Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s reputation for guiding the GOP once again as he tries to steer through the choppiest political waters of his long career and save the party’s slim majority in the upper chamber.
The Kentucky Republican is trying to overcome opposition — both from the left, which wants even more spending, and the right, which wants less spending — to grind out a new coronavirus stimulus package. It could help the GOP defend their control of the Senate, which has become a potential last stand for Republicans with President Trump’s reelection in doubt and hopes dashed for flipping the House.

Hopes dashed for flipping the House? What planet are you on, Sean?

He will do it and increase the majority as Americans continue waking up to the horrors of barely existing under a Rat regime. KAG.

When I hear people like syndicated NYC's Mark Simone rage against McConnell (and Lindsey Graham) I just gulp and almost give up. Simone is a know nothing who claims to know the inside of all (he claims to be an expert on Sinatra yet when the major book was published on Frank, Simone was not listed ONCE in the appendix) and does not recognize what an uphill battle McConnell is fighting and how much he has accomplished re: judges etc. I hope people recognize where Simone and his ilk are coming from---though I am not sure where that is, beyond self aggrandizement.

No, with Mitch, it is always the taxpayers who get it in the (rear) end.

If the Senate maintains a majority after November, it won't be because McConnell did a damn thing to make it happen. He didn't and won't. It's not up to him. It's up to us, the voters but he and Ms Graham will gladly take the credit if it happens. Except for judges (and that still remains to be seen), McConnell has been anti-Trump and anti-Constitution and anti-conservative for the last four years, period.

A Senate majority is all that McConnell and the Republican Division of the UNIPARTY will fight for. And with that majority it is still never enough, is it? We live in Mitch's world of "best we could do" and have for years, even when Republicans held majorities in both chambers and the White House. And now, like that young lady feigning insult, we know what the national level Republicans are...we're just dickering over the price.

The only reason McConnell has a majority is that Trump visited many states to pull a Republican over the line. McConnell has no power to retain a majority. I hope they rename McConnell and Kentucky when they rename the military bases. Thanks for that knife in the back.

If the moderate cuckies are putting their hopes in a man who undermines actual conservative candidates every chance he gets, we are in big trouble. Turtle has only kept one promise in his entire career that I can see, to not support the incoming president whomever that might be. I think he and Ryan knew who would win, and this announcement they made in October 2016 was their first shot across the bow against Trump.

if the turtle was serious he’d get funds to real Trump supporters.not ticket splitting wuss rinos .If he was serious he’d have a RECESS ! so that conservatives of true stature get appointed .. , not the wishy washy ones that are safely swampy .His personal life is seriously compromised with chicom family funding his campaigns .

It’s time to Ditch Mitch. That big spending slobbering old fool gave Obama everything he wanted and more. He is a roll over puppy for Schumer who knows how to rub his tummy and get Mitch to lick hits toes anytime he wants. Mitch is at war with Conservatives as we know and actively campaigns every election to defeat them and elect liberal democrats or liberal republicans that will go along with whatever he says. I don’t trust him and you better watch how he handles this big spending bill because he will give Nancy and Chuck pretty much most of everything they want. Just to prove he can govern in a bipartisan manner once again.

We are all making a list of names to which we will refer in detail for their upcoming elections. We have been burned too many times in the past by Uniparty candidates. Stay Conservative or stay home.

I was happy to read that McConnell is against putting aside billions in the bill for a NEW FBI building.
Not to be rude, but they are doing nothing in the present FBI building, so why build them a brand new one where they can do more nothing?

“This is what leadership is about — finding a way to listen to your members while negotiating a deal that will pass muster with the base and earn the president’s signature,” said John Feehery, a GOP strategist.

if the Republicans keep the Senate it will be a close thing.
The Republicans who are there now are not Republicans, they are Democrat light and cowards to boot.
If they do not stand behind my President I do not stand behind them.
Most of them suck.

This is fraudulent fear porn. My state hasn't even had the primary yet. Nobody pays attention to elections until after Labor Day. They never have, and right now people have a lot more on their minds than idiots like this telling them to quit and give up. They are telling us the communists destroying our country have won a November general election in July. Wishful thinking by this loser doesn't make it so. We are being gaslighted.
