Darn good start, also anyone who assaults an officer is an immediate one year in jail. Anyone who participate in a riot is held responsible for any damage done even though they were not active. We should make people who create damage repair or replace. Keep them on work release programs till their debt is paid.

The lawyers are gonna love this. I don't know how Federal funds are doled out but this approach turns the practice into political weaponry - may seem like a good idea right now but not a good idea in the long run.

FTA: " . . . months of unrest and violence following the May killing of George Floyd by Minnesota police."
INFURIATING!
George Floyd was not killed by anyone - - especially not the Minneapolis police. The crazed criminal died from a pre-existing heart disease - - exacerbated by massive overdoses of narcotic drugs. It's an outrage that nearly everyone still refers to the thug's death as a "killing" or a "murder."

Look at it this way. It's the first step on defunding the police. This is what they've been screaming for for 3 months, what are they complaining about?

NY can not manage or account for their spending, If they could they would have a balanced budget. Let them go bankrupt.

#4, I don't disagree, but there are many times the Feds have used funding to influence states behaviors, including the threat to PULL that funding if states fail to comply. Seatbelt laws for instance and dozens of environmental laws.

Yes, a good start. Unfortunately though, the government wheels will turn slowly. It will be a while before the actual withholding of federal funds takes place and these cities start to feel the pain. Or they don't care?

I'm not even three sips into my morning coffee and already Lucianne has provided me with my first belly laugh of the day: first article posted on the front page, Cuomo beats his sunken chest and says Trump betta have an army.
SECOND line: TRUMP DEFUNDS NEW YORK CITY, SEATTLE, PORTLAND.
THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP. I'm praying that St Michael defend you...and us.

A basic rule of parenting is you do not reward bad behavior or you will get more of it. That rule certainly applies to these governors and mayors who have allowed their citizens to be terrorized and their property destroyed. Americans are tired of bailing out incompetency driven by democrat policies. Enough. Make them live in the communities they destroyed. It may change a few minds.

Americans should not pay for destruction that was caused unnecessarily because of political decisions. A show of force and certainty of punishment has been taught for a hundred years and is accepted as a way to curtail this. Not charging criminals after arrest enables and empowers them to keep violence going. Trump is right.

Most infuriating that even the most reliable conservative commentators continue to do the same
Pray for justice for the 4 police and a super brave jury who reacts to the facts and not the nonstop brainwashing from the media and some politicians

Like a posted repeated Pink Floyd was dying when the police arrived claiming he couldn't breath before the officer touched his overdosed dumbself. They make it sound like the police showed up just to murder him.
I hope the President hits some sanctuary cities also in the line up to defund.

A president with the guts to call it like it is. Tax payers should not be paying for domestic terrorism and that's all it is. BLM, Antifa and democrats, all anti American hypocrites. Got it.

Totally misleading headline and news story. The memo signed by POTUS orders federal agencies to send reports to the White House on where federal funding could be reduced to cities that have allowed anarchists to riot, loot and destroy. The headline and news story indicates the defunding order is in place and federal funds are being cut right now.

I can guarantee you DC is having a nervous breakdown this morning... K Street is gonna have a terrible time keeping the lobbyist under control... taxpayers are their bread and butter...time for some more political focus groups and faux polls telling democrats that biden is ahead.... they must convince black America that taxpayers owe them... they need their votes...
