President Donald Trump defended his abrasive style of leadership at an ABC News town hall on Tuesday, arguing that it is more important to get things done.“I’m fighting a lot of forces,” Trump said. Sometimes you don’t have time to be totally, as you would say, ‘presidential.’ You have to get things done.”The president commented during an ABC News town hall on Tuesday night in Philadelphia where one voter asked whether he would act differently to inspire a more unified country if he won a second term.“I’m fighting a battle. It’s a big battlefield, and I have a lot of forces against me,” Trump replied.

He needs to continue to talk about this at his rallies. For he is right on the money. I have never seen so much opposition to a single man in my over 6 decades of life. But he is just the convenient target for their real ire, the American public that denied their girl Hildabeest the Horrible the brass ring.
He sure is setting a high bar for the next president in 2024 in terms of honesty. I am not sure we will accept anything less from our candidates anymore.

There is a youtube of Victor Davis Hanson speaking at Hillsdale College titled "George S. Patton: American Ajax". In it, he speaks about people in war who have to "get things done"; people like Patton, Curtis LeMay, Sherman, etc.
VDH provides strong parallels between these men and Trump.

Just exactly what does it mean to be/act "Presidential"? Mitt Romney fit the bill at first glance, IMHO. Well dressed, smooth voice, tall, handsome, etc., etc. He was eaten alive during the debates, thanks to Crowley, Brazil, etc., etc. Obama, tall, "clean cut, etc. (as Biden suggested), spoke with smooth sounding nicotine laced vocal chords, but telling us lies, disparaging the country, etc., etc., Trump tells it like it is, like a New York brawler. Which do you prefer? I don't necessarily want a "Presdiential" friend as President, I want one who gets things done!!

This is the leader I’m been waiting for since Reagan! I love a President with “huevos de acero!”

What is presidential? Some smooth talker that covers up a terrorist attack on an American Embassy with phony lies or about paying a terrorist country 150 Billion in cash or who takes a tour to apologize for our past history to countries around the world. Is that what they think is presidential? I call it disrespectful.

I hope Trump is the new standard for what is "Presidential."

Unlike the community punk who kept playing the race card and loved dividing the country whilst playing golf 24/7 this President gets thing done. I don't recall that we ever had such a workaholic like him in the WH. Of course that is something the gutter media ho's don't want to cover. The jerky voter 'asking' no doubt was a dumb dem!

Amen President Trump! Ignore the tender people who want you to become a Bush or Romney, rolling over for the democrats and allowing the media to abuse you! Fight like our country is at stake, which it is!

I would rather have someone with the balls to get things done and says "screw you" not caring what others think in order to do the right thing over a smooth talking con artist who talks a good line, never actually does anything, and makes you "feel good" while doing nothing. You might not like Pres. Trump's style, but he gets positive results for the American people.

From my perspective. Donald Trump is president. His style just differs from that of his predecessors. It doesn't negate the fact that, since he is president, anything he says or does is, by definition, presidential.

Trump is like a business consultant, ala McKinsey, who goes into an organization to see how they operate. Because politicians aren’t spending their own money, and haven’t been scrutinized in a long time, Trump is finding tons of sloppy procedures, practices, stupidity and underhanded wheeling and dealing. That he’s successfully correcting all this is what scares a lot of people.

I'll take the recent two Middle Eastern peace agreements and the one in Bosnia-Serbia ANY DAY from a "nonpresidential" President than ZIP-ZERO-NADA from a "presidential" President who gave away cash by the pallet load to a terrorist country like Iran. ANY DAY!
