President Donald Trump and Fox News debate moderator Chris Wallace sparred within the first ten minutes of the first presidential debate, prompting Trump to retort: “I guess I’m debating you, not him, but that’s OK, I’m not surprised.”Trump’s remark came after Wallace attacked Trump, picking up on his contender Joe Biden (D)’s accusation that the president was trying to eliminate Obamacare without having a replacement. (Tweets) Even before their exchange, Wallace repeatedly interrupted Trump to let Biden speak, with pleas of “Mr. President let him finish,” and “Please let him speak.” (Tweet) The interaction between Trump and Wallace was expected to be contentious, given Wallace’s history of criticizing the president.

Wallace was pathetic. Not sure why Biden showed up, Wallace was the real opponent.

Wallace mede no attempt to be fair and balanced. His bias was shocking but not surprising.

Wallace should go to CNN, they’d love him there. His pushing the Charlottesville Hoax was the last straw.

I knew form the minute Wallace was announced that he would be lying in wait for the President. I don;t know why Republicans ever agree to debate with a "moderator" . they should insist on no moderator, a strict timekeeper, and pre-announced questions.

Donald is the only man who should win, but he didn't give the fence-sitters any reason to see him as a leader they should want to follow. Trump should have given shorter, more concise answers to Wallace's questions, then hold his peace and let the voters watch Biden dissolve into confusion. Too often, the President interrupted Biden just as he was starting to fumble, so we didn't get to see him drop the ball--as he would have.
I was wishing there had been a switch to turn off the microphone while the other was talking. Crosstalk drives me bananas. Someone said on another thread that Chris Wallace was too in love with his questions. Spot on! Wallace's questions were too long, with double questions as part of the question, which was confusing.
I think many viewers were left thinking that they didn't like either candidate. Biden is feeble and Trump was uninspiring. It's tough to look inspiring when you're interrupting the moderator--even when the moderator was calling out Biden for a misstatement.

Wallace ought to be paid a commission by the Democrats for framing almost every question is a Democrat-slanted way. I just about punched the TV when he characterized the absurdly racist Critical Race Theory training at our federal agencies as "racial sensitivity training."

Greg Gutfeld would make a better fair and balanced moderated. Wallace was out to support basement Biden. And it showed

Im sorry but anyone who has checked out on keeping up with things on either side and then bases their decision on one apparently biased and setup “debate” is just flat out stupid and deserves whatever world of woe they find themselves in come No ember. Biden people have already decided to stand up with the devil and those who have been watching Trump this whole time dont need a debate to convince themselves he is the only. hoice we have if we ever hope to keep America.
Trump for President!

While it was difficult to watch I think Trump came in showing his 4 four of frustration since taking this job. He's been spied on, accused of treason, and constantly lied about by the press and the democrats. Can't say I blame him for wearing it on his sleeve.

Wallace was committed to preserve the illusion of an even match.
I was more disgusted by the panels analysis after -- Biden did what he needed to do. That would only be true if Biden were trying to demonstrate how to look like an animated cadaver.

Wallace proved himself tonight to be a biased tool of the Democrat Party and the Biden campaign. Wallaces continued interruptions of the President while allowing Demented Joe time to finish his statements as well not pressing Biden to answer the question about stacking the SCOTUS was very telling. Wallace was supposed to be what some people call a "respected journalist". If that was even true, he lost that title along with any journalistic integrity he had left. Tune out FOX, tune in OAN,

Wallace is a leftist, and despises the President, so this isn't surprising, but still wrong.

After reading all of these comments, if true, then Chris Wallace needs to be fired. I'm in support of that but it will never happen.
We did record the debate, I will watch it today.

It is not a debate if the contenders don’t argue about an issue. Wallace’s format was Q and A
