The week before I married on my family’s homestead in Alaska, we found out Sarah Palin had been picked to be Sen. John McCain’s vice-presidential running mate.
This was big news for Alaska. Nearly everyone we knew was thrilled, even people who weren’t huge Palin fans. At the time, Palin was a popular governor who’d made a name for herself fighting a corrupt good ol’ boys system that had prevailed for too long in state politics. She was a Republican, but seen as a moderate who was willing to work with Democrats and take on powerful special interests, including the oil companies that held sway in the state capitol.
Doesn't the use of the word "ghost" imply that Sarah Palin is dead?
I know it's an analogy, but really?

The only reason I voted for McPain was because of Sarah.

Sarah Palin was an incarnation of the Tea Party. She was not taken out, per se, by democrats but by republicans. Very much like the same republicans who want President Trump gone. The McCain's the Bush's the Romney's the Rubio's and many others hated her.

I'm disgusted by and sorry for the treatment of Governor Palin. When she stepped into the campaign my heart swelled with excitement, hope, and love for her. She brought life and energy to a ticket headed by a weak-yet-arrogant man. She was put through the ringer by Judas types who were supposed to be on OUR side. Yet she always had a smile and an inner light that could not be erased. I was so proud to give her my vote.

In Harris's case, don't have an affair with an older, politically connected married man to climb the political ladder and no one will point it out.

There is no doubt Sarah loves her country. Kamala not so much.

I proudly voted for her. There was some other guy on the ticket too, but I forget who.

Although not stated in this article, the name Sarah Palin should give the reader a greater appreciation of just how intense the density is and the depths of stupidity reached by Maureen Dowd. Its been 36 years since a woman was on a national ticket for President, indeed.

The only thing we need to reply when the corrupt media says any criticism of Harris is racist or sexist is...'Tell it to Sarah.' (Or make an acronym with her initials.)

Sarah Palin would have made a better POTUS than McCain. Her run was just bad timing because the kenyan god obama was the opponent and the MSM was obliged to help him fight with "jungle rules."

Kamala Harris does too love her country. Problem is, it's not America.

The demonrats just had to destroy Sarah. When they saw her give her acceptance speech at the convention they knew that they were probably looking at the first female US president and they couldn’t allow a Republican to have that honor.

It could only haunt the media if they cared at all about propriety. Since they discarded all pretenses in that regard, it would depend on their conscience. And since they have none (and nobody to hold them to account for it), the collective reaction to this is probably, "Sarah who".

The leftist-media led destruction of Sarah Palin and her family was evil. The way John McCain and his family treated her was inexcusable. He was threatened by her popularity and blamed her for his loss when it was his, and his alone due to his own incompetence.
