A group honoring the life and legacy of American civil rights icon Susan B. Anthony has refused to accept President Trump's posthumous pardon of her, arguing the effort would give unearned legitimacy to the 1873 court proceedings that found her guilty of breaking a law that prohibited women from voting.
Trump this week announced he was pardoning Anthony for the conviction, a measure the president took on the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which recognized the right of women to vote.

I don't think they have standing to make that choice. The left is outsmarted by Trump again.

Who are they to accept or decline anything? If I start an Elizabeth Montgomery fan club, can I accept an emmy for her?

I think it is not that Trump-haters believe Trump's policies can be effective and positive (whatever they are), it is just that they so desperately want all the power that comes with the office for themselves, not to benefit the people.

They have nothing to do with it. Whether they accept it or not is totally irrelevant. It isn't newsworthy.

This is pure vindictiveness. Think these people won’t make life hell on earth for Trump supporters if, God forbid, they are successful in November? Democrats have lost all sense of reason. They are running on pure power hungry hatred and anything good is their mortal enemy.

Then Susan B Anthony’s name shall forever be condemned in this household as unworthy of recognition. Every household in the US should do the same. Wipe her name from history. Condemn the women who refuse to acknowledge this president should likewise be held in contempt. You want equality? You got it, babe...

I understand why they refuse to accept the pardon, because it "would give unearned legitimacy to the 1873 court proceedings that found her guilty of breaking a law that prohibited women from voting."
HOWEVER, Susan B. Anthony WAS found guilty of breaking the law. All their blathering does not change that fact rendering their refusing to accept the pardon meaningless.

The official records will show that Susan B. Anthony was pardoned by President Donald Trump. It will not record that the Trump deranged officials at her memorial pitched a hissy fit about it.
Ignore the crude and crazy people!

All that says is that the group is leftist ... and has TDS. I am grateful women were given the right to vote... except for those who have left brains. I liked that at first only property owners could vote; I fear that now all and sundry (including illegals) are disenfranchising the rest of us.

Do you think that these people (and others like them with severe TDS) will ever realize that Trump is purposely exposing their insanity for all to see?
As crazy as it is, I do find their behavior quite amusing.
They also don't seem to understand that their rigidity of TDS is turning many people against them, some of whom were on their side politically before Trump came along and peeled off their masks.

While the group’s assertion about the 1873 court proceedings may be valid, they don’t have any standing to reject a Presidential Pardon as that is the President’s call. At this point in time who would know Susan B. Anthony’s true feelings about being pardoned?

Speaking nothing original here, but if Barack had come up with the idea and trotted his cloddy wife out to headline an event announcing it, there would have been oceans of joyful tears and 24/7 thanks and adoration.
Barack should be bowing and prostrating himself in total submission to the vastly superior mind and creativity of his successor.

It isn't theirs to accept or reject. The historical record is now, Susan B. Anthony-convicted in 1873, pardoned in 2020.

Donald Trump also pardoned Jack Johnson the first black heavyweight boxing champion. He was convicted of violating the Mann Act even though the act was passed after he crossed state lines with the woman in question (he married her). Johnson was no saint but it was pretty clear the sports establishment was out to get him. There were lots of people including Mike Tyson who wanted Obama to grant him a posthumous pardon but he never did. President Trump pardoned Johnson in 2018.

Unlike Margaret Sanger Susan B. Anthony believe women having children was not an impediment to a fulfilling work and home life.
She campaigned for businesses to accommodate women who were pregnant and those with children.
Not kill the unborn so one could work.
Sounds like Sanger might have been in the pocket of big business.

The nags are throwing schift against the walls to hide the fact that Susan's first vote was for a Republican, retired Union General Grant. You know, the guy that totally defeated the southern Democrat rebellion against the Constitution. Our current crop of Marxists are in a panic that people just might learn that it was the Republican Party that supported the rights of Negroes and women to vote against violent resistance from the Democrats.

That vote she cast was for a Republican, Ulysses S. Grant!
Seeing that they are not blood relatives and old Susan B. Anthony did not mention the museum in her will or leave them power of attorney to act on her behalf, they don't have standing to legally accept or reject anything in her name. It is pure malice and anti-Trump hatred that motivates them to get publicity and a pat on the back from fellow running dog Lefties. So now a museum dedicated to anyone gets to control that person's afterlife!
So, if a posthumous medal was given to Ms. Anthony, or a street or maybe a school was named after her, these idiots think they get to accept or reject the honor? Really? Says who? Just a bunch of old hens clucking.

Lets face it, if President Trump single-handedly cured all cancers, the lie-berals would be screaming about what a "homophobe" President Trump was because he "hates homosexuals" so much that he didn't cure AIDS!!!!
I'm not exaggerating in the least either. This is the deranged mindset of all the lie-berals that have let their president, Donald Trump, live rent-free in their heads 24/7/365 for the last 4 years. The resulting Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is just devastating to their frail little illogical and hate-filled egos!!!!

Perhaps giving Democrat women the right to vote has hurt America?
Look what Kamala Harris has done to poor, crime-ridden California.
Kamala's laugh sounds like a Hyena.
She looks like the mean, angry wife of Vladimir Lenin.
The Soviets sold a very sweet ice cream to honor Lenin's wife.
I would not touch their sick ice cream with a ten foot pole.
I will never vote for an Obama DemocRAT again.

Pardons do not lend legitimacy to bad laws. In fact, pardons are often used to vindicate those who have been unjustly convicted of breaking bad laws. That said, self-appointed "representatives" of a person who died years ago have no say in whether or not the President pardons said person. To be honest, even Anthony herself cannot reject being pardoned If she were still alive.
