The beginning of college football season also marked the return of ESPN’s “College GameDay” to the airwaves on Saturday. Though the crew wasn’t together on campus for a high-profile Week 1 game somewhere, it was a welcome sight for college football fans after a long, winding offseason. There was plenty of discussion about COVID-19 and how it has already affected the season, but the most notable portion of the broadcast was the heartfelt discussion about racial injustice in the United States. It was a discussion that saw Kirk Herbstreit overcome with emotion. Watch this: (Tweet) In recent weeks, college football

So, does he want the black kids to get 100% of the college football scholarships? What would help him dry his tears?

Getting emotional as a newscaster was what got Oprah Winfrey ''let go'' form a job or two. It isn't mentioned much because of her vast wealth and her ability to get you silenced like a Soros can.

I have been watching the few games that have played thus far. Every time the subject of "racial justice" comes up or a stupid BLM psa comes on, I hit the mute button.
Someone on another thread said it best - I have "black fatigue." Show me a segregated drinking fountain, bathroom or lunch counter and I will fight like heck to correct it. Show me a "whites only" or "colored only" sign and I will march to have it taken down. Show me a school or college where a black kid needs police escort to enter and I will call representatives and write letters to change it. However, this is no longer the 60's civil rights struggle.
BLM and the left have chosen to canonize thugs, some drugged up, some with active warrants, all with weapons of one fashion or another and all violently resisting the police just trying to do their jobs. Had the person shot been a stone-cold sober minister, teacher or store manager who was on their way home and was shot for no reason, I'd be with them in anger. But such was not the case.
In each case this summer, the ventilated perp was armed and dangerous and actively resisting arrest, leaving the officers involved with no other choice but to defend their lives with lethal means. The attitude change needs to come from within, not without. That is not to say that racism doesn't exist. It does. However, not to the extent that excuses constant riots, looting and discord in this country. ENOUGH, ALREADY!!

I’m with you #13. Black fatigue hit me a long time ago but I didn’t know what to call it.
Herbie is now accepted by the left and demonstrated that he is most virtuous. This black thing is turning a lot of people off, like everything that gets overdone. You have to know when the deal is done and stop the spiel. I just get angry because I got the message and don’t want to hear anymore.

Quit using the leftards made-up word racism. Use bigotry instead. Or discrimination. But, of course, know the definitions of both, since most snowflakes don't or aren't sure.

Tried to watch the Derby as well...turned it off when the black owner started in with the BS, and the jockeys were wearing black armbands. Just shut up. Done.

When the spoiled teenage boys on these college football teams started making "demands" of their schools or they would not fulfill the contractual obligations of their scholarships and play this fall, college football joined most pro sports in my "I don't give a damn any more" list!!!! And when the colleges didn't immediately pull their scholarships and have them expelled from campus, I realized just how useless they all are in their current "woke haze"!!!
After 50+ years of being a die-hard UT fan, I am done!!!! I will be watching exactly the same amount of college football as I do the NFL this season -- which is not a second!!!!!

I'm sick of hearing about all this "racial injustice" 24/7. If there is so much racism against minorities in the U.S., how come it was white males who were discriminated against for the past 40 years, with all the scholarships, jobs and promotions going to women and minorities? Any black who can't make in today's America, with all the free stuff provided for them, just doesn't want to get ahead. They would rather rob, loot and burn, apparently... and blame it all on the White Man.

It was disgusting. I turned on the college football pre-game show and got lectured by a bunch of ESPN morons and pampered athletes. I turned it off and watched no more football today. I thought the college game was safe. Silly me.

What a shame, I missed some football. I did get together with 22 other owners and wives of Americas sports car and took a nice long 180 mile cruise in Southern Louisiana and Mississippi with a stop at a fantastic seafood restaurant, with cold adult beverages, and fellowship. I guarantee it was more enjoyable than watching a bunch of oversized thugs play a game, while being lectured. Waiting for next week end!

GameDay hasn't been the same since Desmond Howard showed up with his hip-jive act.
Maybe Herbie should pull his sons off the Clemson team to make room for some deserving black athletes.

I'm brought to tears because there's no affirmation in college sports and my people are dramatically under-represented. It's not right that these players are selected to play professional sports based on their talents and skills, instead of their skin color. When will this social-justice travesty be remedied?
