Would you like to know exactly how long we have left to save the earth? If you’re in New York City and happen to be in Union Square, all you have to do is look up at the gigantic “Climate Clock” that’s been installed to commemorate Climate Week.
BREAKING: NYC just turned the giant Union Square clock into a #ClimateClock to hold governments and corporations accountable. We have 7 years and 102 days to dramatically reduce carbon emissions. Let’s do this! https://t.co/m2JSk0wpkB #ActInTime #GreenNewDeal #ClimateWeekNYC pic.twitter.com/qjUNR4h4Op

My understanding from 20 years ago was that we had ten years from then to save the planet. (Scratches head.)

That reminds me. I have to call the chimney guy to get my old wood burning stove in the basement working.

Nooo . . . we're good! Gavin Newsom just declared that California would outlaw sales of gasoline powered cars by 2035 or something like that. So, by his edict, the world will still be here. The New Green Deal was wrong, as usual.

Way back in 1988, noted oceanographer Ted Danson said we only had 10 years to save the oceans. Shouldn't we already be extinct?

There's a video on YouTube called Planet of the Humans that uncovers the hypocrisy of the green movement. Yes, it's produced by Michael Moore, has a melodramatic ending, and blames overpopulation and capitalism a couple of times, but is actually pretty revealing.

This just emphasizes the risibility of "climate change". The Alarmists have had no luck scaring people about doom coming in 100 years. Heck, I won't be around then. Should I care? It's just not imminent enough. But even the original doomsday scenarios they whipped up didn't predict significant impact in the short term. Since then, the predictions have been repeatedly dialed back. It makes you wonder, if if keeps changing, how accurate are the predictions?
To get around this, the ALarmists start throwing out short term dates with no significant underpinning. Thudbird says 12 years. The "clock" says 7 years. Does anyone bid 2 years?
And when all these dates slip by and not much happens they will simply scream about new arbitrary dates that are just as made up. The Alarmists are pathetic.

Where have we heard that before?

A total elimination of CO2 from all power sources in the U.S. would moderate world temperature by less than 0.2 degrees Celsius, and even that impact would not occur before the year 2100.
(That's 80 years from now, and essentially what the Paris Accords used for their target)
And, carbon dioxide is mixed in the atmosphere, thus, reducing(or increasing) CO2 emissions brings no local effects. Thus, the global impact of California's carbon-neutral power mandate is negligible.

New York City is trying very hard to destroy their tourist trade. If they are talking about their city alone, they could be correct about the seven years estimate given that their rioting class has destroyed any interest in going there.
I'm thinking that the climate over Bora Bora will be exactly the same for the next hundred years. The sailboat is almost completed.

Didn't the climate prophetess Greta give us 10 years just over 2 years ago? Is this enshrining her bogus time prediction into a new clock gimmick? Is this supposed to supplant the nuclear activists' doomsday clock as a sort of sacramental of alarmism?
Mooting those points, somebody tell Guvna Newsom to move his gas-engine-ban up to 7 years to beat this deadline. A lot of good it will do to reduce emissions if we wait too long... (eyeroll)

What total ignorance and asinine arrogance, to think that any human has the power to save the earth.
If anybody of this mindset is around when everything begins to melt with fervent heat, they will be blaming humans.

I wonder why only left wingers believe in climate change. Really a rare phenomena, unexplainable by statisticians.

this is great news. There is a darn good chance i will live for at least 7 more years and will be able to witness the post-apocalyptic earth, but be old enough that i will not have to suffer living in a cave and eating grubs and bark for too long

I don't see any climate change guru complaining about the pollution and fire's left by homegrown terrorist, I mean protesters.
