Former Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich crossed party lines Monday night to speak out in support of presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden at this year’s virtual Democratic National Convention (DNC).During his brief online testimony standing at a literal fork in the road in his hometown Columbus suburb of Westerville, which also held the fourth round of Democratic debates, Kasich’s appearance was meant to suggest broad bipartisan support even coming from a NeverTrumper who never had and never was going to support Trump in the first place.(Snip) “He’s reasonable, faithful, respectful, and you know, no one pushes Joe around.”

Comments:

The photo of Kasich is just so Kasich. Apparently he went to his home town in Ohio and stood at a fork in the road - or the driveway? Whatever. Priceless. And Phillip Wegman tweets a great comment about the photo.

So Kasich paints a picture of a lone motorcyclist, daring and willing to follow his own direction. Bernie paints a picture of a truck driver, responsible, practical, hauling what is loaded and making delivery where scheduled. It sounds like there are two Joes. The real Joe escaped the old folks home, got in a car, and has no idea where he is or where he is going.

Kasich is such a wussy. Really, dude! The choice is between socialism (Biden/Harris) and free market capitalism (Trump/Pence) -- more government versus less government, government-run health care and private health care, tyranny and liberty, Antifa/BLM and freedom. Kasich so loathes Mr. Trump that he'd give up the right policies in favor of someone he fancies. Screw him and the horse he rode in on! I wish we could protest in front of that SOB's house for days. No looting. Just protesting. Would he like it? Nope. But that is what socialism brings to the rest of us. So screw him!

There’s a reason President Trump calls him “Sleepy Joe.” Joe Biden would be the oldest person ever elected president, and, yeah, he sometimes does seem to be slowing down. And for sure he’s no Bernie Sanders — he has no fiery radical program to change the world. If elected, Biden won’t be known for his inspirational oratory, his close attention to policy details, his bold vision or his dramatic reshaping of society. He’s been in public office for nearly 50 years and is used to playing the game according to its long-established rules. He’s more swamp creature than revolutionist.

WASHINGTON — When Bill Clinton gave his convention acceptance speech in 1992, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was a toddler. Clinton, whose presidency steered the party to the center a generation ago, returned to the convention podium Tuesday night as a gray-haired party elder; Ocasio-Cortez, a rising insurgent pushing the party to the left, got a snippet of speaking time. The two personify a yawning gap within the Democratic Party between baby boomers who have dominated party leadership for decades and a rising generation of more progressive, diverse younger people.

In 1982, Ma was hired by the CIA as a Case Officer and was assigned overseas in Asia. In that position, he held “Top Secret” and “Sensitive Compartmentalized Information” security clearances. In composing my new book, Unmasking Obama: The Fight to Tell the True Story of a Failed Presidency, I thought hard about whether I should address the question of Barack Obama's sexuality. Two considerations persuaded me to pursue the issue. One was the no-holds-barred media treatment of the sex life, real and imagined, of Donald Trump and Brett Kavanaugh. The second was the fact that despite Obama's early feint to the center, his presidency was something of a golden age for gay America. A May 2012 Newsweek cover story, in fact, dubbed Obama "the first gay president."
