Lake Tahoe Grocery Store Gets Visit
From Bear Twice In A Week

Original Article

KINGS BEACH – For the second time in just over a week, a Safeway grocery store in Lake Tahoe got an unexpected visitor: a bear. Cell phone video taken by a customer Aug. 27 showed the bear inside the Safeway in the community of Kings Beach, on the north end of Lake Tahoe. The bear appears to be rummaging around the produce section. This is the second time a bear has visited the same store this month. On Aug. 18, a bear came in, grabbed a bag of Tostitos and then walked back out, according to video obtained by CBS affiliate KUTV. No injuries were reported in either incident.

Comments:

Sounds like word has gotten out about the tasty pickin's in the Bear-American community and a little bear control's what needs to be done. Not sure I'd go to that Safeway given that there seems to be a bear problem.

Interesting, the first time the bear took Tositidos. The second time vegetables were the choice. Kinda increases my hopes that bears will survive long after we die of obesity.

Most bears get a bad rap when all they are looking for is a good meal. That statement does not apply to Brown, Kodiak, Polar or Grizzly because WE are included in the good meal category.

As long as he is successful, he'll keep coming back. I told my wife this last time. I said "He'll be back if he liked the stuff he got the first time." Bears are animals of habit, have a 'circuit' where they go to places where they have previously had success with food gathering. He'll be back.

Bears are smart. They've finally tracked down the source of those red and white coolers the campers bring into the forest. The number of human visits may be down this year and cut the usual "curb-side" deliveries, forcing them to go to the stores themselves. Were they wearing masks?

Here’s How We Know Biden Isn’t

Joe Biden wants the public to believe that he’s always deemed violence “unacceptable,” even when it’s perpetrated by leftists. But when he and his party held the national spotlight just two weeks ago, they were cheering on the same thugs as “peaceful protesters.” “I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right,” Biden said on Monday. That’s certainly news to anyone of the millions who watched his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. Biden had absolutely nothing whatsoever to say about the ongoing violence around the country. Zip. Zero. Nada. By the time

After a thug shot and killed a Trump supporter Saturday night in Portland, Democratic nominee Joe Biden suddenly got religion when it comes to leftist riots in our nation’s streets. The former vice president “challenged” President Donald Trump to “condemn violence,” then blamed Trump for “encouraging” it. Say what? It goes beyond hypocrisy when Biden for months sat in his basement in near-total silence as his far-left supporters rioted, looted and burned U.S. cities, and his own party egged them on. This same man chose as his vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who warned us all with a smile on

Much of America has been in some phase or another of a lockdown since the middle of March. Most of us want to know when we can return to normal. But the officials who have cooped us up, shut down businesses, ruined personal finances, outlawed gatherings, and created an environment of fear won’t tell us when we’ll be free of their grip. To call our situation discouraging is to understate the case. Numbers from the Centers for Disease Control’s most recently posted data set are reason for optimism, though. Deciding to go Colin Kaepernick one better, the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks players decided to cancel their playoff game to protest the Kenosha, Wisconsin police shooting of Jacob Blake, a career criminal with a warrant out for 3rd degree sexual assault, who was resisting arrest. That act triggered racial grievance riots, along with lootings, destruction, and a likely permanent decline for Kenosha, as usually happens in riot-torn cities. But the NBA didn't want to leave it alone and let justice take its course. Someone in the locker room of the Bucks suggested a game strike, and then the rest of them, lemmings-like, jumped onboard. The act was

The GOP is famous for its civility, its reasoned arguments, its uplifting messages, its thousand points of light, its doughty flag-waving. Historically, it's always been a bit of an anti-climax to the more raucous version from the Democrats. Not this time. What stood out for me in this convention was not its uplift, which was there, but its ragecat fury, its fight. As Eric Hoffer wrote in his 1979 memoirs: "People need to get angry,' and earlier 'there is a lack of ability to get angry.' The GOP is getting angry. But it was a positive anger, one that explicitly

Has President Trump just eaten Joe Biden's lunch? Sure looks that way based on multiple indicators flashing pro-Trump signals in the wake of the Democratic National Convention. Sure, the leftist press is reporting that Biden's favorability numbers have notched up in the wake of his curiously gaffe-less convention speech, but it's thin gruel. Fact is, that's the only thing they have. But if you look mostly on the right column of the front page of RealClearPolitics, it's pretty clear the trend is President Trump's friend. Apparently the artifice and over-processed convention infomercial, with its many technical sleights of hand (see here and here), didn't fool the voters.

Eight months ago, all but two House Democrats voted to impeach President Donald Trump, and in February every Democratic senator later found him guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors. As the articles of impeachment were heading over to the Senate to face certain defeat, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi intoned that “This president is impeached for life regardless of any gamesmanship on the part of Mitch McConnell. There is nothing the Senate can do to ever erase that.” Her comment prompted “#ImpeachedForLife” to trend on Twitter shortly afterward. Joe Biden drew a lot of pundit praise on all sides for his Democratic National Convention acceptance speech, signaling just how reasonable and "moderate" and mainstream he is. He loves his country. He prays to God. He thinks America is full of good people. He opposes COVID. He hates dictators. He cares about you. He care about jobs "for everyone."     He'll bring the economy back. "I will be an ally of the light," he insists — "light" being a word he uses 12 times, borrowing from Peggy Noonan's "thousand points of light," who incidentally loved the speech. A live audience wasn’t the only thing missing from the Democratic National Convention this year. So too was any substantive discussion of Joe Biden’s agenda should he win the White House. Has there ever been a political convention so utterly devoid of substance? In her mercifully brief speech on Wednesday, Hillary Clinton said that: “Everyone has a story about Joe’s thoughtfulness and empathy.” Apparently, team Biden required everyone who spoke at the convention to tell their stories. Almost none made it through their few minutes or airtime without exclaiming how empathetic, thoughtful, trustworthy — and other descriptions you normally hear at

A California district attorney is requiring her prosecutors to consider looters’ “needs” when weighing criminal charges against them. The new mandate, set forth by Contra Costa District Attorney Diane Becton, makes it tougher to prosecute looting cases in the county, which sits just outside San Francisco. Investigators must now consider “was this theft offense substantially motivated by the state of emergency, or simply a theft offense which occurred contemporaneously to the declared state of emergency?” according to the policy reported by local outlet East County Today. In making that determination, they must also consider five other factors, including “was the theft committed for financial gain or personal need?”
