans seem to be testing positive, but it’s probably they are around more people than the average person. I’m with the poster who says we don’t know how people get it. I’m just thankful most people don’t die, and the President is already on the road to recovery.

Masks are a mark of submission, with the exception of certain medical conditions and facility mandates.
Democrats are used to submitting. You can see it in everything they do. Some people just don't have the courage to resist when it's for their own good!

So are these doctors saying that no one who has worn a mask in public has contracted the virus? That everyone who has tested positive, been hospitalized or died was mask-free when outside of their home?
