At least 14 people were shot across New York City Monday and Tuesday — two fatally — amid a recent spate of gunplay, cops said. A 31-year-old man was blasted in the leg on Trinity Avenue near Pontiac Place in the Bronx around 4 a.m. Tuesday, cops said. He was taken to Lincoln Medical Center in stable condition. About two hours earlier, a 23-year-old man was shot in the stomach on Cruger Avenue near North Oak Drive, also in the Bronx, police sources said. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Around 15 minutes before that shooting, a 29-year-old man was

Why don't they just ban guns?

"Gun violence".....none of my many guns have ever shown any propensity for violence. I have kept a loaded .45 automatic on my nightstand for the last 40 years and it hasn't moved an inch, had shot nobody, robbed no stores. How weird that they have such violent guns in NYC.

The writers lost me in the first sentence with the use of the word ‘gunplay’ to describe fatal shootings. What is next, bludgeonplay, stabbingplay, strangulationplay?

#1, the guns don't fire themselves. Better to keep the guns (in the hands of law-abiding citizens) and ban the bad guys who use them to commit crimes.

Absolutely, #2. I have stated here many times, though not recently, the following.
The first time that a gun is arrested, indicted, tried and sent to prison, I may begin to listen to the left on gun control.

Gosh, what a 'vibrant city' as the hipsters would say, and yet Cuomo wants to quarantine visitors from 'bad' states. I wonder if Cuomo and DeBlasio realize the destruction and death that they have brought to the state and city. I guess not since they seem to be doubling down.

Yep!
If Guns were the problem, my neighborhood in South Mississippi would have the roads running red with blood.
But..... they're not.
In New Yawk City (named after the biggest Slave Trader of them all, the Duke of York)..... they don't need 'Gun Control', they need THUG Control.
-No Bail required when a Thug is arrested and processed..... then walks free, laughing?
-Thousands of Criminal Thugs released from Riker's Island?
What did Warren Wilhelm EXPECT would happen?
.... and these people think (No, they don't Think..... they Believe!) that they are so much SMARTER than the rest of us Rednecks out here in Flyover Country!

Don't worry; they have a law in place, the Sullivan Act, I believe, that prohibits citizens from carrying guns without a very hard-to-get permit. As soon as they publicize this law, I'm sure the mayhem will stop. Of course, the law was enacted back in 1911, but I guess it didn't receive much publicity.

The good news is that we get an ongoing example of their marksmanship and effectiveness.
On dead per every seven shot. And that fits pretty well the data for Chicago thugs, too. They are very bad shots.
Two out of three is better, if you know what I mean.
They shouldn't keep picking at this "civil war" thing. Really, it is not a good idea. We don't want it, don't want to go there. It is a terrible thing. Don't do it. But if we are forced......
Japan shouldn't have started WW2, either. Eventually, they figured out that it was a bad idea. We didn't really want to be in that one, either.
