The RNC 2020 keeps getting better and better! What amazing moments. On Wednesday night young Republican Madison Cawthorn spoke at the RNC from his wheelchair. Madison is running for Congress in Mark Meadows’ former district. Madison is in a wheelchair after a devastating car accident when he was 18. During his speech Madison spoke about famous Americans who made outstanding contributions to this country in their early years.

I was hoping he would be asked to speak at the convention. His speech would have been excellent under any circumstances, but coming from a young man who has overcome such adversity, it was very inspirational.

He was amazing. He and some other speakers have renewed my faith in this country.

Is he the kid who had an appointment to the Naval Academy before the car crash?

The youth of the republican party was on full display tonight. Madison was spectacular. And to stand on his own legs at the end of his presentation was a tear-jerker. You go, sir!

Mr. Cawthorn, Klacik, Brewer. The articulate and courageous Governor of South Dakota. These new faces, these wonderful and intelligent conservative patriots were thrilling to watch this week. I believe we are actually seeing the beginning of a either a new and dynamic conservative Republican party to come or the birth pangs of what will be a new party.

I’ll be the negative guy. He looks creepily Hitler Youth to me. Kind of like the douchey guy who was an ass in high school. The villain in an 80s movie.

Yes, awesome speech he gave. But what on earth does this have to do with the NFL? Can whoever posted the article explain, please?

Re#7: But of course, because his “appearance” matches some perception you have of a leftist youth movement in Germany eighty years ago, nothing he said last night and nothing he has accomplished in life matters. Only his “creepy” resemblance to some young leftists from a long, long, long time ago.

Poster 7, be honest; any white guy, with enough self respect, who attends and is showcased at a conservative event, is going to be 1. White, 2. Neatly dressed, 3. Well combed and clean shaven.
You could also claim, Hitler Youth looked like young Mormon missionaries, attendants at high class prep schools, or the offspring of both political parties when they are on display for their parents.
Methinks you obsess a bit.

#8, the NFL thing is not in the original headline - must be a typo by OP.
As to #7, I guess he was the star quarterback in high school with all the cheerleaders and the fast girls swarming around him. Who uses words like “douchey”? A young man in a coat and tie with a decent haircut does not a Nazi make. The guys in the streets dressed in black and hurling deadly objects at the police are the Hitler Youth of the 21st century.

#7, what is your problem? No, he just looks like a nice, clean-cut young man. Did kids pick on you a lot when you were young? I was picked on because I was shy and sensitive, but I never made sweeping generalizations about people as a result. Maybe you are just one of those insecure people whose maturity was stunted like the Antifa, BLM, and other leftists who jump to conclusions about others based on looks alone. It's really sad and I feel sorry for you. You may be missing out on a lot of possible good friendships because of your prejudices. It's a shame.

Maybe it's the way Madison looks kind of like a young Tom Brady, and his hair is styled the way Reagan did his that triggered #7.

What a remarkable young men. Gives me hope that the entire country has not gone nuts. Praying that he wins the election.
#7 perhaps you would feel more at home with the ‘transgender mermaid king-queen’ with purple hair who proudly spoke at the Democrat convention. The rest of us prefer Madison Cawthorn.

Look, I fully admit I'm going on instinct here. I was on a lot of sports teams in HS and college. I was head of a large, Southern, fraternity in college. And I was in the Army for almost a decade.
There are certain guys that look great, but that are not what they appear. Guys that make every play about themselves. Guys you cannot depend on in the field.
I just get the creepy feeling from him. It's a sense that has been seldom wrong, and was going completely off the charts when I see him.
Call me all the names you want to call, project whatever you want, but please do look at him with caution.

I have known many insecure people such as #7. When they feel threatened by a difference of opinion their feelings get hurt and their reaction is to attack the messenger. They have no logical, nor evidence based, rebuttal, only their feelings which are too often only based on family or peer influence, not experience nor knowledge. It isn't only opinion/ politics, but sports, music, food....they have a need to feel superior find fault to criticize others. My family is full of this type and they are all unhappy dims.

And there were a number of them at Fort McHenry last night, too. Crippled in war, yet struggling to stand for the flag.
It is so disgusting that those millionaire punks disrespect the flag, and so wonderful a contrast for the heroes to stand when it is so very, very difficult for them to do so.

It was so inspiring...this young millennial had courage and drive... a true young American who overcome odds and found a mission... he will be a great congressman...I hope all my grandsons were watching... he is focused on America and what he can do as a citizen... he put the squad to shame with their angry demands of entitlements.... ask not what the taxpayers can do for you AOC... ask what you can do for America..

What he said is worth 100 times what he looks like! He said: "Kneel for God ... but stand for our flag". Which he did despite being paralyzed from the waist down. Judging a book by its' cover has always been wrong.
In the meantime, multi-millionaire sports figures "take a knee" during our national anthem! Men and woman of ALL colors died for those colors ... so these idiots can claim repression by the same society that allows them to be in the one-tenth of 1%.
Now compare our Republican youth with the Democrat party youth. Theirs are hateful and mean (Omar, AOC, Chelsea, Ayanna Pressley, the one with green hair, etc) while ours look like leaders (Charlie Kirk, Elise Stefanik, Kayleigh McEnany, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, etc). Says it all.

Don't know Madison, and he could be exactly as he seems.
That said, I also learned in the field if you have a guy like #7/17 on your team that has a gut-check feeling about something, you listen to them.
They aren't always right, but then, who is? Sometimes those sorts of guys keep you out of ambushes, or other exciting events. You proceed cautiously and investigate carefully until you know one way or the other.
