Johnny Rotten aka John Lydon has been open about his support for Trump and Brexit for some time now—but fans of the Sex Pistols and the former punk legend are still disappointed. Lydon, 64, has long been associated with anarchist views and he's managed to get people talking again. A tweet showing the "God Save the Queen" singer wearing a pro-Donald Trump 'Make America Great Again' T-shirt has gone viral on Twitter this week, with one former fan decrying his idol's political views.

I knew there was a conservative underneath John Lydon's Rotten skin when he wrote in his book "Anger Is An Energy"' "I understand America very well, I think, and I do appreciate the fact that, yes, you should have the right to own a gun. Yes! To my mind, this lot could be a far more serious pack of killers, in proportion to the firearm potential they're wielding. In many ways I think Americans show an enormous amount of restraint, and of course, there definitely isn't anyone invading this country; they're too well armed for that. And what fun it is to go out into the hills, as I found out years later, to shoot things. It's not about wanting to kill people or animals, it's about the element of control. It gives you a great sense of achievement to be able to hit a melon at 50 yards, that you've got the power and the control to take aim correctly. It's skillful and I like it. People might be a little scared to hear about Mr. Rotten tooled up, but John ain't no killer. And as I keep telling the world, I'm a pacifist until you stretch over the line and try to hurt or damage any of those I love. Then you've got a prob. Me, you can slag off all day long. Not a prob."

Imagine, once upon a time, you could simply just have a different idea, or opinion, but now that does not seem to be the case for liberal/progressive democrats any longer. They demand you must agree with their particular idea or opinion, or else. How inclusive and open-minded of them, huh?

Not all of em! John is a citizen of the US. I remember the sex pistols when they went to Texas. It was on NBC news with John Chancellor. I was a young teenager. My father got a look at them and yelled to my mother "Polly get in here ta gotta see this, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" I was smitten and got a blue Mohawk asap. Ya gotta love it. John is a conservative and I am and always have been the only conservative in my family. Never judge a book by its cover.

I remember when the Sex Pistols first came on the scene. Makes me feel pretty old, to tell the truth! And seeing how someone as extreme as John Lydon can STILL summon enough common sense to see who is backing policies that are in everyone's best interests tells me that age and life experience are vital to choosing the proper course of action. Their song "God Save The Queen" is about not putting up with authoritarianism, against the ruling class. Sound familiar?? Plenty of similarities with the radical Left/Democrats. Don't vote Democrat because...there's no future, no future, no future for you (or me).

Been a Johnny Rotten fan since Malcolm exploded the Pistols onto the scene and helped offset the musical plague known as disco. Just bought the "Sid Lives" cd a few weeks ago. Great liner notes, including a lengthy Steve Dior account of life (and death) with Sid. Pathetically composed article but - it's newsweek. Watch the embedded video where, at the 4-minute mark, he starts opining about Trump: "He's the Sex Pistol of politics."

Of course the pampered babies are upset. They have NO idea of what critical thinking is or standing up to the crowd/status quo/Deep State, none. Pathetic bullies who want to hash out, but ONLY if they are in a mob or being given a free pass by a rat politician. They think they are some sort of half wit rebels. They are the most conformist, lock step, true Fascists since Hitler's useful tools the Brownshirts. A pack of mental defectives, criminals and bitter losers. Lydon has been spotting the rotten establishment decades before today's dressed in black morons were born. They are the only ones who don't understand what hypocrites they are.

Like many other liberals, I’m devastated by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death, which opened the way for President Donald Trump to nominate a third Supreme Court justice in his first term. And I’m revolted by the hypocrisy of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s willingness to confirm Trump’s nominee after refusing to even allow a vote on Judge Merrick Garland. Yet these political judgments need to be distinguished from a separate question: what to think about Judge Amy Coney Barrett, whom Trump has told associates he plans to nominate. And here I want to be extremely clear. Regardless of what you or I may think of the circumstances

On Saturday, President Donald Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett, a law professor at Notre Dame and a judge at the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, to the Supreme Court seat vacated by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She graduated the first in her class and edited the school’s law review. Barrett clerked for the late Supreme Court

The issue surfaced earlier in the day when the DOJ announced that it had recovered a small number of discarded ballots. While the Justice Department would not say where they had found the ballots, they did say there were nine recovered -- seven of which were cast for President Trump, while the other two were sealed by Luzerne County before the FBI recovered them, In his letter to Luzerne County officials, U.S. attorney David Freed indicated that additional ballot materials were found in a dumpster.

That report focused on efforts by FBI agents to obtain FISA warrants to surveil Trump-campaign adviser Carter Page, and concluded that two applications to renew such warrants were not valid because of “material misstatements and omission” of evidence. The smarter Democrats realize that not only do Republicans have the votes to confirm a replacement for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, but that hearings on the confirmation threaten to be a disaster for them. Expressing the bloodlust they felt at the prospect of Brett Kavanaugh being confirmed may have provided momentary emotional satisfaction, but 2018 Republican gains in the Senate were painful and lasting. But the abortion-supporters whom the party depends on for energy and funding want the hearings to savage whomever the president nominates. Therein lies grave peril for the party

As the Senate prepares for yet another brutal Supreme Court nomination fight, one particularly sensitive issue is creating apprehension among Democrats: what to do with 87-year-old Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee. Feinstein, the oldest member of the Senate, is widely respected by senators in both parties, but she has noticeably slowed in recent years. Interviews with more than a dozen Democratic senators and aides show widespread concern over whether the California Democrat is capable of leading the aggressive effort Democrats need against whoever President Donald Trump picks to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Chris Wallace, the moderator of the first presidential debate Tuesday night, insists he will try to remain “as invisible as possible.” That would certainly be a welcome change from his performance in the final 2016 debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. A lot of Democrats no doubt assume Wallace will go too easy on the president simply because he hosts a talking-heads show for the “conservative” Fox News network. But Wallace is not an admirer of Trump. Nor is he above gotcha questions and phony “fact checks.” It was Wallace, you will probably recall, who pompously lectured Trump as follows during that last 2016 debate:

The New York Times’s big Trump tax files splash on Sunday is therefore something of a flop.
