Activists urge Pritzker

A group of community activists implored Gov. J.B. Pritzker to declare a state of emergency and have the Illinois National Guard deployed to Chicago on Sunday, just two days after Mayor Lori Lightfoot and her allies stymied a similar push during a special City Council meeting. In calling for the assistance, the activists pointed to the city’s surging summer gun violence as they urged both members of the City Council and Congress to rally behind police officers they claim have been outnumbered and attacked at recent protests.

Gov Pritzker is ALMOST as bad as Lightfoot. He will ignore the request. That is what democrat governors and mayors do. Turn their backs on their constituents.

Rioters and Looters need to be unloaded on. A severe penalty is the only way to diminish the ranks and stop it. ARM the police who are trained to do their job, c'mon people its not that difficult. The down side for lightfoot and pritzker is that there'll be fewer democrats to vote for them.

Interesting that the article doesn’t give any background or even the name of the “community activist” group. Are they “organizers” like 0bama or are they law and order conservatives? At this point, Light-brain will lash out at any group which is pushing at her.

It is the mayors and Govenors responsibility to maintain safe communities within their borders. They WANT a 'Kent State' to blame on Trump in the election! If he orders in troops, he's responsible for the troops and any civilians they kill or injure restoring order. A trap anyone could see.

Lightfoot has many personal and psychological problems. We can analyze her unfitness for office later but meanwhile people are being murdered and the city is being torn apart. It takes a lot of stupid people to put a nasty, stubborn, egotistical dummy into office knowing she can't even control her own life.

Buyer's remorse? It's a little late for that. When you vote for someone based on their skin color and sexual orientation rather than their skills, experience and principles, it can backfire. Now you're reaping the whirlwind. Reap away. With a democrat governor I wouldn't hold your breath on getting any relief. You want relief? Vote Republican. See, it wasn't that hard, was it?

An alien from another planet, dropped from the sky with no knowledge of history, or background, or political ax to grind, would view what has been going on in Chicago (and other cities around the US), and come to the conclusion that Lightfoot and Police Supt Brown and Gov Pritzker all WANT Chicago destroyed. Just look at the night they looted Michigan Avenue. The police KNEW around 11:30 from social media posts that there was a caravan of cars filled with people headed north to the Loop to loot it. The looting went on for more than 5 hours straight, all night long, without pause, while police just stood and watched. There is video of them watching. PLUS, the bridges over the river weren’t raised until 4:30 in the morning. Five hours of access to the Michigan Avenue stores. If they couldn't keep them out, they could have at least kept them IN to arrest them. Nope. And no tear gas, no pepper spray, no rubber bullets, no bean bags, no whacks with a night stick or baton. Nothing. But even if the police had ignored what must have been “stand down” orders and made mass arrests, Lightfoot and Pritzker hava a backstop in District Attorney Kim Foxx. Those who do get arrested are turned right back onto the street by her office with cash bail at a fraction of the ebay value of the stuff they looted, if they are even charged at all. That alien from another planet would be asking "why are your leaders deliberately destroying your cities?" And that, my friends, is the question EVERYONE should be asking.

In mid-March of 2020, the United States of America became a socialist country, despite President Trump's promise in his State of the Union address one year prior. To those who lost their non-essential jobs, those who met empty shelves, those who discovered that their "free" education was too costly, those driven insane by incessant fear-mongering, and those faced with capricious and nonsensical restrictions — welcome to socialism. Deceived by the arrogance of science and appeal to authority, or perhaps with false science to mask nefarious motives, public health and safety were used as a contrivance to replace liberty, freedom, and democracy with the Game of Socialism

There was a fascinating interview with Soviet KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov in 1984 in which he foretold in unerring detail the exact social and political scenarios that would exist in America in the near future. His contention was that the KGB was involved primarily not in espionage, but in an activity that he called "ideological subversion." According to Bezmenov, the KGB's goal was to take down America by slowly changing the minds of the population from within. He said the Soviet Union was producing Marxist-Leninist thoughts that are "being pumped into the heads of American students without [those thoughts] being counterbalanced by American/capitalistic values."
