Videos circulating online show widespread looting and clashes with police across Chicago’s Magnificent Mile shopping district early Monday, sparked by a police-involved shooting hours earlier that left a young male wounded. Social media users posted videos of hundreds of people looting stores such as Nordstrom, Walgreens, Macy's, Coach, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. Some exchanged gunfire with police at one point, although no officers were injured.

Lightfoot wants gun control. I want mob control. The riots, looting, and wanton destruction in Chicago would happen if all the guns in the world were evaporated

A young male. Yeah, uh huh. Meanwhile Mayor Lightweight spent Sunday breaking up a gay beach party. Social distancing does not accomodate their lifestyle but she should understand their position.

I’m tired of all these confrontations between the dindunuffins and the POlice being highlighted from poor old Chigago. Aren’t there any Amish or Mennonite or Far Northern European types fighting with the police? Hmmph, guess other groups shut up and not resist.

What a wonderful way to cap off another peaceful weekend of murders and looting. I bet Lighthead can't wait for the NFL to return on Sunday to stem the violence a little on Sundays.

Looting is euphemism for theft. This is rampant criminality.

I see that reparations were being paid last night in Chi-town...

I just heard Lightfoot's speech. She referred the the "murder" of George Floyd. Sigh.

I can see why the bookstore wasn't looted. When I go into a bookstore I'm so conflicted I leave with no purchase. There are too many books that I want. Oh! Wait! Looting would be the perfect option! Chicago, here I come.

The stores, already dying from economic woes, will close and leave the urban areas in droves. Insurance only covers so much, and they'll take a big hit on their bottom line. Democrat Mayor inaction will soon go from "social justice" to "budget crisis." In the end it's always about the almighty dollar, not ideology.

One photo shows a big booty ghetto cutey stuffing loot into the trunk of an old white Crown Vic. A Crown Vic that I bet began life as some sort of law enforcement vehicle. Check out the hubcaps. There was a reason that cops loved those old Crown Vics: You could stuff a lot of crime fighting gear into the trunks of them babies.

“....sparked by a police-involved shooting hours earlier...”. Reporter wants us to believe that yet another organized looting and violence spree was caused by the police rather than those afflicted with systemic criminal culture. If only the Chicago city council did away with the police except for the large contingent that protects Mayor Lightweight 24/7, these crime sprees would never happen.
Perhaps the plywood replacing the smashed store front windows along this once posh shopping area can be decorated for the holidays. But instead of racist white Christmas themes, the 4x8 pieces of plywood could be covered in Kwanza messages and themes. Then on Juneteenth, paintings of freed slaves could adorn the plywood along side of the Building for Lease signs,

Lori (with an i) dear. Gun control is having your police stop and frisk and when they find a gun on a felon, confiscate it and charge the felon with another felony.

I think Chicago should enact this rule: You are allowed to loot and steal only from stores whose names you can spell and pronounce properly. Of those stores, you can loot and steal with impunity.
Given the state of the public school system in Chicago, every store would be safe. Nary a one would be broken into.

This was not an organized protest. Rather, this was an incident of pure criminality," Brown told reporters. "
As if there were a difference.

Yes, the police fired back at a criminal shooting at them with a 9mm S&W Sigma, which is pictured in the story.
THAT is a good thing. Sadly, the perp will survive.
And the lying troublemaker said a child was a shot by police, and the lie was spread widely. Was Ben Crump in Chicago?

Keep in mind Chicago has had gun control since about 1980.
