The Senate Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday voted to authorize subpoenas for former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former FBI Director James Comey, and other Obama administration officials as part of its broad review into the origins of the Russia investigation. The committee on Wednesday held a business meeting to authorize committee Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., to issue notices for taking depositions, subpoenas, for records, and subpoenas for testimony to individuals relating to the panel’s “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation,

Comments:

Brennan, Comey, Clapper, Wray, Sidney Blumenthal, Lisa Page, Joe Pientka, Samantha Power, Bill Priestap, and Susan Rice are all getting subpoenas, as well as others. The Wheels of Justice turn slowly, but they do turn.

I hate to sound cynical but I don't think anything will come of this. No matter what political affiliation once you get to a certain level in government they'll just protect each other and get away with it. I hope I'm wrong but I remain skeptical. There really IS two levels of justice in America...

2 years late. We were promised by AG the Durham report by end of summer. Now that is back pedaled to by the election---and changed to an "interim report". Hang them all for criminality, and the rest for failure to perform their jobs.

Lemme check the calendar. Yeah, there must be an election coming up, because the Republicans in the Senate are playing conservative and pro-Constitution. But it will pass.

A Pennsylvania judge threw the book at several protesters – setting their bail at $1 million each – for allegedly rioting in the wake of the police shooting of a knife-wielding Lancaster man. Lancaster police nabbed a dozen people and one juvenile for staging the riots around 3 a.m. Monday in clashes that culminated in police deploying tear gas at the crowd. The overnight violence came on the heels of the death of Ricardo Munoz, the mentally ill 27-year-old who was seen on body cam footage charging at a cop with a knife in hand. The officer shot and killed Munoz Sunday afternoon outside his mother’s house in downtown Lancaster.

A trio of Democrats on Thursday introduced legislation to declare structural racism a public health crisis and to create a federal government center to tackle racial disparities in health care for Black communities and other minorities. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., teamed up with Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., and Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., to unveil their plan to require the federal government to begin actively developing "anti-racist health policy." The lawmakers pointed to the coronavirus pandemic and police brutality ‒ which has set off a summer of racial unrest in America ‒ as reasons to pass the legislation.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and running mate Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., have spoken out against violence that has plagued cities across the country amid protests against racism and police brutality, but others in their party have lagged behind, either qualifying their reactions or failing to address the matter altogether. President Trump and his campaign have accused Biden of being "too late" with his response, but the former vice president has sought to speak out more forcefully on the issue, with his latest statement coming after a man believed to be a Trump supporter was shot in Portland.
