When Kevin Alfaro noticed a masked police officer befriending a counterprotester who had threatened him at a Black Lives Matter demonstration in Nutley, N.J. on June 19, he whipped out his phone and took a picture. Then he tweeted: “If anyone knows who this b---- is throw his info under this tweet.” Now, Alfaro and four others who retweeted the post have been charged with cyber harassment, a 4th degree felony that carries up to 18 months of incarceration and a $10,000 fine.

Lots of problems with this story. Someone saw the officer talking to a counter-protestor and claimed he was ‘befriending’ him. First, how does he know? Second, so what? He was obviously trying to dox the cop. Why else ask for his info? And the airhead who retweeted it had the same intent. Her attorney doesn’t appear to understand the law. She might need a new one.

Couldn't happen to a nicer group of Twitters. 18 months in Gitmo sounds about right to me.

FTA: ''I did not reply, did not say anything against this cop, and had zero clue to who he was,” she said. “I simply retweeted because I feel that just as with anyone we should hold our officers accountable.''
Mindless is the correct description for this child, bless her heart, because she wants to hold the officer accountable. This, when she wasn't there, didn't see anything, didn't know anything, had no direct knowledge of any facts, but she wanted to ''hold the officer accountable!
She should be prosecuted for being stupid in public!

I haven't heard of -- cyber harassment, a 4th degree felony that carries up to 18 months. Does anyone know if that is a NJ law or Federal law?

Besides social media, one of the worst inventions of the past 25 years was the cell phone camera.

We have tolerated enough. It is time for reality to take back common sense.

Doxing is something that really, really bothers me, it is a weapon of the left that seems to often be "protected" by the 1st Amendment. But, it usually causes huge problems and very often endangers the lives of the doxed and their family. So, it is about time that doxing is treated as a crime, which it technically is under many statutes around the country. One of the retweeters is now complaining that this is going to ruin her life. OH BOO HOO, SHOULDA THOUGHT OF THAT BEFORE YOU AIDED AND ABETTED THIS CRIME.

Lets start posting pictures and information on the protesters and their sponsors and see how long it takes them to squeal that their rights are being violated.

It's NJ. I'd be shocked if they're even fined.
