A 40-year-old man has died after being found on fire by cops on a California highway shortly after he got into an argument with a group of people outside a 7-Eleven early Friday morning. Jerry Mungaray of Gilroy was found burning alive by California Highway Patrol officers who were called out to a report of a fire on the side of the freeway south of Gilroy just after 2.45am, the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office reported.(Snip) Mungaray had been spotted getting into a 'verbal confrontation' with ‘multiple people’ in two cars outside the convenience store, Jasmine Richards said

Comments:

Don't all Fundamentally Transformed Americans keep flammable liquids at the ready in case a WHITE person shows up? No description of the arsonists, who were seen by multiple people. The victim's attire suggests that he might have been in with the "gangsta" crowd himself.

RIP sir. You might have been crazy to get into a verbal sparring match with those people, but you didn't deserve a live roasting like that. Nobody does.

This happened only 10 miles from where I live now. This is really scary. I don't believe there was anything gangster about him and it doesn't take much to get into a verbal confrontation. Sometimes there are people out there looking to start something. These monsters probably were looking for an excuse to hurt or kill someone.

Bronx Zoo officials this week apologized for putting a central African man on display in the zoo’s Monkey House 114 years ago. The man, Ota Benga, was taken as a slave from his indigenous Mbuti people in the Congo and sold to an American man—who brought him to New York, where he was placed in the exhibition for 20 days in September 1906. Zoo officials on Wednesday described it as an act of “unconscionable racial intolerance.” “In the name of equality, transparency, and accountability, we must confront our organization’s historic role in promoting racial injustice as we advance our mission to save wildlife

Sanctuary! Sanctuary! A struggling Manhattan church has been forced to block off the steps to its front door to keep homeless druggies from defiling the sacred space, The Post has learned. Prayers alone weren’t enough to protect the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Hell’s Kitchen from temporary residents of The Watson Hotel nearby, so a makeshift barricade built out of a clothes-drying rack and twine now bars the entrance to the house of God. “These people would come and crap all over the stairs!” an outraged church member said Wednesday.(Snip) The super, who gave his name as George, said the front door has to remain

Strangers followed an elderly Brooklyn man and a young Bronx woman into their homes this week in a pair of separate—and terrifying—incidents, cops said early Thursday. A 77-year-old man was returning to his home at Avenue N and East 48th Street in Flatlands at 2:55 p.m. Sunday when a knife-wielding man followed him inside, pushed him to the ground and demanded his belongings, police said. For the first time, President Trump Thursday asked about postponing the presidential election, even though such a move would violate the constitution. It’s the Great Black Tar Way. A cluster of junkies has turned Broadway into a shooting gallery, injecting drugs unhampered in broad daylight and then shuffling around in a zonked-out stupor, seemingly oblivious to the Midtown bustle around them, The Post has learned. If that wasn’t enough, the addicts are peppering the area with used syringes, turning individual planters on 40th Street and Broadway into mini needle parks. “They’ve taken over the tables, blatantly using needles and shooting up heroin all day long,” said a local worker who asked that he only be identified as James. “There’s no police action, there’s no reach-out.

The state of New York faces a budget deficit of $30 billion over the next two years thanks to the COVID-19 crisis, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday it’s up to the federal government to fill it. Without that help, Cuomo told reporters that funding for local governments and hospitals would take a significant hit. Education will too, unless the federal bill requires states to fully fund education. His comments come a day after Senate Republicans in Washington revealed details of their latest COVID-19 relief package proposal, called the HEALS Act. Cuomo sent a letter to the state’s congressional delegation urging them to push for $500 billion in unrestricted

The D.C. Court of Appeals has agreed to rehear the case against retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, the court announced on Thursday. The court’s decision prolongs an already three-year legal battle between Flynn and Department of Justice that federal prosecutors asked to be closed with all charges dropped back in May. Federal District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan denied a request to immediately dismiss the case and instead brought in a retired judge to assess and potentially continue the prosecution. Oral arguments in the D.C. Circuit Court are scheduled for August 11.

Admiration for George W. Bush doesn’t win you much praise in today’s Republican Party, but I don’t care. On Thursday former President George W. Bush attended and delivered a speech at the late Congressman John Lewis’s funeral. George W. Bush had every reason not to attend Lewis’s funeral, let alone eulogize him. Lewis may have been a famed civil rights leader, but he was also a bitter partisan Democrat congressman, who boycotted both of Bush’s inaugurations. Bush barely mentioned the political division between him and Lewis. “John and I had our disagreements of course,” Bush said.
