‘Political propaganda’ or ‘essential public health messages’?
Government-sponsored food boxes include a letter from
Trump, and some Chicago food pantries are removing it.

Food pantries for months have relied on a government-sponsored food box program to serve a spike in needy families during the pandemic. But the latest batch of boxes includes an item some find unpalatable as the election nears: a letter signed by President Donald Trump. The letter, printed in both English and Spanish on White House letterhead, highlights the Farmers to Families Food Box program and includes general safety information for preventing COVID-19 transmission. It does not mention the Nov. 3 election, but some local food pantries say it’s inappropriate and plan to remove the letter before distributing the boxes to families.

1. They can refuse to accept the food boxes. 2. The government has no requirement to send them in the first place. 3. If not for Trump they probably would not have been sent. 4. Remember in 2009 when all these big signs started showing up on freeways where there was construction going on saying things like your stimulus dollars at work. How much did those signs cost? To top it off the projects they were touting were planned, bid on, budgeted and let at least a year or two before zero was even elected. What does it cost to print a letter?

Balderdash! If the sainted Kenyan had been thoughtful enough to think of such a message, you can bet Chicago food bandits would still have taken them out of the food boxes, but only to sell them on e-bay.

New York Times Puts Non-White Lives In Danger 7 replies

The New York Times is being criticized for publishing a lengthy op-ed defending the Chinese government's authoritarian crackdown in Hong Kong. Under the headline, "Hong Kong Is China, Like It or Not," the Times granted valuable journalistic space to Chinese politician Regina Ip to denounce pro-democracy protesters for "stirring up chaos and disaffection toward our motherland," and defending government-led efforts to postpone elections. A Washington Free Beacon analysis of the newspaper's decision to publish the controversial opinion piece determined that the New York Times was putting the lives of people of color at risk by effectively endorsing an authoritarian regime that considers pro-democracy advocacy to be a form of domestic terrorism.

I had not intended to write anything further about Tuesday night’s presidential debate, but the fact that the Left has falsely accused President Trump of refusing to disavow white supremacists, along with a review of the relevant portion of the debate transcript, have changed my mind. But first: America’s cities have been burning over the last four months. Seattle, Portland, New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, Kenosha, Louisville–all have suffered tremendous and possibly irreversible damage. This destruction has come at the hands of the Left, in the persons of Antifa and Black Lives Matter. There has been no rioting, no arson, no looting, by any conservative groups.

Try as they might, Democrats, the media and the blue-check Twitterati can’t wish away President Trump’s enormously successful stewardship of the US economy. “You talk about the economy booming,” moderator Chris Wallace told Trump at this week’s presidential debate. But “in Obama’s final three years as president, more jobs were created, a million and a half more jobs, than in the first three years of your presidency.” Wallace was echoing one of the Biden campaign’s favorite talking points. But here’s the thing: That talking point depends on misleading and cherry-picked data.

Amy Coney Barrett is President Donald Trump’s latest nominee for the Supreme Court, and the scramble is already underway to read the inner workings of her mind on everything from abortion to where she sits on the spectrum from originalism to the “living Constitution.” Thanks to Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court, however, the question that should be on the top of every senator’s list is not merely how Barrett construes the Constitution, but how she reads the plain text of statutes, period. Barrett herself agrees, writing in a law review article this year that a textualist — which is how she identifies herself — “hews closely to the rules

Since The American Mind began nearly two years ago, we have consistently warned of the regime-level crisis caused by the corruption of the content of American education. The recent riots and the ongoing cultural revolution fomented by identity politics has helped prove our point. It is now clearer to Americans that if we do not change course, decades of anti-American propaganda and identitarian teaching in our schools will result in a fundamental overthrow of our system of government. Just two weeks ago the Trump administration hosted—to our great shock—the very first White House Conference on American History.

With 24 hours having passed since the first presidential debate, it’s becoming clear that Trump won in a big way.
