In a makeup video, Alexandria Ocasio-
Cortez complains that no one takes her

Going the full Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has joined the crowd: But unlike the celebs, who don't take themselves too seriously, Ocasio-Cortez sees all sorts of significance in her makeup routine, and demands respect and power for it. “I used to think that I would be taken less seriously, and as the youngest woman in Congress and as a woman of color, it’s so hard to be taken seriously,” the 30-year-old Democratic socialist told Vogue magazine in the video clip, just before showing her gold glittery eyeshadow palette.

Comments:

OK, surely, something as momentous as a makeup video will prove that she is a real serious, deep thinker, right?🙄
When you believe in Marxism, you prove you are an unserious person.
Then add in her lunatic, counter-factual tirades on any particular subject, and she is clearly just a mal-educated tip-stealing barmaid, far, far out of her league.
With horse teeth.

She is young and thin. You can stick enough makeup on her to make her look presentable. But then she opens her mouth, and all that evil and hate comes pouring out. There is no way to hide that degree of ugliness which permeates her very being to her very -- well, I was going to say "soul", but I'm pretty sure she sold that several years ago to get where she is today...

I'm sorry but if she didn't know what a garbage disposal was I can't help her. And now she wants to create a National Progressive Pen Pal club so by buying stamps and sending a letter to a Pen Pal, that will save the Post Office. If her hair caught on fire she would put it out with an ice pick.

Chicago police on Tuesday released surveillance video asking for the public's help in identifying a group of people who broke in and ransacked a store on the city's West Side back in May. Video showed dozens of people swarming the West Chicago Avenue business, which sold electronics among other items, around 1:45 p.m. on May 31. Many were captured taking whatever merchandise they could find over a roughly 25-minute period. At least one person violently kicked and shattered a protective covering under a counter that housed additional items.

The murder of Trump supporter Jay Bishop by Black Lives Matter rioter Michael Reinoehl in Portland Saturday night was a watershed moment, an introduction of the political violence that has been common in many other countries but has seldom been seen in America. However, it does have antecedents: the heated runup to the Civil War is the most exact analogy, which is not all that surprising given that we may now be careening toward a second one. The political violence broke out in the Kansas Territory. Senator Stephen A. Douglas of Illinois was the main architect of the principle of popular sovereignty,

How bad do things look for Joe Biden’s campaign right now? Consider this: Democrats are worried about Minnesota, a state no Republican presidential candidate has carried since Richard Nixon’s 1972 landslide. Yet polls show President Trump gaining ground in Minnesota, and Democrats are worried because they haven’t seen any appearances by Biden or his running mate Kamala Harris. “Why aren’t they here?” one Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party official told Minnesota Public Radio last week. “We need to hear from them. We need to see their presence on the ground.” Biden’s peril in Minnesota is in many ways emblematic of everything that’s gone wrong for Democrats in this campaign.

An old Indian trick 15 replies
Posted by DVC 8/24/2020 1:46:22 PM Post Reply
As wise stewards of the land, North America's Indians routinely started forest fires. They wanted grazing grounds for the animals they hunted and open spaces to live and hunt on. So before Columbus arrived, there was a lot less forested land than we have today. The Europeans put an end to the Indian fires, and for centuries, they harvested the forests for timber. But that has ended in many parts of the country, California in particular. After the 1906 earthquake, San Francisco was rebuilt using lumber from the Santa Cruz forest, just south of the city. But I don't believe it's been harvested since.

To my surprise, Jack Cashill's new book, Unmasking Obama, couldn't be more relevant to the political struggle facing us today. In 2020, as in 2008 (and throughout the two Obama presidential terms), the key to political power is what must be called "information warfare" (my term, not Jack's) between the mighty establishment media and the feisty conservative alternative media, which Jack likens to the samizdat underground commentary in the old Soviet Union. It is the process of the unmasking of the phony propaganda peddled by the all-powerful establishment by the resource- and prestige-poor "Lilliputians" (an appropriation of Jonathan Swift's work that the satirist surely would approve of)

In making that determination, they must also consider five other factors, including “was the theft committed for financial gain or personal need?”
