Washington — The House's No. 2 Democrat announced Monday the lower chamber will not return for votes in Washington until mid-September after negotiations between Democratic leaders and the White House on the next coronavirus relief measure collapsed last week, leaving millions of jobless Americans without immediate relief. According to the schedule released by House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer on Monday, the House will not convene for votes until September 14. Members will be working in their home districts and conducting committee work for the first two weeks of September. Lawmakers were initially scheduled to return September 8.

This is the equivalent of a soldier abandoning their post when coming under fire. They ARE NOT interested in serving the American people. They are cowards and frauds living richly, at the expense of the American people.

Dems care nothing for the suffering of the people... only for power and money... Also, there is something wrong with using fancy face masks as appearance-enhancers. Nancy Pelosi must have dozens of expensive masks... to fit all outfits... not that the enhancing is working with her.

So that means it really wasn’t for the children, right Ms. Pelosi?

If Steny Hoyer decides not to have the lower chamber work during the coronavirus outbreak, they must be nonessential.
I have an issue with Nancy being allowed proxy votes. That means democrat senators are nonessential. It also means that if you vote for any democrat senator their vote is used how Nancy sees fit.
Why do continue to pay these people. They don’t even pretend to work for us anymore
It is time to make some recess appointments .

I agree the House members should not be paid for days they are not in attendance in D.C.! I think I also heard that they will be closed the whole month of October due to the Nov. Election. Nice work if you can find it! So how many days have House members been in Washington since the first of this year? Looks like not many!

One week they may be working in their home district and the remaining weeks vacationing or conspiring. Useless idiots.

Stenny Hoyer makes a big deal of Trump not being able to handle the corona virus. Hello? Doesn't Hoyer realize the governors and mayors of each individual state are managing their respective territories, and they are the ones who are or are not managing the virus? Nor does Hoyer give Trump any credit for all he's done that is within the power of the Executive branch of the US governement. And people listen to the twisted version of truth Hoyer dispenses.

Where are Nasty and her favorites heading this year, on our dime? Cut out all of those fact finding trips to foreign countries, since our 'betters' aren't working anyway. The military has better ways to spend our tax dollars than ferrying a bunch of useless congress people around the globe.

Take your time. September of 2024 will be a convenient return date for us. Donald Trump has a phone and a pen and he uses both of them well.
The biggest mistake of the American people was in giving these low-IQ porcine creatures the ability to set their own salaries and benefits and extend them for a lifetime, allowing a know-nothing ditz like AOC or Ilhan Omar to spend a few years spouting ridiculous nonsense in return for a lifetime of financial support from the taxpayers, not to mention people like Pelosi who emit continuous drivel forever. They even had the audacity to adopt out of an Affordable Care Act that they forced upon the rest of the country. That needs to stop. Two terms and out.

This just means the congressional critters have awarded themselves an extra 2 weeks of vacation-with-pay. They have taken every August off since I was born (back in the 20th Century). Don't whine about their not getting any work done--they never work in August.

And these little commies actually get paid for this. These people have done nothing for the citizens of our country. They get paid about $175,000 a year to trash our country and support the communists who are burning our cities down. Got it..

I wish I could have found a job like that when I was younger or now. Do nothing and get paid a pension with Cadillac health care to eat Ice cream all day. Republicans should pass a bill that Congress only gets paid when in Washington and vote only if you're in attendance then this BS would stop.

Ironically, this will save the taxpayers a lot of money. When democrats are away, lobbyists get no pay! Nor do any other leftist groups get new money.
No appropriations for the Marxists! President Trump will put our money where it needs to be.

#11, I believe The President stopped Nancy and other congressional members from taking a trip ,during the Shutdown in 2019, when they should have been working to find an agreement. He did that by refusing them the use of Military Aircraft for their freebe Trip. Left them sitting on their Bus!!
