Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) broke with President Trump on Friday by saying there is no debate over whether Sen. Kamala Harris is a U.S. citizen, remarks that came after the president encouraged a conspiracy theory that the California Democrat may not be eligible to serve as vice president because her parents are immigrants.
In a pair of tweets, Graham, a frequent defender of Trump, said he disagreed with Harris on “plenty of issues,” calling her “one of the most liberal members of the U.S. Senate.” But he said there should be no debate over her citizenship status.

So now it's racist to ask if someone is a citizen and eligible to run for the presidency? BTW...President Trump did not 'appear to promote a racist conspiracy theory',
he simply said he had HEARD someone say that, he didn't say he AGREED with the statement. He said he thought the DNC would have checked to make sure she was eligible before nominating her as the Vice President candidate.

If Idi Amin was Biden's running mate, Grahamnesty would find a way to say he is an American. Grahamnesty is everthing we have come to expect from career swamp dwelling Rebubicans.

Why does this continue to be such an ambiguous question? Can’t the Supreme Court finally define in clear language what the Constitution says about this?

If she was born in the USA, why is this an issue?

From what I have read, it is quite debatable if she was a citizen of the USA at birth.

Tru.p didn't aim anything. The question of her citi, enship came up in LEFT WING media first. I remember commenting on it just after she was tapped for Biden's VP. I said at the time, that she and Obama shared the same nativity problems, but they forced Obama in, so it was beating a dead horse.

Exactly, #7. My dad was born under the same circumstances (in 1927), and there was never any question whether he was a citizen.

her parents are not citizens .Mom not for sure .Dad dual citizen at best .plus the prebirth residency issue .. running for President of The US is a huge deal and dual citizens aren’t eligible . The founders very clear on where the President's loyality should be .

Effing moron. I am SO sick of Graham.
The issue is NOT whether she is "an American citizen", you idiot. It is whether she is a "natural born citizen", which is a specific term used by the founding fathers. They could have said "citizen" but the DIDN'T.

There is a HUGE issue and Miss Lindsey needs to study up on this. If she was declared an American Citizen based on something Congress did...she IS NOT "Natural Born." Prove me wrong...

#6, the Supremes will not likely touch this one.
And if they do, you probably don't want to hear what they will say. They will say basically ANYONE born in the USA or to a single US citizen parent will be OK.

Goober is a lawyer right? So he must know that the cases he refers to have to do with "birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment and NOT "natural born" citizenship under Article 1 of the constitution. THESE ARE 2 DIFFERENT THINGS. Even if you assume arguendo that she is a citizen (BTW there are people who disagree with the prior decisions since it was not the intent ( as written articles by them say)of the writers of the 14th Amendment to confer birthright citizenship but rather to clarify that SLAVES were full citizens). Nonetheless Goober is purposefully conflating the issue. The Aricle 1 qualification issue has never been litigated and there ARE scholarly papers on both sides of the argument as to whether place of birth or blood governs. If blood governs Ms. Harris would not qualify regardless of the location pf her birth as NEITHER of her parents were citizens of he US at the tinme of her birth and only 1 ever became a citizen. She is/was a dual national of he US AND JAMAICA.

For you newbies to this issue, #13 stated it as clearly as possible. I would only add that The Constitution allows for simple citizens to be Senators and Representatives - clearly they meant a higher standard of citizenship for The President.

re #'s 7 and 11 I believe the issue is native born vs natural born. If just being born in the US is ok, are you saying the children of illegal aliens are eligible to be president? Really? I think someone said she was an anchor baby.

There has been a very deliberate attempt to conflate native born with natural born. It is like the 'birther' charge in 0bama's case. Its a shame the Republican Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee should be joining in on it. No wonder the Dem/Commies can pretend the country is evenly divided.

YaYaYA been there done that with Barry. She a lot more solid than Ilhan Omar. It won't matter because Biden is toast anyway. Mattressback got on the ticket because she knows she has no chance against Mooch in 2024 so she's going for the hail Mary play.

#'s 5 and 9: I heard Mike Huckabee say a couple of nights ago she had more baggage than Delta Airlines on Thanksgiving weekend. Has anyone seen the video of her on Ellen's show and the joke about 'does any of them have to come out alive?' I saw it on Twitter and it should go viral.

I finally found a superb website that documents, in detail, the Constitutional and Founder's Intent on Natural Born Citizens. I have been searching for one like this ever since 0bama declared his candidacy: It is:
http://www.usnaturalborncitizen.com/index.html
There is a page specific to Harris at : http://www.usnaturalborncitizen.com/kamalaharris.html
To people who say as long as you have an American citizen parent, or are born on inside the borders, you can be President, read this website and relieve yourself of ignorance. And for people who know the true meaning of "Natural Born Citizen" but have been unable to cite specifics, this site will give you all the ammunition you need.

WHERE would an Indian woman choose to have her baby? In the U.S., or in India?? If Kamala Sutra was born outside the U.S., the game is over. No citizenship.
And why are reporters saying Kamala Sutra is South Asian//or southeastern Asian? She is Indian with a dab of Jamaican, Mon!
