President Donald Trump is running as the “law and order” candidate. But that hasn’t stopped him and his campaign from openly defying state emergency orders and flouting his own administration’s coronavirus guidelines as he holds ever-growing rallies in battleground states. (Snip) “If you can join tens of thousands of people protesting in the streets, gamble in a casino, or burn down small businesses in riots, you can gather peacefully under the 1st Amendment to hear from the President of the United States,” Tim Murtaugh, a Trump campaign spokesperson, said in a statement.
Trump’s refusal to abide by health guidelines — even those crafted by his own administration — underscores

Aren't these Trump rallies really just peaceful protests, kinda like BLM protests?

The virus rules are useless, dictatorial, arbitrary and unconstitutional. I defy them to live free.

Wake me up when the Antifa and BLM folks get the $3K fines.
There's a great story about Trump and his Margo Lago resort in Florida. Years ago, he put up a 50 foot flag pole for the US flag. Local regs limited poles to 30 feet and there was a $1,000 a day fine. Trump said he wasn't taking it down. When the fine reached $120K, Trump cut a deal with the city. Said if he donated the $120K to a veterans group, he'd abide by the 30 foot pole rule. City said okay, it's a deal.
Trump then built a 20 foot high mound and put a 30 foot flagpole on top.

FTA: '' ...and flouting his own administration’s coronavirus guidelines...''
I don't think the CDC can be said to be part of his administration. It has allegiance to the democrats, as far as I can tell.
President Trump is setting his administration's guidelines!

Trump pointed out how hypocritical our Gov. Sissy, as we call him, is. He told the BLM/Antifa crowds he was with them, but drew the line at true rally/peaceful protests. Last weekend in our state we had cars on the Strip, boats for Trump, and rallies in two places, all showing their love for Trump. I really believe he will carry Nevada.

Were those ‘rules’ passed by a legislature?

I just bough gas and a drink at a convenience store in Oakley Kansas, far west. Nobody wearing masks at all, not even clerks. Sign says "masks are recommended". Clearly everyone sends a big middle finger to the recommendations. Cool.

The best line (lie) in the article was the one about the President making a mockery of their legitimate peaceful protests happening around the country. Maybe PDTs advance team needs to hand out frozen water bottles, bricks, green lazers and molotov cocktails so it will look more peaceful.

The venue host should send a nice Xerox image if a middle finger in an envelope to the office that collects these fines.
