The Democrat-controlled Minneapolis City Council is reportedly panicking as violent crime is surging throughout the city after they called for defunding the police department following the death of George Floyd in late May. During a two-hour Minneapolis City Council meeting on police reform, “council members told police Chief Medaria Arradondo that their constituents are seeing and hearing street racing which sometimes results in crashes, brazen daylight carjackings, robberies, assaults and shootings,” MPR News reported. “The number of reported violent crimes, like assaults, robberies and homicides are up compared to 2019, according to MPD crime data.

Begin with basic, elementary physics - Every action has an opposite and equal reaction. Stir in a generous amount of delusion and stupidity. Voila! a mayor and city council that gets blindsided by logic. We see the same results across the country in democrat-mismanaged cities.

They promised to release an army of social workers for heart to heart chats with the perps. Where are the vaunted social workers? Or... the commie city council members could allow their private armed security to help out....since the "privileged" public is already paying for that service with their tax dollars.

The City Council is doing exactly what it was elected to do. Voters put these members in office based on their vision for a better Minneapolis. When the city council debated eliminating the police, the voters were silent. Now the voters are getting exactly what they voted for. I don't blame the city council members, the police or the criminals. They are just producing he result that voters wanted. The voters have the utopia they voted for. Stop complaining and enjoy Nirvana!

Seriously how stupid can they be? They have completely demonized the police and made it impossible for them to do their jobs. 100 officers have left the force because of the utter lack of respect or support for the people who probably have the most difficult job in the country. Now they’re whining because they got exactly what they asked for. Not feeling so ‘privileged’ now, are they?

When I was an intern many years ago, the nurses has their own version of responding to 'codes'. If the doctor had been too stupid or lazy to recognize a patient who needed - not pounding on the chest and shocking the heart - but instead the grace to be kept comfortable and allowed to die, the nurses went 'slowly' to check on the 'coding' patient. In the same manner police know that speeding with sirens blazing and lights flashing and heading out with guns drawn will probably just get them killed or put on trial - so just 'Go Slow' and finish writing that speeding ticket or eating that donut.

Now that Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed, the focus has shifted to filling her seat on the Supreme Court. Whether or not Republicans should move forward with this play – while they have both the Senate and the White House – is being called into question, mostly from the mainstream media and the left. Naturally, they want the GOP to hold off and have the next president make the decision. Obviously, they're hoping Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be the two to appoint RBG's replacement. It's interesting, however, to go back and look at the lefty takes on this,

Perhaps it is glib to observe that, at the end of the day, Republicans should confirm a replacement for Justice Ginsburg because they can confirm a replacement for Justice Ginsburg, but there is a lot of truth to that observation. They can do it because the president has the power under the Constitution to appoint a nominee (I expect it to be Amy Coney Barrett, but Barbara Lagoa is a possibility and a great one), plus because the Senate has the power under the Constitution to confirm said nominee.
