A hot mess of a debate,
and a bad plan by Trump

Original Article

A  hot mess does not make for a great debate. Or an interesting one or even an entertaining one. America was mistreated Tuesday. A highly anticipated showdown in a closely fought presidential election in a deeply divided country had the potential to be a clarifying moment. Instead, it was a sweaty, formless flop. Worse, it was annoying. Neither the candidates or moderator Chris Wallace acquitted themselves well. Joe Biden was sharp and coherent enough, though he relied heavily on notes in front of him.

Next time just let Jojo talk. He is more than capable of making a fool out of himself without any pressure from you, President Trump.

Trump exposed Biden to the Leftist/Fascists that he will throw them under the bus for votes... Trump exposed Biden to the Centrists that he will throw them under the bus for votes... Trump exposed Biden for for the liar that he is, on several levels... Tell me again about that "bad plan".

I am insulted by ALL of this. I felt like I was at some WWE wrestling smackdown match, rather than watching 2 candidates seriously debating and explaining their plans for our ailing, but wonderful country. Trump couldn't stop interrupting Biden and he came off as belligerent, ego-centric, and disrespectful. His supporters who were hoping to hear a coherent plan for a 2nd term got a thin-skinned, bluff and bluster performance instead. He was NOT Presidential, by any stretch of the word. His performance makes me wonder what he's like to deal with in the WH or in a foreign venue. To me, he was a complete embarrassment last night. As far as Wallace, I give him credit. He surprisingly asked the same questions to BOTH candidates, which eliminated the "fair factor." But when Trump started interrupting and grandstanding, Wallace had no option but to remind him that he must follow the rules his own team had set up. Trump should've taken the last 2 minutes to say that Americans deserve better than what they got last night and to promise more substance and less WWE brawling during the next debate. It's hard to believe that our country has sunk to such a low point that we put on this kind of disgusting display for the whole world to see.

Are debaters allowed to “rely heavily on notes” in front of them? It was obvious that, except when he was issuing the nasty jabs he’s practiced all of his life, he was consulting notes on his lectern. Wallace’s questions were predictable. All Biden had to do was study his notes and come up with Answer #2 …or #3...

Was President Trump trying to rattle Joe into saying something dumb? Instead, he made him angry and sent Wallace into action. Biden makes his gaffes all by himself. Wanders off down the twisting lanes of his thoughts and gets lost. He should be allowed to do that.

I wonder if the reason Trump acted the way he did was that this was how Biden behaved when he debated Paul Ryan 8 years ago. Maybe he expected to have to out-interrupt him.

Government-sponsored food boxes include a letter from

Food pantries for months have relied on a government-sponsored food box program to serve a spike in needy families during the pandemic. But the latest batch of boxes includes an item some find unpalatable as the election nears: a letter signed by President Donald Trump. The letter, printed in both English and Spanish on White House letterhead, highlights the Farmers to Families Food Box program and includes general safety information for preventing COVID-19 transmission. It does not mention the Nov. 3 election, but some local food pantries say it’s inappropriate and plan to remove the letter before distributing the boxes to families.

Amy Coney Barrett is President Donald Trump’s latest nominee for the Supreme Court, and the scramble is already underway to read the inner workings of her mind on everything from abortion to where she sits on the spectrum from originalism to the “living Constitution.” Thanks to Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court, however, the question that should be on the top of every senator’s list is not merely how Barrett construes the Constitution, but how she reads the plain text of statutes, period. Barrett herself agrees, writing in a law review article this year that a textualist — which is how she identifies herself — “hews closely to the rules

Since The American Mind began nearly two years ago, we have consistently warned of the regime-level crisis caused by the corruption of the content of American education. The recent riots and the ongoing cultural revolution fomented by identity politics has helped prove our point. It is now clearer to Americans that if we do not change course, decades of anti-American propaganda and identitarian teaching in our schools will result in a fundamental overthrow of our system of government. Just two weeks ago the Trump administration hosted—to our great shock—the very first White House Conference on American History.

"Look at those eyes, where did you get those eyes?" Donohue wrote. "Anyone else as good looking as you in that family ... those eyes are mesmerizing, people must just do whatever you say."

We are currently witnessing just how important having control of the United States Senate is, especially as the Democratic Party is in the midst of its lemming rush off of the socialist edge. Control of the Senate is up for grabs this year and one of the most pivotal races for it is happening here in my home state of Arizona. Republican Sen. Martha McSally is being challenged by Mark Kelly, a Democrat who is benefiting mostly from money pouring in from outside of Arizona. Kelly is a former astronaut and, of course, the husband of former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, who was a victim of a tragic mass shooting

Chris Wallace was always going to be a terrible choice as a moderator for any of the three presidential debates, let alone the first one, but good God, did he fulfill that destiny with flying colors. We knew it back in July when Wallace attempted to fact-check President Trump on the accurate claim that former Vice President Joe Biden was on the record committing to defunding police departments. Biden is, in fact, on record committing to that, and yet, Wallace pretended we hadn't heard it with our own ears. The Fox News anchor was supposed to show up and moderate a debate, with it having expressly been stated

When Michael Flynn heads to court for his final sentencing hearing today, a lifetime of respected national service will hang in the balance on what is said and done. I am not talking about Flynn but of Judge Emmet Sullivan. There is no issue over the dismissal of the charge of Flynn lying to federal investigators. The only issue is whether, just before an election, Sullivan will use the hearing as a forum for injudicious commentary. I have practiced law for years before Sullivan and praised him for his demeanor and record as a judge. He has served with distinction since 1994 in cases ranging from Guantanamo Bay

Boeing Co. will set plans this week to consolidate 787 Dreamliner assembly in South Carolina, people familiar with the matter said, ending production of that jetliner in Washington state as the coronavirus pandemic saps demand for aircraft. The decision carries significant implications for the Seattle-area economy and Boeing’s unionized workforce around Puget Sound. It wasn’t clear over what period of time the consolidation would play out, or how many employees might be affected by the move. Boeing could announce the plans as soon as this week, some of the people familiar with the matter said.

A tidal wave from the mainstream media is speculating whether the two remaining debates between President Trump and Joe Biden should even be held after their brutal first showdown Tuesday night in Cleveland. There appears to be a wide consensus about the messy and ugly nature of the first debate -- which was filled with interruptions and insults. Two more debated are scheduled for Oct. 15 and Oct. 22, with a vice presidential debate set for Oct. 7. During MSNBC's post-debate coverage, "ReidOut" host Joy Reid questioned her colleague Nicolle Wallace, who has worked on presidential campaigns in the past, if Biden should bother showing up to the next debate.

SPOILER ALERT: It’s not Spartacus. The true victor will surely be the Notorious ACB — Amy Coney Barrett, in the black robe, wearing colonial garb.

With 24 hours having passed since the first presidential debate, it’s becoming clear that Trump won in a big way. It wasn’t an apparent victory, but it was a real one: He showed his base and ordinary Americans that he will always fight while forcing Biden to disavow both his hard-left base and the last of the old-fashioned Democrats who still support him Don’t pay too much attention to the pessimistic pundits. The worriers worried, the haters hated, the ambivalent were ambivalent, the cheerleaders cheered. Personality may not be destiny, but it determines post-debates reviews.

The extraordinary remarks from the two top diplomatic officials at the Vatican came after Pompeo accused the Church in an article and a series of tweets this month of putting its “moral authority” at risk by renewing an agreement with China over the appointment of bishops.
