Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers urged President Trump to call off his trip to Kenosha this week — fearing the president’s visit to the city will “only hinder our healing.”
The governor made the plea in a Sunday letter, portraying Kenosha — where Jacob Blake, 29, was shot seven times by police on Aug. 23 — as a divided community that’s already on the mend.
“I, along with other community leaders who have reached out, are concerned about what your presence will mean for Kenosha and our state,” Evers wrote in his letter.

I fear for the safety of President Trump when he goes out making appearances. This is a tough subject
to bring up but it must be discussed. These crazy b@stards will stop at nothing to prevent him from being elected again. It is almost impossible for the Secret Service to protect him in an open environment when he is on stage making his speech. I would hope that they would put a screen around him for these appearances. It is imperative that he be totally safe in these crazy times !

There is no reason to go to Kenosha. And please, Mr. President, forget contacting the Blake family. In the aftermath of Katrina, President Bush had to be careful about going into the ravaged areas where he wasn't wanted and that was wise.

Mr Evers has his own mush-brained reason for wanting Trump to skip Kenosha. My reason is for our best President ever’s safety. We cannot afford to lose him!

The police department, business people & congressman invited President Trump. The mayor & governor failed the city by not honoring Trump's request to send the National Guard immediately & stopping the violence. .....ask the people who lost their businesses. I admire Trump for going to areas others won't go to.

Most of the people rioting in Kenosha are from outsiders being brought in by someone or some organization. The democrats are in this up to their ears because I know the democrats will stop at nothing!

Thank you, #4, for your comment especially the last sentence. It speaks of his presidency because Americans have had to tolerate "business as usual" for years with different Presidents and different reasons. Most previous Presidents were self-serving individuals and expected the taxpayer to fund those self-serving attitudes.
President Trump is opening my eyes and a lot of others.

From what I have read, Kenoshans were not the rioters. Night 2 after the shooting was as fast as they could get there. Go meet with the citizens/residents Mr President. If they show, Round up the ‘citizens of the world’ that are there to burn down that random Wisconsin town, interrogate them with the handful of non-crooked FBI agents left to find out who in the democrat party is funding these Rioters.

"How dare Trump come into MY STATE and show support for the police and business owners who have seen their lifelong investment burned and looted" --- Democrat Tony Evers, Governor of Wisconsin.

Would love to see a large resident/merchant/police "Make Kenosha Great Again" rally.

How can he hinder their healing when they haven't even started? When 175 are arrested in one night for rioting, etc, how can you call that healing?
I fear for the President's life if he goes there, and how many will really appreciate his concern? I would rather he stay home and be safe.

#2..good try. This is America and anyone can go anywhere they want to, or would you prefer the Constitution be changed to permit imposing travel restrictions on conservatives? Also I don't recall Bush being roundly applauded in your media for his compassionate distancing. How about posting some articles or clips that support this. Science!

I too fear for his safety...but this is what great leaders do. They run toward the battle, not away from it or hiding in the basement. This is why he has been chosen by these times to lead this country. If only more of his supporters rushed to his side to help him...

Hinder our Healing??? Really, all this touchy feely stuff is taking precedence over STOPPING THE RIOTERS/LOOTERS?
Democraps are so stupid they think the touchy feely BS rules over Citizen Safety and keeping RIOTERS under control and arresting the violent ones.
This is NOT a protest, that BS narrative died with the first FIRE SET!

Excuse the input from Capt. Obvious, but that is why Evers is the progressive governor of a progressive state begging the POTUS to stay away from them. Evers is afraid he might catch some of Donald Trumps infectious optimism.

The President will do fine, and going to talk to the people and show that he cares is important, and the right thing to do.
