The dramatic increase of COVID-19 cases in the states of Texas, Florida, Arizona, and California this summer has many scratching their heads. The summer months were supposed to slow infections due to activities taking place outdoors and more in-home ventilation, such as windows being opened up. This hypothesis has thus far proved true in many northern states — most dramatically New York — while the South has fared much worse.
There are a few possible explanations for the South’s infection spike.
The first is that a widespread lack of mask-wearing is causing these increases. The national media have been quick to note that Republican governors such as Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis

Yep, and stuffy nursing homes are death traps. My genius governor, Gruesome Newsom banned surfing and beach going for a while, an absolute disaster. Sun, breeze and salt air are the best things for a person. In fact, there is a group that takes cystic fibrosis kids surfing...very therapeutic.

Only morons are scratching their heads. The virus strikes, peaks then plummets. The virus started in the northeast and spread. This is not a second wave. Southern states were affected at a later day as the virus spread from the northeast.

If "social distancing" really works it's hard to imagine how the 'rona survives traveling through all the duct-work and filters to be blown across the room into someones' nostril.

One thing is for sure the Chinese Communists definitely put a big time hurt on the USA and other countries around the world when they allowed the Wuhan virus to be exported out of China to the world by way of global commercial air travel.

I read the media are combining new cases with old cases making it look like a spike. Also, when the tv need talks about the virus and the “spike” they show old videos of people in ICU and on respirators. These are old videos of when the Wuhan flu first hit
Hard to believe anything coming out of the media. The spike in cases ranks right up there with the mostly peaceful protesters lie

When they mix up the data INTENTIONALLY to confuse the issue INTENTIONALLY, I don't believe them any more on the numbers.
Adding positive tests for antibodies, which means you HAD IT some time ago with current infection tests is corrupt, and is intentional misinformation.
And, I still think that there is a substantial probability that the antibodies tests give significant false positives, probably detecting old cases of other coronaviruses, like the common cold.
Not buying the story that AC has an effect.
And since essential nobody dies under the age of 50, I really hope that EVERYONE at the younger ages gets it and gets over it, the quicker the better.

If there were a connection I would have been dead 2 months ago. But when I do get sick I turn the AC off because sweating like Hillary on the witness stand helps me recover.

What is causing the increase in cases is the Democrats lying through their teeth about the number of cases to defeat Trump.

Where did a lot of New Yorkers and people from New Jersey go during the first few of months of the Chinese virus scare? They went south. Particularly Florida. I saw dozens of cars from those two states packed with gear heading south during April and May.

#22, I thought it spread through the hot water system. Hotels were trying to be environmentally friendly, conserve energy, save money, etc. They had set the temp too low, not hot enough to kill the bad stuff in the water.

Early on, I contacted DeSantis, the President and others about the AC vents. In a nursing home there may be two air handlers outside. If a sick person coughs near the intake inside, it will spread thru the air units in each room. If a sick person works in the kitchen preparing food for the entire place, guess what else happens?
Recently, a local nursing home had 66 positive tests, including employees who are not the brightest people. Their families work in grocery stores, restaurants etc. How far will it spread?

Why is it so hard for anyone to admit that the increase in cases is because of the protests? Look at the graphs. The death rates indicate infections increased around the end of May/early June. The cases started showing up about 10 days later and kept climbing as the infected infected other people. Look at Minnesota's graph. Cases peaked in mid-April and were far down the curve by the end of May. Then they peaked again in mid-June. Duh! Why are young people being the ones infected? Maybe because young people were the ones protesting? And that would account for the lower death rates, too.

Of course it's the air conditioning. People in the hottest areas stay in during the summer; people in cold areas stay in during the winter. In both cases the air is circulating viruses from anyone who is sick.
