The Queen attended the unveiling of a new portrait of herself in a virtual Zoom call and was said to have reacted 'very positively' to the new artwork. Miriam Escofet painted the portrait, which was commissioned by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) as a 'lasting tribute to Her Majesty's service' to diplomacy. But the Queen proved her own attention to detail during the grand unveiling, as she joked that a tea cup featured in the painting had no tea in it. The Queen saw the painting for the first time on her computer screen,

I love this portrait. She looks wonderful in it. As for the tea, well Your Majesty, you drank it all.

From what I have observed about the remainder of her family, I hope the Queen remains on the throne for many, many more years.
God save our gracious Queen, Long live our noble Queen, God save the Queen!
Send her victorious, Happy and glorious, Long to reign over us,
God save the Queen!

I could be wrong, but my opinion is that Meghan was disappointed to find out she was never going to become more important than Duchess Catherine of Cambridge. Also, her little son Archie was always going to be further down the line of succession than George, Charlotte and Louis. So she threw a tantrum.

Love the portrait. One of the best ones I have seen in a long time. Why is it that people treat her like she is a potted plant, then are surprised she has a very wicked sense of humor and a lot of life experience? She is not dumb. Her son Charles might be, but she definitely is not.

She's the only one who deserves to sit on The Throne.

Very nice painting Almost looks like a good photo, except in a few areas, that are less realistically rendered.
Compare this very tasteful thing to the beyond tacky things that Barry and Mooch chose for their official portraits.
And compare the very tasteful yet witty behavior by the queen, compared to most of the rest of the world's leaders, politicians and celebrities.
After Her, the monarchy (and nobility) should be dissolved.

I like this very much, too, especially the painting within the portrait. The Queen has one of the royal Cavaliers (looks like a long-legged King Charles, or perhaps some other terrier?)in the painting on the wall, behind the Queen in the portrait of her. I really like it.
Supposedly she isn't permitted to have the usual dozen or so dogs running around the residences. around the Castles... too dangerous under foot.
I think #8 has a good idea. or at least skip Charles. good grief.

I like it. The artist, who's a bit underdressed with that middle-aged-old-woman flower top, should paint a little tea in it, wouldn't be much trouble. Great portrait.
