Johnny Rotten aka John Lydon has been open about his support for Trump and Brexit for some time now—but fans of the Sex Pistols and the former punk legend are still disappointed.
Lydon, 64, has long been associated with anarchist views and he's managed to get people talking again.
A tweet showing the "God Save the Queen" singer wearing a pro-Donald Trump 'Make America Great Again' T-shirt has gone viral on Twitter this week, with one former fan decrying his idol's political views.

I knew there was a conservative underneath John Lydon's Rotten skin when he wrote in his book "Anger Is An Energy"'
"I understand America very well, I think, and I do appreciate the fact that, yes, you should have the right to own a gun. Yes! To my mind, this lot could be a far more serious pack of killers, in proportion to the firearm potential they're wielding. In many ways I think Americans show an enormous amount of restraint, and of course, there definitely isn't anyone invading this country; they're too well armed for that. And what fun it is to go out into the hills, as I found out years later, to shoot things. It's not about wanting to kill people or animals, it's about the element of control. It gives you a great sense of achievement to be able to hit a melon at 50 yards, that you've got the power and the control to take aim correctly. It's skillful and I like it.
People might be a little scared to hear about Mr. Rotten tooled up, but John ain't no killer. And as I keep telling the world, I'm a pacifist until you stretch over the line and try to hurt or damage any of those I love. Then you've got a prob. Me, you can slag off all day long. Not a prob."

Let's face facts. Trump supporters are thoroughly counter-culture, anti-establishment. I live in coastal California and I am Johnny Rotten!

Imagine, once upon a time, you could simply just have a different idea, or opinion, but now that does not seem to be the case for liberal/progressive democrats any longer.
They demand you must agree with their particular idea or opinion, or else.
How inclusive and open-minded of them, huh?

If the issue gets one citizen to vote for the President, it is positive.

"The King is gone but he's not forgotten. this is the story of Johnny Rotten." (Neil Young, 1978)
Pretty good song. I can't remember whether capmarine liked or hated it. His opinions were strong, and I loved him as an example of what I should be. What we all should be.

Not all of em! John is a citizen of the US. I remember the sex pistols when they went to Texas. It was on NBC news with John Chancellor. I was a young teenager. My father got a look at them and yelled to my mother "Polly get in here ta gotta see this, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!"
I was smitten and got a blue Mohawk asap. Ya gotta love it. John is a conservative and I am and always have been the only conservative in my family.
Never judge a book by its cover.

I remember when the Sex Pistols first came on the scene. Makes me feel pretty old, to tell the truth! And seeing how someone as extreme as John Lydon can STILL summon enough common sense to see who is backing policies that are in everyone's best interests tells me that age and life experience are vital to choosing the proper course of action. Their song "God Save The Queen" is about not putting up with authoritarianism, against the ruling class. Sound familiar?? Plenty of similarities with the radical Left/Democrats. Don't vote Democrat because...there's no future, no future, no future for you (or me).

How is it that some people manage to grow up, and other people never do.

Been a Johnny Rotten fan since Malcolm exploded the Pistols onto the scene and helped offset the musical plague known as disco. Just bought the "Sid Lives" cd a few weeks ago. Great liner notes, including a lengthy Steve Dior account of life (and death) with Sid.
Pathetically composed article but - it's newsweek. Watch the embedded video where, at the 4-minute mark, he starts opining about Trump: "He's the Sex Pistol of politics."

Reminded me of a side note, Lydon's wife of 41 years has dementia, first diagnosed in 2018, and he's stuck by her side as her primary caregiver.

Of course the pampered babies are upset. They have NO idea of what critical thinking is or standing up to the crowd/status quo/Deep State, none. Pathetic bullies who want to hash out, but ONLY if they are in a mob or being given a free pass by a rat politician. They think they are some sort of half wit rebels. They are the most conformist, lock step, true Fascists since Hitler's useful tools the Brownshirts. A pack of mental defectives, criminals and bitter losers. Lydon has been spotting the rotten establishment decades before today's dressed in black morons were born. They are the only ones who don't understand what hypocrites they are.

Reply 5, could anything good come from that has been referred to by a few as the avatars of sociopathy, a band that blew themselves up, that injected the scene with some strangely unique power shot? There is no doubt about the Marine CAP. That one was very capable of threshing the chaff from the grain unlike his fans evidently.
