This may only qualify as one of those “local news stories” for most of the media, but it could provide a chilling look at the future of law enforcement in America. A couple of weeks ago, some problems arose at an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado. One of the residents had unwisely invited Robert Thompson, 47, to stay at the apartment he shared with his girlfriend. He did this despite Thompson having a lengthy rap sheet and a history of criminal behavior. True to form, Thompson quickly began causing trouble of an alarming kind, including exposing himself to some young girls, throwing a rock through someone’s window

Aurora CO cops are cowed into submission. They are more worried about themselves rather than performing their duty. This can only end badly for all involved, including Robert Thompson.

Shaw almost sounds as though he is critical of the officers who answered the call. Surely he knows how these “domestic situations” go down and what can happen Think Jacob Blake for a starter.
Those who want the police defunded and/or abolished are too often those who need them for incidents like this one. In my opinion, McCoy got a lesson on not inviting known criminals to bunk with him and his girlfriend. He also got a lesson on what happens when the police cannot do their duty.
No, I do not fault the officers who answered the call.

The people who asked for police protection would be the first to scream bloody murder if the police had been forced to shoot this piece of scum.
They have no one to blame but themselves if police will not involve themselves in a domestic dispute with property damage.

When the police won't protect the citizens, It's then up to the citizens to protect themselves.
Citizen, protect thyself.

Totally disagree with #1's comment that police are worried about themselves. Yeah, right. Did you read the particulars on the situation with Jacob Blake?

This was a second amendment issue. "Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Problem solved.
Anybody who comes around to complain, better keep it civil and don't damage anything. Or else!!

Looks like one needs a couple of more reliable protectors. Like Smith and Wesson!

Re #7
I said the AURORA CO cops, not the Kenosha Wisconsin cops. You cannot deny that some police municipalities are being prevented from carrying out their duties by politicians (like Aurora, for example?) and those cops are either not engaging or retiring in droves. I'm sure the Aurora beat cops are not cowards-I was focusing on the command structure and the elected officials overseeing Aurora, who are just dying for an excuse to indict a cop for whatever reason.

When the police become useless as the Aurora cops have, they might as well be abolished. Anybody can write parking tickets. This same situation in flyover country would have been way different. First of all, nobody would invite a nut case to live with him and his girlfriend. Secondly, the well-meaning pajama boy does not exist outside liberal cities. Violent and crazy people are dealt with at the citizen level and all the police need to do is identify the body.

Sadly, #14, Aurora, CO IS in flyover country. The whole country has been cowed. If anyone thinks that only police officers who shoot blacks will be ruined in the future then you don’t understand how a communist revolution unfolds. The viciousness gets worse the more frightened the people become, the tactics more heartless. Americans have been wussified since the 1960’s because lawfare works.

When the police will not enforce the laws, and will not protect people, eventually The People will decide to protect themselves.
Mr. Thompson would MUCH rather have the police handle this in the ordinary way than to have The People decide to handle it. Ask Ken McElroy about how The People of Skidmore, Missouri handled his case. Oh, wait, he'd still be dead.

BS, #1. Police officers are employees, just like everyone else who works for a paycheck. And they do what their boss tells them to do.
My bet is that if much of this goes on, lots of officers will leave the force, either find a different career or find a department that still enforces the laws.

Why do people always blame the police. This situation clearly called for Social Workers to intervene and re-establish peace and tranquility. Hmmmmm.

Thompson will keep causing problems until a citizen is forced into using a firearm to protect themselves or their family, then the police will suddenly get brave and arrest the citizen. It's the easy way out.

The state I live in has the Castle Law in effect. My home or property are considered my castle.
Anyone who comes into my castle and I am deathly afraid of losing my life I can use deadly force on that person.
I have never had to shoot anyone, but I would.

The cops should have called in a social worker to deal with the problem. This is what law enforcement under demonrat presidential leadership would be like. Exposing your jewels to little kids would be acceptable with the two perverts in the WH. CO troubles started when they elected that Hickenpooper as governor. Wasn't he a CA degenerate import? But then demonrats have a huge crop of degenerates.

Thank you Gov. Polis, this is what you have allowed your state to degenerate into. You are a true dimocRAT.
